The Amazing Spider-Man 2 The Hans Zimmer Score thread - Part 2

Oh. Yeh, noticed that too.

Definitely made the song a little better for me. I'm still on the fence about Pharrell's voice, though.

Hope they'll release the second part of the power plant fight music someday.
The cool stuff happens after Electroll get hit by the car xD
(Including all the victory music)

Somebody posted the tracks in chronological order of the film on Zimmer's website.

I check the movie again and I can assure the chronologic order of the songs, and sincerely my favourite:

BEWARE BIG SPOILERS:

01. I´m Electro (Album Introduction)
02. There He Is (similar to the piece that is heard during the prologue in the plane)
03. I´m Spider-Man (Spider Symbol and First spider swing)
04. Cold War (Spidey vs Aleksei Sytsevich)
05. No Place Like Home (Gwen speech and Spidey catch Aleksei)
06. Ground Rules (After graduation scene, Gewn and Peter talks)
07. Look At Me (Max Dillon start a new work day in Oscorp)
08. Harry's Suite (Harry and Norman last talk)
09. You Need Me (Peter and Harry recalling childhood)
10. I Chose You (Peter and Gwen new date)
11. So Much Anger (Electro arrives to Times Square)
12. My Enemy (Battle in Times Square)
13. I'm Moving To England (After fight Gwen reveal her plan)
14. You´re My Boy (Aunt May uncover the past)
15. Special Project (Harry betrayed by his company)
16. I Need To Know (Peter goes to Roosevelt station)
17. Sum Total (Harry arrives to Ravencroft institute)
18. We´re Best Friends (Peter and Gwen declare eternal love)
19. Still Crazy (Electro's Last Fight)
20. I´m Goblin (Goblin takes Gwen and last fight)
21. Let Her Go (Gwen falls)
22. The Rest of My Life (Peter five months of depression)
23. You're That Spider Guy (THE BEST SCENE IN THE MOVIE)

I just wanted to know if this was correct or not? I've only seen the film once (two weeks ago) and am a little fuzzy on where the tracks go in chronological film order. And am thinking about arranging it in that order instead of album order.

Most is right. I think So Much Anger appears later, when Gwen and Peter are on the bridge and the power cuts out. Ground Rules is also featured during May's speech about packing Ben's belongings away, merging into You're That Spider Guy.

With that said Zimmer's theme is tender and somewhat romantic that I feel has a hint of inevitable doom/loss. I think Zimmer's theme explores their relationship as too much of a good thing and won't last long sadly.
Well said. Pharrell's 'Here' captured things well. "First class to nowhere."

Really enjoyed ASM2 soundtrack.

My favs from the cd are Sum Total & I Need To Know plus the last Electro battle score was epic too.

My absolute fav music part is when The Gentleman enters Oscorp for the 1st time such a great piece of music there. It really captivates the scale of what The Gentleman is all about even if the scene is brief.

For ASM3 I hope Zimmer is back and I wonder what kind of theme he'll make for say Kraven or Mysterio?

Mysterio - eerie monk humming sound not the same as Emperor Palpatine's theme but with majestic overall score.

Kraven - dramatic jungle music with pan pipes & bongos score?

I agree the soundtrack was great and I cant stop listening to it and I hope he cames back and if he dose it will be interesting to see what he cames up with for what ever villians are used in the movie.

I cant really decide what my favorite one is form the sound track has there are probly about 5 that come to mind lol.

Okay, I appreciate the feedback.:yay:

It's a little off.

'Special Project' is actually, technically the first track in the movie. People tend to mistake it for 'There He Is', when it's more of a mix beteeen the two.

Nice review EM, I was wondering what you thought of it. I'm glad Zimmer finally put out a superhero score that you enjoyed. :woot:

why didn't they include the theme of the parents? that was really friggin good, I had no idea the plane scene could be that heart wrenching

The plane sequence is something I hope to get my hands on.

When Richard uses the gun, it's a very Zimmery piece of music. Scoring sessions please!

I alrease wonder what do people mean when they say something like that about it being very zimmery ?do they just mean great has ever thing he dose is form good to great to out of this world? lol

I think he meant it sounded very similar to Zimmer's work in the film. :oldrazz:

Yeah, some things were puzzling about the choice of the score.. Like they didn't include the different "I'm Moving to England" track that was in the film. And why couldn't they at least include the actual opening track in the movie that included the parents theme? Which imo was the best in the movie.

I mean it sounded like something he would do. It was epic sounding, booming and dramatic. With an emotional layer as the plane plummeted, and therefore resulting in Richard's death.

Thanks. That makes two of us. Now if he can pull a hat trick and impress me with a score to a Nolan movie. Even though Inception, which I never considered a bad score, has grown on me over the years.

Yeah, prett sure the movie starts off with 'Special Project' blended with 'There He Is'.

Thanks for your input.

Yep,the victory isn't I'm Spider-Man? (Different)

Holy damn, yes.

I knew the plane scene was coming, but I had no idea it would be that emotional. Zimmer's score really elevated it.

The parents theme did make it onto the released OST, though. It's in the second half of 'I Need To Know'.

Sucks it's not the calm version from the plane scene, though.
