Hoult is a really good actor but I don't see him as Superman at all.

If they did recast best they can do is find another unknown or lesser known.

I think Hoult could pull it off the down to earth goofy and lovable qualities of Clark Kent ,while at the same time having the kindness and nobility of Superman. He's not an actor who comes to mind off the bat, but I think he could embody the character assuming he had a great script.

But I agree that if they casted the role, the best option would be a lesser known .

I would probably want an actor a bit younger than Hoult is, someone who's more like 24-27 as opposed to someone who would likely be 30 or older by the time they start filming. That's just me though.

I have to wonder how much camera time would be required of an actor playing Perry White. Because I'm just picturing a scenario here...

Actually, part of me could see him as Sam Lane (of course, that would require WB to make another one before he gets much older, which I'm not holding my breath for as it is).

I mean, he'll ask for a scene where he fights Supes while parasailing or something, but we've had it worse.

I would keep the vast majority of the cast, but the inner geek in me would love to see Tom Hanks as Lex Luther Sr.

Have him be a super genius Branson / Jobs / Gates type who is an absolute media darling, adored by the public. Founder of charities and grants the world over, but all being a front for alien tech and a racist / xenophobic hatred towards Superman.

Really work on the lovable charming side of Hank's and flip it on to head.

Caflin is an interesting choice for Superman. Though I could also see him as Lex.
