I'm Black, and I'm perfectly fine with a Black Clark Kent or Calvin Ellis.

Clearly there are people who can't accept it or deal with that possibility, but I'm not one of them. This is from someone who will always consider Chris Reeve their Superman.

But, people are gonna have their opinions .

As for Jene Page, I like him for a Clark or Calvin Superman if they go that route.

Calvin Ellis is a great shout to explore, due to the multiverse, imagine post credit scene and we see metropolis, we see this crazy rescue and camera comes into focus on the silver S and it raises up and it's Michael B Jordan or someone similar, be damn cool....

I don't have an issue an issue with a black Clark Kent, I have an issue with the team going into it only wanting a black Clark Kent and a black experience, it feels exploitive, political and derivative. But we all have opinions we can respectfully share.

I haven't seen him act on anything but Alfred Enoch has a very Clark Kent look to him.

Be a better time lord...

Trevante Rhodes

Sign me up for Trevante Rhodes. How he didn't become an instant movie star after Moonlight I don't know.

I’m still holding on to hope for Trevante to play John Stewart at some point.
Green lantern corps can break so much ground... they can really represent and lift so many people. If a kid can't see themselves as a green lantern, they have failed.

Danny Glover would make a fun Pa Kent. And call me crazy but would Oprah be Ma Kent? They could use the star power and the diversity of demographics

Lot of interesting up and coming black actors at the moment tbh.I like the Stephen James, Eli goree suggestions. Shame Jonathan majors is probably busy at marvel.

Since I dont have full faith in Coates and would rather he do val zod or Calvin ellis.Kingsley ben-adir for Calvin Ellis.

About a half hour into Blackkklansmen I wanted John David Washington to be Superman. He's the guy for the role, the way Pattinson was for Batman. No one else gives off the exact right vibe the way he does. They'll probably go younger, but he's my dream candidate.

Bradley Cooper for Lex.

Samira Wiley as Lois.

John Hawkes as Pa Kent, I've known people of colour who were adopted by white families and it's a very particular, interesting life experience that would be cool to explore.

they will call that whitewashing, coconut, Uncle Tom or whatever.. that won't please the hard left... they will want this to be crude caracature of a black superman, a modern day Jim Crow...

I just don't see this ending well, I really don't.

Imagine a scene in a movie, where the multiverse is breaking through the speed force, imagine a city under destruction, superman struggling to contain it... a weakened superman looks defeated, the Empire State building gets blitz and bulldozed over by an alternate Nuclear man, as villains reign supreme over the word and more heroes are need... clark looks up, the shadow looms large, he closes his eyes to give up...
suddenly a figure is behind him, we recognize the s shield, the cape majestic flows and covers clark as this hero flexes and catches the building... echoing MOS oil rig scene... the light corrects, the camera focuses and it's Val Zod.

Earth 2 could be a whole new phase for DCEU.

Sheesh, imagine if flashpoint has Val Zod and merges to create one universe and Val Zod joins Kaluuya El - nice. Flashpoint could do and achieve so much.

I’m sorry, man, but I have literally no idea what you’re talking about. Most of my friends are on the ‘hard left’ and I assure you none of them would be offended by... interracial adoption? Is that what you think the left would be mad about?

No one wants a black Superman to be a caricature. They want him to be... Superman with a different life experience.

Marie Tran is a bit cutesy for me. I really want to get back to the hardened edge Kidder had. The jaded city girl.

Agreed about Marie Tran—I think she’d be much better-suited for Cat Grant. Introduce her as a bubbly gossip columnist, and maybe she can evolve over the series of films.

First matter on the agenda for this DSA meeting, is the new Superman... coconut?

I have experienced 'reverse' racism, where black friends have been called coconut from their own 'community' - meaning black on the outside, white on the inside... if they act a certain way...

I would hate for a race swapped Clark Kent to be subjected to that kind of abuse.

My issue is, get the best actor for the role. If he is a poc, doesn't bother me, as long as it works - I wanna see superman. But, I also do not want this decision to be made political, which these things always do.
