I completely had no idea he was the main baddie in death sentence, his whole performance was so menacing and even his little quirks threw me off.
None of those three are anything like Finnick, to me. They range from mildly handsome, to kind of hot. Finnick is supposed to be pretty.
i see finnick as a beach guy (considering his district and what he can do (nets, etc) who has to be easy on the eye and charismatic as he is a very popular winner and the capital is still crazy about him
as to who fits that? i have no clue

When the report broke that Taylor Kitsch in the running to play the dashing, love-sick, oft-nearly-naked Finnick Odair in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, I was dubious. While starring in the sure-to-be-a-hit Catching Fire would help brighten Kitschs tarnished star power thanks to the one-two punch of John Carter and Battleship, Kitsch is already committed to director Peter Bergs Navy SEAL drama Lone Survivor. That film will likely be shooting at the same time that director Francis Lawrence is in production on Catching Fire.
If there was any doubt as to whether Kitsch would abandon his close buddy Berg for Finnicks golden trident, Kitsch himself laid that idea to rest today. When reached by The Los Angeles Times about playing the Hunger Games champion, Kitsch had a typically terse response: Not going to happen.
So there you have it. Armie Hammer, Garrett Hedlund, generic unknown dreamboat, the competition just got more intense!

The Hunger Games massive success has earned Jennifer Lawrence, not double, but twenty times the pay for the sequel. Picture: Supplied
JENNIFER Lawrence is set to receive a major pay rise for The Hunger Games sequel.
The actress, who turns 22 next week, received $500,000 plus bonuses for the wildly successful first movie.
But The Hollywood Reporter claims that Jennifer will rake in around $10 million for Catching Fire and is in the final stages of negotiating the more profitable deal.
It will include her salary, bonuses and escalators and depending on how well the film does at the box office she is in line to have a much bigger bank balance.
Jennifers turn as Katniss Everdeen helped to propel The Hunger Games to a gross of $683.8 million worldwide.
Her deal with Lionsgate is said to have been renegotiated on the back of the franchise doing better than expected and is similar to what happened for the Twilight stars.
Jennifers co-stars Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson are also reportedly ironing out new deals but will receive smaller raises.
Production on the second film is set to start in September in Georgia with a release date of November 22 2013.
Meta Golding Cast as Enobaria in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire; Apply to Be an Extra on the Atlanta Set
Posted on Tuesday, August 7th, 2012 by Angie Han
Just about all the major pieces are now in place for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and not a moment too soon. During yesterdays announcement that Sons of Anarchy actor Patrick St. Esprit would be co-starring District 12 Peacekeeper Romulus Thread, I noted that former District 2 victor Enobaria was perhaps the last new character remaining to be cast. Today comes news that the part has just gone to Meta Golding, a Haitian-American actress whose previous credits include Day Break, Criminal Minds, and Dark Blue.
But while most (if not all) of the bigger supporting roles are spoken for at this point, there are still plenty of bit parts remaining to be cast. Hit the jump for more info on Goldings casting, plus details on how to snag a job as an extra on Catching Fire.
The Francis Lawrence-directed second installment of the Hunger Games franchise follows Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) embarking on a victory tour around Panem. As they dutifully make the rounds, they come to realize that a major rebellion against the Capitol is brewing. The story sees them crossing paths with several other previous Games winners, including Mags (Lynn Cohen), Finnick (Sam Claflin), Johanna (Jena Malone), Beetee (Tony Shaloub), and Wiress (Amanda Plummer). A Career tribute, the brutal Enobaria is known for having won in her year by ripping out another tributes throat with her teeth.
Fortunately, those interested in becoming extras on Catching Fire likely wont have to do anything quite so vicious to get in. A casting call has just gone out for extras who can help out when filming begins in Atlanta next month, and On Location Vacations got the info on how to apply. (To clear up any confusion, The Idiom appears to be the working title for Catching Fire.)Catrett Locke CastingThe Hunger Games: Catching Fire will open November 22, 2013.

Well I look at this way - movies and professional sports are big profit machines. I'd rather see the money go towards the talent, and not the executives/owners.Its crazy how all these celebrities get millions of dollars for acting. The same thing with professional sports players. Kinda ridiculous. Can't wait to see Catching Fire though.
That casting announcement was already put up in the official Catching Fire thread. Let's try and keep all sequel talk there so we don't have two threads going for the same thing.
