Yeah probably true. The JL is full of super tall people.
I think Armie is our guy
I think Armie is our guy
I read Tom Cruise was on the shortlist it would be cool to see him play Hal .
I still think Armie might be Darkseid

Well, they did pick Eisenberg to play Lex... So Hammer as Darkseid isn't far fetched at all... sadly...
What's up with suggesting 40-50 years old for the role of Hal?
Beats me. People seem to think that just because Hal is expected to be the more experienced GL, he has to be middle-aged.
Ummmmm no.
Lol wut?
I think around 40 would be fine, just as an example Jason Momoa is 37 should he also be disqualified for the role of Aquaman just because he is nearing 40. Around 50 is where I draw the line though.
Years come with the territory of experience. And it helps youth isn't so immediately associated with Hal, like say it is for Ray or Wally.Beats me. People seem to think that just because Hal is expected to be the more experienced GL, he has to be middle-aged.

If Hal got his ring in his 20s like he usually does, he can easily be in his early to mid 30s in the movie and still have a lot of experience. That's how he was in the Green Lantern animated show, he was experienced and tenured, but he was still a young guy in his prime. Why not see something similar here. Besides Hal has never been portrayed as an elder statesman other than the early 90s which DC retconned into explaining his white streaks as an anomaly caused by Parallax to make him afraid. If Barry is going to be in his early 20s here, I'm not sure why Hal has to be middle-aged.
I don't recall people insisting Hal has to be older. It's just the character lends itself to flexibility in age, much like Batman. I've no qualms with even a 20s Hal. But if it were up to me, in this current iteration of JL I wouldn't mind adding another veteran to the mix.
With their shot of an origin story being nixed thanks to the failed first film, I'd much prefer an implied history of Hal being a GL outside of Earth's perimeters. It provides a convenient "out" for WB to skip a rehash of Hal's beginnings and jump straight to him training a younger partner in Stewart.
As far as the veteran aspect goes, the main reason I'm opposed to that is because I can't picture a veteran Hal Jordan being absent for every recent catastrophe his home world has faced. He is assigned to protect the same space sector his planet is located in. Defending worlds, especially his own, from Darkseid's army is exactly the type of threat that he was chosen for in the first place. Of course they can and likely will come up with any reason to excuse his absence, but I find it much harder to believe that a veteran Hal wouldn't show up, as compared to a younger version who was either in training or still an ordinary human when Zod's army, Doomsday or the Parademons attacked Earth.

Ummmm maybe actually, no one knows if he's playing anyone
Just a suggestion, I could see him as Darkseid.
