Daredevil The Inevitable Costume Thread - Part 1

Haven't seen this version of the still before, the suit looks great here.

That looks a complete mess to me. The movie suit was way better. His black suit is better. He looks like a poor man's Batman.

I don't like the chest stuff. If they get rid of that and make it all red, I think it'll be much better. It also may be the fabric, but it varies wildly depending on the lighting.

It's one of those suits that with minor tweaks and slightly different colouring could look fantastic.

wouldn't surprise me if they make the suit in the comics more like the one in the series.

For me the suit isn't quite a home-run, but it's far from a disaster. I think it's basically solid, like a good first draft, but with some small tweaks and further refinement can look a lot better for next season. Hopefully by the time Daredevil dons the costume again in Season 2, the chest looks more solid red, with a less busy, patterned design around the chest area. Maybe he's had Potter add a "DD" moniker to the chest and redesigned accordingly. Do that, then throw in a little more red in the suit and tinker slightly with the shape of the cowl, and I'd say it'll look great.

I agree. The lighting/colors are clear, which isn't true for most stills of the suit. Looks great there. Slap a DD on there and roll film for season 2!

Especially since he was not dubbed ,DareDevil, when the suit was made.

Yep, exactly. Made sense for it not to be there in the finale, but now that he's called Daredevil he might want that reflected in the costume.

Okay this would be PERFECT.

Although where yhe muscles are, there still would likely be some kind of padding or plating like in the original because his muscles wont come through the material that way, not without going the mos/bvs route. But even still, using that color red as the majority and changing 5he black to maroon would work really nicely imo.

EDIT: Just delete the biker collar, and there you have the perfect upgraded Netflix Daredevil's suit. IMO

Frankly, that's my only complaint. But I'll be more specific, the costume needs to ditch the collar and its zipper entirely. Otherwise, it's pretty good. I like that it mostly drops the crap on his chest, which is my biggest complaint about the current costume.

The black outfit actually gave him the silhouette this drawing above gives him which I like. Still dont like the pointy brow thing going on though it does help to have more nose showing unless Charlie's nose doesn't lend itself for it.

Same here. Maybe the new suit will get caught in a meat grinder in the second season and he has to go back to the first outfit.

I liked the idea of the first outfit, in red. I still prefer his black mask the way it is, in red, maybe the top could be hard kevlar with the horns, and then the rest strapped onto his head with cloth like the bandana was doing. But for now, I don't like the nose guard, because in reality, something like that would actually cause more harm than good, because then a fist would just smash the plastic part right into his nose, and by the end of his fight with Fisk with his nose all bloodied up, well, then what is the point of it in the end? And I don't like the cloth around his neck and sides of his head. I feel it restricts his movement. I say get it more simpler. The bodysuit itself is alright, I don't have a problem with it too much, but yeah, the mask/cowl has to go.

I'm torn only because I like both the black vigilante outfit and the red suit and they both make sense to me in this "grounded" MCU context and he would eventually get killed in an Under Amour shirt. I hope for a few minor tweaks to the red suit for season 2 but not much. A tactical fabric with armor plates is what it needed to be. I like the red/black scheme so that doesn't bother me. A DD logo wouldn't make any sense as much as one would want to see it. Even once he starts calling himself Daredevil will he really be compelled to plaster his initials on his chest? The horns are enough. Symbols make sense. Even Superman's S is a symbol and not an initial anymore. The biggest point of contention is the mask which I prefer. It's a cross between traditional DD, Cap's helmet, and Batman's cowl with a nod to the blind fold he wore as the vigilante, covering his nose, creating a straight line across his face. I like that it's more helmet than mask as evidenced by how he holds it in his hand when we first see him in the suit from behind.
