why on earth would you let them take his car keys? your landlord cant just randomly decide to take someones car lol
im just saying they can't just come take someones car. why would they even be looking for his car keys?
they wouldn't come into your house, ask you where your fridge was, and go take dinner.
as for you getting in trouble... go get the keys back or call the cops for them stealing your car if its been released to you.
This just makes it sadder.Cyberforce comics can't even pay for other Cyberforce comics.![]()
Does anyone know anything about law here? Here is the situations, for those of you who remember one of my roommates had a mental breakdown, the cops were called and he was baker acted and sent to the psych ward at one of the hospitals. What worries me is the cops released his car to me and I told them to park it in the driveway since I didn't have a license. I then put his keys in his room. He was taken in a 72 hour hold but still hasn't showed back up at the house. The landlady cleaned out his room and said he isn't welcome at the house now and her husband asked me where his keys where and I told him in his room. Ever since then they have been using his car like theirs and now apparently they gave the car to the owner of the house who dates her mom in Tampa.
What I'm worried about is being liable for them basically stealing his car if he calls the cops when he gets back. I looked up the abandoned property law in FL and it says you have to wait 5 years and report it to the state which I know they didn't do. Also when I moved in here they make you sign this weird agreement/lease that says you are a guest in the house and technically work for the house (which is some type of facility legally) and I was told by her somewhere in that it also states they can take your property if you leave it. I don't think that thing is legal at all but they seem to think it is.
I haven't said anything to them yet because I don't want to cause problems but I also don't want to be held liable for the theft of this guys car. I also think they way they are treating him is really f***ed up.
So does anyone have any advice on this?
Anne Hathaway is amazeballs. That is all.

For reasons like this I don't give anyone access for one of my possessions, or the knowledge they desire to access it, I fear something like this might happen.I didn't "give" them to anyone. I put the keys in his room, the landlady's husband asked me where the keys were and I told them I put them in his room. Then he started driving it around everywhere and now they left it in Tampa I assume. Like I said they think some BS they wrote into their weird ass lease allows them to do this which I know isn't legal at all. But I'm worried that since the cops have my name as the guy who the car was released to that it's gonna come back on me somehow, no way in hell am I taken a grand theft auto for someone when I didn't do crap. I don't need a felony on my record
Pretty much, but she does not.Isn't this a segment on Fallon's show? They turned it into its own thing?
By the way, Anne sucks.

Sounds to me like the landlady's responsible. I don't care what state it is THAT is stealing.I didn't "give" them to anyone. Not to mention taking advantage of a situation & abuse of power.
Yeah, I would think if your friend brought them to court for his car and whatever else he would probably win.
Do you think this friend trusts you enough to believe you if you tell him it wasn't your fault?I don't think he would even have to take them to court, the title is in his name so if he calls the cops and says they took his car that would be grand theft auto. I'm worried sice the cops technically released it to me that I may be held liable in some way even though I do anything wrong, that's what worries me.

People don't care about other people like we used to. Seems like it's all about what you can get from them or how you can screw them over.People make me sad.
I dunno. Even at work I get more and more annoyed with the small back handed things people do like leaving little messes and using up supplies without replacing them. Small things to be sure, but annoying. Like they are the only folks in the world and who cares about the rest of us.These guys aren't normal people. Sound like outright crooks.

I was trying to get on a train the other day and there was a massive middle aged dude blocking my way who I thought was about to give me some abuse but he moved other people out of the way to make room for me!Nice. Glad to know we're not all doomed to rudeness.Don't worry Squeeks, plenty of decent people left in the world.I was trying to get on a train the other day and there was a massive middle aged dude blocking my way who I thought was about to give me some abuse but he moved other people out of the way to make room for me!
