The "I hated Spider-Man 3" Thread!

1) Thats not how it happened in the comics, Peter was able to morph the symbiote into the costume whenever he wanted he didnt jus put it on and take it off.

Uh actually thats how it did happen in the comics. Go Read ASM 252 :o :whatever:

In the comics he was never able to take the symbiote off until the ff helped him out so he would jus morph the symbiote into different suitsand attire. correct me if im wrong
You are deadly wrong lol.

He took it off all the time. Even washed it a few times.

Go eat crow now :o

its a small point cause alot was wrong with this film, but yea the symbiote shouldve been able to morph and not just be stuck on the suit, thats how it was able to mold with Peter, latch on cause it was mostly on him providing all his clothing.....in the movie, when the suit is off, Peter exhibits weird behavior even with it off.....

Raimi did an overall poor job with the symbiote, IMO. I love how Raimi has stated that he did not use the Spider-Man's black symbiote costume from the comics because he doesn't believe the symbiote would have the "fashion sense" to alter his red and blue costume into that. Yet the symbiote manages to make Peter want to change his hair style and sense of style overall? Makes no sense.

in the movie....the suit doesnt crawl onto him....it crawls on the suit ONE TIME and is stuck for the whole movie....he manually puts it on and takes it off in the movie......

Yea Im not denying that but thats not what Im arguing about though. Some of these people think he wasent able to take of the symbiote in the comics, Im just proving them wrong about that.

1) uhhh because thats how it happened in the comics. Read up on the source material.

2)Agreed. Though they hinted at his acceptance with implications. His smirk before being totally enveloped was obvious.

3) You're complaining because of his poster??? Seriously? O_o

Eye candy....true enough. Sadly.

1) Umm you dont know WHAT you are talking about my friend. The Symbiote bonded with Parker, not the suit. It was apart of Peter not his costume. In the comic when Peter was trying to take the suit off, ultimately the bells almost killed Peter as well, and he was in his underwear and the costume dragged Peter out of the church in feeling a sort of compassion for him.

2) Actually- no that wasn't even necessary, that would have been more of what they were doing through the film. Trying to explain too much. Venom is mystery villain they have been promoting him to be, and we don't get that feeling in this movie, cause there was too much explanations that was not necessary.

3) Sandman was just eye candy in this film. I thought he was going to be a major villain in this film. I almost feel like Harry was the main villain in this film. I never knew Sandman could FLY!!!!

Uhhhh you guys are bringing up some of the lamest points I have ever seen in my life.

Peter did that out of his own accord due to his new "personality". A care free attitude to change everything about him, regardless how obscene it was to anyone else.

Jesus.

i was dissappointed. i really think this movie would have been better if sandman wasn't in it and it was just the symbiote, spiderman, and harry for the first half and then have venom in the second half with harry sort of out of comission until the last 25 or 30 mins, i think then everything would have fit together alot better and it would have been more focused like the first two movies. and then cut out all the unneccassary humor, the dancing was really funny, but wasn't needed, to much fun was had with the dark side of peter, it needed to be more serious. sandman with the lizard should have been number 4.

yea, i'm shocked that he failed at EVERY story he attempted, seriously...

Harry's story of revenge and anything dealing with him = failed
Peter/Mary Jane relationship = failed
Sandman's ummm story? = well he was eye candy? so no story lol passed
Eddie Brock's fall = it happend literally overnight it seemed D-
Venom = hahahahhahahahahhahahahahahahahha :csad:
Dark Peter = if that means Funny Peter then i guess he accomplished that
overall symbiote = just for the story it was, nothin was really explained, stuff falls from the ummmm sky, Dr. Conners warns him, it seems to effect his personality even when its off of him.....hmmm didnt really explain - Failed

Jesus.

Sorry, but some of the ideas and scenes that I have seen put in this film are the lamest, IMO. :csad:

Sadly, I gotta join the group. I didn't hate SM3, but I didn't like it either. It was "meh okay". I didn't have any expectations for this one because of all the Marvel shait that had come after SM2. And then the info for SM3 became, four villains etc. I thought "Man, another lame (overcrowded) third part." Then the trailers hit. They were great, but I still didn't expect anything and I was dissapointed.

They fcked up Venom. Sandman too, but not as badly as Venom. There was really nothing happening in the movie. Stupid humor. Etc. etc. :csad:

i love these hate threads. everyone is picking on one thing, and every aspect is fair game. i'm almost glad this movie sucked so much, this is fun.

i didnt wanna admit either but it was that bad, i was ready to defend it after hearing so much negativity.....but it was warranted..

Rest in Peace, Eddie.

You deserved better than what Raimi gave you :(

You are alive in our hearts forever!

They could have done so much better with thi film. I still can't believe how bad this film was. My God the script was in par with Batman and Robin. I'm still shaking my head. What happened to Sony? How could they let Raimi made a movie out of that script?

Well I think they let Sam and Ivan write the script because Spider-Man 1 & 2 made so much money. But the script was very weak. It was all over the place. It was too campy in parts like Evil Dead.

I was very disappointed with this movie. I knew everything that was going to happen, but still there wasn't very real execution. The action, and the effects were really good, but the story elements collapsed. It seemed like the Raimi's were trying to put two Spider-Man movies together. You could of easily separated them, and you could have two great movies.

Venom wasn't up to par. The suit looked cool, but honestly, they missed the split personalities, and the voice sucked! I was disappointed.

Sandman was cool up until how he got around the city. I laughed so hard.

But I don't feel like going any deeper into what I didn't like about the movie. It was ok, but my least favourite of the series.

yea, I always thought Venom was the best idea for the big screen, we got what we wished lol just never thought about what if it wasnt done right, i mean how do u mess up that guy?.....

I loved it and had a huge smile across my face when I came out of the press screening, yet i understand exactly where all you guys are coming from.

Firstly I find it interesting that alot of people hating on the film are quite new.

But that aside, with regards to some of the more senior members of the forums, I completely agree with what you have critiqued, BUT the main difference may be that I didnt go into the film with unattainable expectations.

Yes I am a huge fanboy, and spider-man has inspired me since a young age, but I was NEVER expecting oscar material. I saw it for what it was, my hero up on screen in a hollywood blockbuster with great action scenes and a solid emotional aspect. As fanboys ( and we cant say we arent fanboys of some sort....we have been following this film on a forum for a good few years :cwink:) I think we may over analyse the film and have expected too much.

I can speak for everyone obviously, but I'm sure when I see it again tonight I will probably have a more harsh mind going into it....But i'll still love it.

listen to you guys... you sound like someone cancled christmas. this is great. If we were in ghostbusters 2 there would be red slime everywhere. I love it!!!! hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. it looks like i will have no problem getting into see spider-man tonight, unless there are people outside picketing. that could be fun too. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! Marvel ****s another great character in the ass!!!!!!! hahahahaha

The loss of this movie just makes me look even more forward to The Dark Knight.

:csad: Stop it, you're gonna make cry. It's bad enough I had one of my most FAVORITE Spidey characters crapped all over, must you twist the rusted blade?

You DC guys oughta be lucky and KISS Nolan's ass that he remains with Batman until the final film. I won't be surprised if he walks after The Dark Knight which I know will without a doubt deliver. I never really had much faith in Raimi, now my perceptions have become validated *runs off to cry*

What is this, all the FOX MOVIE EXECS registered today on SHH to bash the movie? :oldrazz:

I've notice it's a lot of the "newbies" on this particular thread that seem to hate the movie .....hhhhhhhmmmmm...makes you wonder if....

sorry guys. I know you really did have your hopes up for this franchise. just be happy that you liked the first two, and try to pretend that this one didn't happen.

I didn't like it much at all. Tried to, but can't.

I hated, absolutely hated, the emo/thug/jerk Parker. The whole dance scene and all of that...I was embarrassed.

Didn't like that Sandman was widdled down to nothing at all. In the book, they involved Penny and his wife, and even the doctor, but in the film...none of that. Also, could not stand the "dust in the wind" sort of look.

Where was the final swing?

I did, however, love the opening credits.

Hated the fight between Harry and Peter at the penthouse. I laughed...but I don't think we were supposed to. "I'm gonna kick your little ass!"

The battle royale was great, but some spots looked too computer generated...too cartoonish, if you will.

Overall, highly disappointed.
