damn hobbit LOL

Yes, the guy from Once Upon a Time. And why not? He's the same age as that Taylor Kitsch people are suggesting, but this guy can act, and is hot as hell.
Those must be some gigantic heels of they're supposed to be same height, lol. That shouldnt count because shes in heels
Seeing the heels in another pic, they easily added 4-5 inches to her height.
I can't hate on Hutchenson though...I'm only about an inch taller than him at 5'8".

So, I saw The Hunger Games last night. Beyond the absurd premise--tyrannical government and/or corporations making people fight to the death gladiator-style? Ok. They all have to be children?Nobody likes seeing children hurt, even prison inmates convicted of other heinous acts, so it turning into a national pass-time seems a bit of a stretch--I actually really enjoyed this movie. It was a good piece of sci-fi entertainment that while obviously targeted to a younger, probably female, audience is something that most people can enjoy. It has a universal appeal in themes and is very well-acted and directed. Jennifer Lawrence completely owns this movie and earns her new star status.
What I liked is actually cared about what happened to Katniss and Peeta. I didn't know much of the story going in and figured [blackout]they'd kill Peeta off for dramatic effect. When the evil regime lets them team up, I was surprised and actually felt relief for the characters.[/blackout] It just played like a good sci-fi film that, strangely, felt like one from the 1970s or late 1960s before Star Wars, Alien, and Blade Runner changed the game. Their crazy hair, costumes and make-up being half the effect of the dystopia in the Capital just seemed so retro and fun to me.
So it was enjoyable. Though, I don't feel like it really needs to be a trilogy. I get they left it wide open with [blackout]a love-triange, but the story of them defying the government and surviving is so perfectly neat and satisfying. I read summaries of the sequels that involve Kat and Peeta going into another Hunger Games? Then a Civil War?[/blackout] I'll probably see those movies, but this worked fine as it is.
I think he was talking more about the plots of the future films.Touchy.
It's blacked-out. But I recommend in the future you stay out of discussions about movies you haven't seen if they've already been out a week.

Aren't these books and the film aimed at the Twilight teeny bopper teenage crowd?

No spoilers here. Even the blacked-out stuff is kinda vague.
What is the rule of thumb for spoilers? I know its already been a week, but that still seems kind of a short time. Then again, this is a message board discussing the movie.
