Oh, okay. Still doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Are Justin Beiber fans known for death threats after they patch his voice tuner or something?

Haha yea, they're OUTRAGEOUS. I mean if you were to tweet something they found even remotely insulting to Justice Beaver, your twitter feed would be stretched to its limits within minutes.

True story, a girl happened to sit next to Justice Beaver at a Miami Heat game during this years playoffs, some ppl took photos and posted about it. By the time she got home, her twitter account had THOUSANDS of new followers all spewing vitriol towards her. Saying s**t like "keep your hands off my bf or else". Haha seriously, those fans are monsters. Insane, tiny, scary monsters.

Also, said girl who sat next to Beaver, said he was a total dick head. Just throwing that out there.

Here's the playthrough for the first twenty minutes of The Wonderful 101. Looks like it's Platinum on the top of their game, so it'll probably be an easy GOTY, even if it'll bomb and most will write it off. The guy playing is fairly bad (how hard is it to draw a line, man). Cool to see a superhero game embrace the craziness of the genre. This is going to be great!

I don't think theyre holding back at all. One thing that they needed to.change from Brawl to this new one is the amount of unneccessary characters. This may come off as holding back but Brawl and Melee just had too many unneccessary characters. I could careless what they're excuse is I'm glad the Subspace Emissionary isn't coming back. That was an awful mode and a complete chore to get through.

Nintendo straight up said that was the reason.

And what about returning characters? I knew Sakurai wouldn't want to get too specific—Nintendo likes to announce characters for their big mascot fighting series with a dripfeed of news on the Smash Bros. Dojo website—but should fans expect all of their favorites from Melee and Brawl?

"The reality of the situation unfortunately is that there are certain limitations on the 3DS," Sakurai said. The 3DS and Wii U versions of the next Smash Bros will have the same library of characters.

Guy proposed to wife by modding Contra... but she had to finish it first.

Next Super Smash Bros. game won't have a story mode or cutscenes because... cutscenes were uploaded on the internet.

Between this and Nintendo holding back the game's potential to accomodate the 3DS, I think a lot of the recent Smash Bros news have been underwhelming to say the least. The cutscenes reason is the dumbest reason to not have a story mode or cutscenes I have ever heard.
Be funny is she gives up.

That's a shame. Guess I'll watch them on the internet then.

How is the wii U version being held back? Also a shame.

I think it came out that the roster will not be as big as it could be, because they want the two version to have the same characters.

Damn, hope they don't cut anyone good.

Yeah, the whole Smash Bros cross platform thing is a good idea in theory, but when you have such a power gap between the two, it could be a problem. There are some characters that could use cutting, but I'm not sure they should've done the cross platform thing, and just developed each with a similar idea but unique to each system.

Smash Bros actually will NOT have cross-platform play. Making the decision for a 3DS version even more pointless.

Honestly, I hope Nintendo plans on having DLC to compensate the gimped version the WiiU will get.

I don't really care about no Subspace Emissary again. It was cool but became tedious to play. It kinda spoiled you on unlocking characters since you just had to play that instead of doing things like beating classic with someone, Normal without dying, etc.

I have bad news for you.

I don't care, but my problem is that their reasoning's pretty stupid.

I was pessimistic anyway. This game is going to be a disappointment.

So this is how Nintendo goes out.... :o

Seriously, it's like trying hard not to compete with the other systems.

I still don't really see the problem here. The games needed to have less characters It was like the new Mortal Kombat. They needed to cut down the amount of characters from previous versions because there was waay too many pointless characters. No campaign? haha who cares, the campaign in Brawl while a valiant effort was god awful. The only reason it was played was because it was how you unlocked characters. This new Smash Bros is going to be fantastic, probably one of the best of next year as well as a system seller for sure.

Both reasons are terrible reasons and it shows the mindset that Nintendo has as being not only being antiquated by being (for lack of a better word) ******** over youtube cutscenes (not to mention they were preventing streaming and already have a strong dislike for Let's Plays), but somewhat greedy because they want to hold back the Wii U version in order to sell 3DS copies.

The only two characters that were pointless were Lucas, a Ness-clone from a game that was never released outside of Japan, and Wolf since he was just a second clone of Fox.

As far as other clones, Ganondorf needs to be changed since it's stupid to make him a clone of Captain Falcon (who he has no relation to) and has used a sword in his last 2 appearances in Zelda games. At least Toon Link was modeled after Wind Waker and had a different feel than Link (who was butchered, IMO).

I wouldn't even call those characters completely pointless (except for Lucas). Both Ganon and Wolf were more powerful, but slower versions of Captain Falcon and Fox respectively. I wouldn't not call them clone characters, but they were fun to have.

They didn't say they were cutting down on characters to make them unique, nor were they cutting down on characters to get rid of clone characters. They straight up came out and said they were cutting down on clone characters because they wanted they didn't wanted everything to fit on inferior technology also.

Now I know what it feels like to be a PC gamer. :funny:

I thought they'd be trying to do that the other way round and use the 3DS functionality to enhance the wii U experience. The 3DS doesn't exactly need a whole lot of help.
