Daredevil The Inevitable Costume Thread - Part 1

That red one is... Awful. Now I understand now why they mixed in black with the outfit because all that red looks so cheesy. That puny logo too? Awful.

Maybe because it'd look ridiculous in the show/the tone they set up for the series.

I don't really see how that suit would look more ridiculous than the one we got.

Okay, I've defended the suit used on the show quite a bit here; it's not perfect but it's nowhere near as bad as some people make it out to be. I'd take it over those bullsh** pleather jacket costumes Greg Berlanti & Co. outfit every CW actor with any day of the week.

That said, this design is PERFECT and while I've never been a big fan of Daredevil's all-red comic book look, I think something like this could really work. I think it would give the comic book fans what they've been dying to see, but it also looks slick and updated enough that it doesn't just look like a guy in red tights. Hopefully we'll see Daredevil's look evolve into this by the end of this season.

I used MS Paint, so the quality is poor, but I thought I would try and see what it looked like without those ears. I also added the nose bridge covering because that was done for practical reasons (to hide Charlie Cox's identity a bit more). I don't foresee a TV show costume abandoning that.

Much better! The covered nose looks fine - it doesn't need to be exposed to look good, covered look "Daredevil-y" enough.

All it needs is for those black straps to be red (although I wouldn't die if they remained black) and the horns to point forward.

If those straps were changed to be red, it'd be a very boring suit to look at and would look somewhat cheap when being filmed as it would look rather flat on screen.

Love that concept art. Hope the suit evolves to that.

The concept art is the perfect suit. They need to bring it to life.

Maybe as DD progresses the costume will go toward something like that.

You know I'm thinking because of superhero fashion, DD will update the suit every season. After this season, with Elektra and more exposure with the Hand (I hope), DD will learn to improve the suit nest season making it more ninja like.

The first suit was as Ninja like as it gets.

oh I see you all saw the suit design they almost went with . may be they can still use the other design on the right for the final look .

LOOK: "Daredevil" Costume Concept Art Reveals Comic Inspiration
Artist Josh Nizzi's designs for the Netflix hero include one element from the comics that has yet to make it to the small screen.

The reveal of Daredevil's superhero suit was a big moment in season one of the Marvel Netflixseries, with the hero suiting up in the finale episode to bring the hurt to Kingpin in a one-on-one fight. But, as is the case with all superhero properties, the hero of "Daredevil" almost put on a totally different look.
Concept artist Josh Nizzi has posted a pair of "Daredevil" costume designs on his website, one of which bears a strong resemblance to the final look while the other hews closer to the comics.

The design on the right, which its black accents, has the most in common with the final Daredevilsuit seen in the series The one on the left, however, looks more like the hero's classic comic book look thanks to its red coloring and "DD" chest logo. The letters, which have been a staple ofDaredevil's comic look since his debut 50 years ago, have yet to appear on the Netflix version.
Nizzi has worked on many Marvel movies since 2012's "Avengers," recently serving as seniorillustrator on "Avengers: Age of Ultron," "Ant-Man" and "Captain America: Civil War."
"Daredevil" returns to Netflix for season two on March 18.

Hopefully they will tweak it until it becomes that

hope they make the red a little brighter in the future, and fix some things in the mask.

Yeah, until then. Im just happy Daredevil has a costume at all.

Those are some nice concepts.

just saw the trailer for season 2 and already seeing some slight changes....a new mask which looks fantastic and new forearm guards...there will be some further evolution of the costume after all.

The new mask is 100x better than the last one. Hope it doesn't take too much of the series before he switches to this one.

Are we sure it's a new mask or is it just the lighting? On the surface it looks a bit more like the Affleck one, but it's hard to tell.

Looks like it cuts on his face differently. I wasn't a big fan of how the a mask looked in the finale, but this is more favorable for me.

digging that new mask/hear gear!

huge improvement in my book
