The black suit >> the actual DD suit

Agree. The red suit looks weird, I am not sure I even like the design at all. Blasphemous I know but Affleck DD suit was better.

But better than both is the black suit which genuinely looks badass. Has an almost ninja feel to it. Cox looks much better in that.

And looking at the Flash suit above, I see how well it is executed and the DD red suit looks even worse.

Sick as F.

#Blacksuit

It's just slightly annoying because it seems like it goes back to the same thing on the 1989 Punisher movie. He can't wear a skull on his chest because it looks too stupid. IMHO, it's like saying Cap can't wear the stars and stripes because its too old fashioned.

Actually, for some reason, Marvel stipulated that the company that made the movie couldn't use the skull!

Some other evocative drawings. I like how some of them look very Frank Miller.

I don't. It does not make any sense in the context of the show for him to dawn the proto-suit. The red suit could use a few small tweaks...like a better face plate that has some emotive qualities and a DD emblem on it (the suit, not the face-plate). Overall, I like both outfits and they both made sense within the story and the world that the writers built.

I now wish he would go back to the black suit.

Or closer to that version vs the thing he wore in the last episode.

Something tells me they will go back to black. Batman was originally in a grey suit until Tim Burton turned it black, so whose to say that the producers won't do the same with Daredevil?

It can be armored in the chest area, but I think they should just have simple trousers for the pants (because come on, those pants really showed off his nice butt) and give us back the full bandana, which was way cooler looking than the mask he ended up getting.

And, they already gave an exit strategy for the suit, it was a work in progress.

You know, it occurs to me they could've just made an entirely red version of the Black Suit and added a little padding here and there for defense. Added horns and eyes to his normal mask. That would've been a great first suit. Not that I don't like the final suit. Infact I think it's one of the greatest comic book suits to date.

But I would not object to some alterations and other routes.

The Black Suit actually did have some decent amount of padding towards the end, mainly around the arms and knee areas. The suit was actually evolving the whole show.

The truth is however is that Black is just an intimidating color, that suit would have lost a lot of its impact had it been red instead.

I do like the new suit aside from the cowl. If they could have brought over the black suits mask style I think that might have made a difference

^ Agree. I think it comes down to the mask more than anything. The simple one he wore like above, was perfect and all he needs.

It's the movie costume. Not really a fan. The collar looked stupid then (made it look like a biker jacket) and, for practical reasons, I think a leather costume is a terrible idea.

A funny complaint I just read about the costume
SO MANY STRAPS

By the time episode 13 of the Daredevil show rolls around, we know the Kevlar-woven suit is on the way. Murdock has already talked with Melvin Potter and asked him to design him something stronger for when he goes up against the Kingpin one final time. It’s definitely got an emphasis on function over form. In that regard, we can excuse it. But it’s tough. When we finally see the full shot of Daredevil standing on a rooftop in his purple-black-biker suit, full of incomprehensibly placed straps and pads and rivets and whatnot, it’s tough not to feel disappointed. It’s the visual equivalent of a deflating balloon. It’s a major distraction when we should be pumped about the climactic battle that’s about to take place. It sucks.

Can't he have pads underneath a more all red costume identical to the comic?

When you think about it, Daredevil doesn't want a broken nose smell is one of his most useful senses next to hearing. That explains the nose covering.

And beside the fact that they said when you see his nose its easier to tell its MM.

And how well did that padding hold up in his fight against Nobu?
As a life long DD fan, I am grateful that they gave us a take on the DD that I have known and loved for over 30 years now. Is it perfect....no, but I got a total nerd-gasm when I saw him dawn the red and the horns.

Th black costume did grow on me, but he got effed up so often in that thing that he absolutely NEEDED some padding or he was going to get killed. All those folks clamoring for him to go back to that are contradicting themselves as the praise the show for it's basis in "reality". How realistic is it for him to ditch the protective suit and go back to the proto suit and not get his ass diced into many a piece? Not very. He needs that protection and frankly.....the final suit looks pretty awesome (minus the cowl......it needs to be angrier) and serves it's true purpose well.

If we'd never got the red, suit, everyone would be complaining, far more than they are now about not liking the red suit as much as the black.

Well, the person who wrote it is not wrong. I've watched this show 3 times now, but the last time, I decided to just not watch the part when he's in the new suit, because it's just so ridiculous and stupid looking, actually laughable, that it takes me out of the fight, and out of the series. Judging by the massive comments all over the internet about it, obviously I'm not the only one. I wonder if the new suit might just break and not make season 2! The producers better think real hard on this one. Should they be more like the comics, but might turn off viewers, or go back to an armored black suit with simple mask, which might piss off comic book fan boys, but might keep the viewership high.

Heh, there's a chance viewers like me probably would have never gave the series a shot because he looked so stupid and corny in the red suit. And the thing about the new mask protecting against a broken nose? Never going to happen. You would need a full helmet like a biker's helmet or a football helmet to stop a broken nose! What he has now, will simply not work. In fact, in real life, he got hit in the nose part with that kind of mask, it could actually cause more harm than good.

Don't get me wrong I don't mind they got him to a red suit. However I think a lot of people actually ended up falling in love with the black suit by the time you got to like episode 3 at least, most people didn't have an issue with it.

The black suit didn't look great in the promos but like I mentioned I think most fans grew to love it after seeing it in action.

Like I mentioned if they could have just incorporated more the black suit style cowl, i'd be fine with the red suit.

The 2 two problems I have with the red suit are the cowl and how his nose is covered.

Fine I can get by with the nose but the cowl is a deal breaker for me. He looks like Captain America in the first Avengers movie, which I also disliked the cowl.

Also to note, I've seen many complaints at how ep 13 felt disjointed, and the last fighting scene was not so great compared to the rest of the season, I wonder if the suit is just so clunky and cumbersome, the stunt double has a hard time moving in it freely enough. This is concerning, since the awesome fight scenes prior to ep 13, were one of the major reasons why this show was such a hit.

Because of the possible movement restraints the new suit might cause, don't be surprised if the best fight scenes happen with Matt in a mere suit and tie instead of the red suit in season 2.

did we watch the same thing? If I recall correctly I remember him doing several acrobatic flips and roundhouse kicks to boot. I see no visual evidence to support what you claim.
