The Incredible Hulk Hype Meter - How hyped are you?

ok this is really starting to piss me off. lets look at '03 hulk. by this time we had a teaser, a poster, an image and images of most of the toys. '03 hulk came out 20th of june, 7 days after this new one is due. i cannot fathom as to why we have nothing. look at iron man, trailer, posters and images every where. as a huge hulk fan, i think this is bad for us die hards, but also bad for the hulk movie in general. key word here is HYPE!! ff4 had hype. months before its release, a trailer was released, show ing silver surfer. even the crappest marvel movie yer, ghost rider, had heaps of hype. janurary 2003 all the hulk movie toys and merch was out state side, and by the end of feb, was all out here in oz. we have only now seen an image of a head knocker and before thet, a bed set! hulk was a merchandise juggernaught! it made more money that spiderman! i have no idea why everything is being kept such a secret??? hasbro should be hyping figures. most major movies that have toys gets em out way before the movie, and we aint even seen a prototype. and every one has seen that image of hulk srom the sakar poster. why not at least release a high res shot of that?? i dont think, as fans, we are asking to much. if they leave this to late, its will have a neggative effect. this needs to be pumped up, hyped up. we need hulk in everyones faces, so this time, everyone sees it, and it does better in th bo. that way were not waiting 5 years for a sequel. we need a poster, a teaser, and a look at abomination. even a glimpse at this stage would satisfy all the fans. 6 months from release and nothing is a bad bad move. ok ok, i better stop ranting or this will be a novel! im just a hard core hulk fan, dying for something. i know im not alone! come on marvel! throw us a bone!!!

I think "sleeper" might be the studio's best bet for success.

That's what I'm thinking too, they hyped Angs film early and it backfired on them terribly. I still remember how all the message boards were overrun with he looks like shrek/gumby etc. comments after that superbowl trailer. There's no coming back from that.

Additionally, Marvel will have to accept that no matter how good this film is, it will be hampered financially by the one that preceeded it. If it's a quality film with the level of action the fans expect, it might make $500 million worldwide, and generate a moderate profit on it's theatrical release, that way a further sequal would be set up to be the tentpole they're looking for.

Great post bud If we don't have something this month then all of us Hulk fans should be very, very worried, but right now with the big Christmas movies getting ready to come out I am trying to be patient and I will wait and see if we get a teaser, a poster or some shots of the toys.

A movie that also finished shooting quite awhile before Hulk even began....

Don't let their close release dates fool you, Marvel wanted one finished before the other began. Hence why we have a million more things on Iron Man.

I understand your want for these things, but I just don't share the need to have them right this second.

The Dark Knight and Iron Man do not have CGI characters, The Incredible Hulk does, two infact. Do you think Marvel would want to release any unfinshed pictures of Hulk? A trailer where Hulk's movements do not look right? They want everything to be perfect, that is when they will release stuff.

I say that this month we will get a short teaser trailer and a couple of pics. Then at the Superbowl we will get an International Teaser Trailer kinda like Iron Man trailers.

you obviously dont know what a die hard, hard core hulk fan is like! im mean, we are talking about a character i have loved for 27 years! so to me, i cant wait for new hulk info or pics. and just because iron man finished filming long ago, dont mean they dont have a full bodies render of hulk, be it concept art or cgi. they need an ilustration to start with.

Well, I'm climbing the walls as much as the next Hulk fan, but someone said it earlier..they will show it when it is ready.
So no need to be mad about it. I'm sure they are just as anxious to show the public than anyone..but not until they think it is up to it.

i know what your saying, but man its hard not to be EXCITED! i have been following this movie from the start, and after the head shot concept art, i really thought we would get a look at the hulk in full body by now. thats really what im wanting toi see the most. a hih res full body shot.

Yes I know it has CGI in some scenes but what I was trying to say was that Iron Man has Robert Downey in a suit in the film but has Iron Man as CGI in some scenes like flying, I didn't mean that Iron Man and The Dark Knight have no CGI at all.

Hulk is entirely CGI (with a bit of animatronics), TIH will have more CGI in the film plus it CGI for Hulk is probably harder to pull off than a man in a robot suit as Hulk shows emotion, muscles flexing and stuff.
