Sterling sets up De Bruyne for the equaliser with 20 mins left! Lovely set up and lovely finish!

So I'm watching Just Shoot Me again on Hulu and I'm still mad that Elliot and Mia don't end up together.

What a blast from the past. I had such a huge crush on Laura San Giacomo when Just Shoot Me was on the air.

That moment you realize Steven Spielberg traded Cape Fear for Schindler's List.

Anyone else know her from the Australian Western Quigley Down Under with Tom Selleck?

Had Alan Rickman and a very young Ben Mendelsohn.

Anyway... I so wanted to love Quigley when it came out. Selleck as an American Cowboy sharpshooter in Australia? Rickman as the badguy land barron? **** writes itself in my opinon. There's oodles of cool potential in the initial concept which could go a number of ways. And then San Giacomo's character gets added into the mix and it's just an obvious gamble that I don't think pays off. At the time she was hot fire, and she for sure has a sense of comic timing. She's not a bad actress. But that character is a cancer on the script. Superfluous ultimately and shoe horned in to give the main character a love interest. That's usually weak sauce anyways but then the character as written is just... A mess. Is she nuts? I guess. And I guess they want you to feel that adds uncertainty or danger to a situation and also I suppose they want you to feel some sympathy for her. On top of that they clearly thought they had written the most goddamned funniest lines and comedy with regards to this character... But I think it all falls flat. And it sucks time away from Selleck's character whenever they feel the need to spotlight her. All the time given to her would have been better used putting more meat on the backstory of Quigley, Rickman's character and the battle of wills between those two.

I'm a huge western fan so I was really interested in seeing a cowboy out of water story. Alas... I think it's a frustrating film that never knows quite what it's doing. Kind of a mediocre time waster. Nothing wrong with that but it could have been a lot better all around.

Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

"Sausage Bear."
I finally remembered to bring this up with my wife this month... She is Pizza Dragon... Rather fitting actually. :o

Hey Y’all, update on Reek:

He’s going in for surgery to get some work done on his cheekbone and around his eye. It’s relatively small scale, but it’s the second or third surgery he’s had around the head area, so please send him some good vibes. He’s very eager to get back and ***** about people in spandex with you all.

our local AMC movie theatre opens up next week, and they will be playing The Empire Strikes Back for $5.
i've never seen it, so i am thinking about going and seeing it on the big screen, but i'll pick a time less likely to be busy. they're only opening at 30% capacity anyways.

AMC will be showing a lot of "classics" that it'd be cool to see on screen. trying to decide if it'll be worth the risk

I can see where some people wouldn't like her character. While I wasn't over the top enamored with her, I wasn't against her inclusion either. It was a fun movie. I like all the Selleck westerns.

Best of luck, Reek! Come back soon, it's been too quiet without you. :D

Thanks for the update. It sucks that the ****s who did this have caused him to have multiple operations. Best of luck to him getting through it all and getting back to being an ass on here. :cwink:

All the best to that ornery bastard.

I once encountered Reek on a steamy, sweat-sticky night in a bar in rural Georgia. Seems he'd gotten in an altercation with a couple of locals who'd slit his throat and left him for dead. Well Reek dusted himself off, walked straight down to the nearest bar, and downed his whisky glass through the gash in his throat.

He'll survive.

Thanks for the update. Sucks that he's needing so much surgery, but please let him know we are continuing to wish him all the best and eagerly await his return.

Thanks for the update. This place hasn't been the same without him. I hope surgery went good.
