Yes, the guy from Once Upon a Time. And why not? He's the same age as that Taylor Kitsch people are suggesting, but this guy can act, and is hot as hell.

Well one he might/probably will be tied up filming not only Once Upon a time but the sequel to Thor as well, where I believe we will be seeing more of his character and the other two of the Warrior's Three. Also Taylor is 30 but can easily pass for mid twenties Josh is 30 and cannot he actually could pass for a little older than his actual age. I like him but he doesnt fit this character (my opinion of course). As I said I do think his co-star Jamie Dornan would actually be darn near perfect as Finnick though.

Seeing the heels in another pic, they easily added 4-5 inches to her height.

I can't hate on Hutchenson though...I'm only about an inch taller than him at 5'8".

I can't hate on him because he is pretty ripped and I well I am not

He's way more like 5'5" than 5'7". Almost every actor under 5'10" adds 2 inches to their height. It's the tom cruise rule.

Yeah, that 5'7" thing is BS. That's a short guy. And women usually cheat their height shorter because it's harder for tall actresses to get roles (can't make the leading men look small!), so it wouldn't surprise me at all if Lawrence was a little taller than she's listed at as well.

You guys are horrible, making fun of Josh Hutcherson like that..he got to lock lips with Jennifer Lawrence! Have you seen those lips of hers?! :oldrazz: :hehe:

Oh, I thought I anothe actress for Johanna: Eliza Dushku.

Hey he is what he is, but that doesn't stop him from pulling the kind of tail that he pulls (Vanessa Hudgens for one)

So, I saw The Hunger Games last night. Beyond the absurd premise--tyrannical government and/or corporations making people fight to the death gladiator-style? Ok. They all have to be children? Nobody likes seeing children hurt, even prison inmates convicted of other heinous acts, so it turning into a national pass-time seems a bit of a stretch--I actually really enjoyed this movie. It was a good piece of sci-fi entertainment that while obviously targeted to a younger, probably female, audience is something that most people can enjoy. It has a universal appeal in themes and is very well-acted and directed. Jennifer Lawrence completely owns this movie and earns her new star status.

What I liked is actually cared about what happened to Katniss and Peeta. I didn't know much of the story going in and figured [blackout]they'd kill Peeta off for dramatic effect. When the evil regime lets them team up, I was surprised and actually felt relief for the characters.[/blackout] It just played like a good sci-fi film that, strangely, felt like one from the 1970s or late 1960s before Star Wars, Alien, and Blade Runner changed the game. Their crazy hair, costumes and make-up being half the effect of the dystopia in the Capital just seemed so retro and fun to me.

So it was enjoyable. Though, I don't feel like it really needs to be a trilogy. I get they left it wide open with [blackout]a love-triange, but the story of them defying the government and surviving is so perfectly neat and satisfying. I read summaries of the sequels that involve Kat and Peeta going into another Hunger Games? Then a Civil War?[/blackout] I'll probably see those movies, but this worked fine as it is.

Touchy.

It's blacked-out. But I recommend in the future you stay out of discussions about movies you haven't seen if they've already been out a week.

Aren't these books and the film aimed at the Twilight teeny bopper teenage crowd?

I think he was talking more about the plots of the future films.

No spoilers here. Even the blacked-out stuff is kinda vague.

What is the rule of thumb for spoilers? I know its already been a week, but that still seems kind of a short time. Then again, this is a message board discussing the movie.

I understand the logic of making it kids for the reading demographic (kids reading about kids in extreme situations still dealing with first love, finding yourself, etc.) I just didn't buy that they could turn this authoritarian punishment into an entertainment because people all over the country are watching their children or a child of their community die. Like with Rue's dad's reaction, I have trouble understanding why that wasn't the reaction of most communities 74 years prior.

Now, if they made it young people around 20-25? I think that's more believable, but then you can't deal with all the themes of adolescence the targeted readers are going through. So, I just accept it as part of the set-up. I just don't think watching children die would have the same reality show vibe. People like watching adults suffer on shows like Survivor. Children? Not so much. Movie still works.

I don't think we should have to spoiler tag in-movie events anymore. Movie has been out a week, if you have not seen it yet, then avoid the thread. plots for 2nd and 3rd movies should be spoilered though.

But I don't make board rules lol
