They need to be ancient.

I want their AARP eligibility to be a distant memory and for Jonathan to have fond memories of Betty White being a hot young thing.

Greenwood for Jonathan’s not bad. I still like Will Patton, though.

I still like the idea of Margo Martindale as Ma Kent, but that’s probably better for an older Superman instead of one just starting out. The Kents understandably get the Hollywood Hotness treatment most of the time, but I like the idea that even Superman just has regular dorky parents.

I wouldn’t mind seeing a more grounded version of the Kent’s, definitely no big celebs. They should look like the average people you see in the Midwest not people on the red carpet.

think of them as a contrast to Clark’s life in metropolis which is a bit more glam. The kents are kind of the heart of the movie

While Supergirl's casting status is up in the air pending Sasha's appearance in Flash, Elvis's Priscilla , Olivia DeJonge , 24, could be our new Kara for Woman Of Tomorrow.

Yeah, there are literally no shortage of actors who could adequately play Jonathan Kent. No need to even entertain the idea of Mel Gibson.

Or Kurt Russell. I feel like there's so many more "out there" choices that would pique people's interest. Brendan Fraser is a good one someone mentioned. Him and someone like Ann Dowd for the Kents. More character actors or lesser-utilized actors as opposed to huge names.

Well the point of the huge names is to commercially offset casting an unknown for your lead. The Kents, Jor-El and Lara and Perry White are roles tailor made for big names because you only need them for a few days of filming so they don’t break your budget, and they add credibility and appeal to other demos for your movie. It’s wise to keep to that, imo. Get the cool character actors for the roles that will be around for a while and actually have a variety of meaty scenes and material to work with, like as villains and various major figures in Metropolis.

I personally don't think we will even see Krypton possibly until Supergirl.

Yeah, that's a good point. I guess that halfway depends on who Gunn gets for Superman as well. There's not much to go off, but I see them casting a pretty wide net.

The move is definitely not very well known actor as Superman, rising star as Lois, mid career high actor as Lex and established vets as Pa, Ma, Perry.
