OH by the way! My boss got to see a rough cut the other night!!
He says you will NOT be disapointed!!!

Awesome...did he say anything else? not details about the movie, but his reaction to it

I don't think "Harley" is really that similar to "Hogarth..." apart from the fact that they both start with H.

That's all I can say CK. Remember we're under the same contract ANYONE who sees a Rough cut film. SOMETIMES Security Can stink, because he couldn't tell ME either. :csad:

does he work in the industry? Why we he able to see an early cut?

^Ha, very interesting where it goes.

New BTS 'Disney XD' Featurette For IRON MAN 3 With New Footage!

Spoiler at 0:24...It pretty much confirms that:

Iron patriot is infiltrated by Jack Taggert coz the guy high fiving the Disney XD presenter is the actor Ashely Hamilton, who plays Fire Power..So I guess in the 2nd trailer, he's the one landing awkwardly and salute's the president with his faceplate closed. :awesome:

and also at 0.22 confirms that:

Aldrich Kilian is infected with the extremis virus, no way a normal human being can jump that high and I can clearly see he's on wires

And if you pause at around 0:41 -0:42, when the helicopter is flying away after the attack, you can see Tony in the armour flying away from the ocean :)

From Kevin Feige's interview with ScreenRant...

“James Badge Dale plays a character known as Savin. He works for Guy Pearce’s character, Aldrich Killian. You don’t know a lot about Savin at first but as the movie unfolds you learn more and more that he is a very frightening individual and he’s somebody that has used Maya Hansen’s technology Extremis for his own ends. He’s somebody who can walk around and seemingly be just sort of an average Joe, but who presents himself with such a cocky confidence that you’re not sure where that’s coming from or why he has it and then you see what he can do. James is an amazing actor, whom we looked at for a number of different films. We saw him for the first time in the miniseries “The Pacific,” where he does a tremendous job. He did a great performance in “The Grey” last year. For this role that is not the lead character or the lead hero or the lead villain, we wanted an actor who can rise above and who can hold his own against this cast and from day one, James came in and proved that he could do that perfectly. He can be very funny when he wants to be and he can be very scary when he wants to be and he does both in this movie very well. ”

I would say this pretty much infers that Coldblood is going to be an Extremis-infected bad guy as opposed to a cyborg.

And that Disney XD footage showing Jack Taggert (Firepower) in the Iron Patriot suit would show that Taggert will indeed be piloting a suit of armor, just not his traditional Firepower suit.

I'm just glad to see that these characters are at least loosely tied with their comic counterparts in terms of skills and powers, and not just given names plucked from the comics for no reason.

As cool as Extremis sounds, I would have loved to see Coldblood looking something like that and as a cyborg, but I know the Extremis route ties into the story better. I would have also preferred to see Firepower in his own suit that resembles that picture, but again, I know [BLACKOUT]taking Rhodey's suit[/BLACKOUT] will probably serve the story better.

Some of these designs can hardly be called suits anymore. No man can fit in this.

They're cool nonetheless.
The suits aren't probably to scale in the photos so I'd expect the Red Snapper and Igor ones to be larger than the typical suits that Tony builds since they're dealing with heavy lifting and look to have been built with large hydraulics.

New VERY spoilery description of the footage shown to journalists - http://www.empireonline.com/empireblogs/empire-states/post/p1345

LOL, I remember when I brought up the life-sized toy Rabbit doll in Stark's house back when some photos were coming out. Everyone told me those weren't breasts I was looking at ....

What unfolds is indicative of what co-writer Pearce calls the ‘zig-zagging’ nature of Iron Man 3, with the tone constantly changing not just from scene to scene, but sometimes within scenes. So for the first couple of minutes, we get some nice, pointed banter as Gwyneth Paltrow’s Pepper Potts – bewildered not only by Tony’s chutzpah, but also his Christmas present of a giant rabbit with huge, pendulous breasts – just wants to get the hell out of Dodge, and suddenly finds herself confronted with one of Tony’s old flames (“It was just one night,” says Maya, less than helpfully).

I don't lurk here, so you'll have to forgive me.

But has anyone noticed how the silver areas on Tony's previous suit appear gold? At first I thought it was the lighting, but it's pretty obvious it's not.

The areas that look gold look consistently gold throughout the suit, instead of varying, if it was lighting.

Is this a colour correction side-effect or something? Or does Tony rebuild them gold or something? lol

EDIT: The fact that gold/yellow areas on Tony's suits that were supposed to be gold/yellow look super saturated makes me think it's a colour correction thing.

Some 'fun facts' about the film!

  • Marvel’s Iron Man 3 blends two classic storylines from the ‘Iron Man’ comics, bringing Tony Stark’s archenemy the Mandarin into play and combining that element with the Extremis storyline, which deals with the biological enhancement of humans.

  • Production on Marvel’s Iron Man 3 commenced on May 25, 2012, in Wilmington, North Carolina, where the production shot onstage at the Sony Screen Gems Studios and various locations in and around the city of Wilmington. Other filming locations included Raleigh, N.C. and Miami, Fla.

  • Academy Award®–winning actor Ben Kingsley plays the Mandarin, a frightening, modern-day villain bent on destroying Tony Stark and everything he stands for. To define the Mandarin’s persona, Kingsley came up with the Mandarin’s enigmatic voice and costume designer Louise Frogley collaborated with Marvel’s Head of Visual Development, Ryan Meinerding, to pull off a highly original look to his wardrobe.

  • For the first time in the “Iron Man” film franchise, the filmmakers go deeper into revealing more about Tony Stark’s Hall of Amor. The Hall of Armor houses all of the suits that Stark conceived, representing any and all of his ideas regarding suit technology.

  • Marvel’s Iron Man 3 brings back the notable cliffside Stark Mansion. This set was built on a soundstage in Wilmington, N.C. and required 16 weeks of construction and set decoration in order to get it ready. The set was built on an impressive moving gimble, which allowed the entire structure to be tilted 45 degrees and reset at a moment’s notice, providing for the dramatic stunt work required to film the House Attack sequence.

  • For the filmmakers, creating the small town where Iron Man crash lands after his home is destroyed was something that could not be done on stage, so the production headed to Rose Hill, North Carolina. Rose Hill has its own claim to fame for having the world’s largest frying pan, which is 15 feet in diameter, weighs two tons and can cook 365 chickens at a time.

  • Filming in Rose Hill, North Carolina, was no easy task. As if five straight weeks of night shoots weren’t grueling enough, the short summer days made for a tight schedule. The very complicated and elaborate sequences meant that the crew was always racing to complete work before dawn broke.

  • Some of the exterior shots in Rose Hill were winter scenes complete with snowfall. Since it was summer in North Carolina during filming, 90-degree temperatures were common, but the local background extras took it all in stride, despite the fact they were dressed in full winter clothing.

  • The majority of scenes involving The Mandarin (Ben Kingsley) were shot in Miami. Production designer Bill Brzeski created The Mandarin’s compound there by shooting the exteriors on the 10-acre grounds of the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, a National Historic Landmark built in 1916, and the interiors were shot at a private waterfront residence in South Beach.

  • Prop master Russell Bobbit, who worked on Marvel’s Iron Man and Iron Man 2, returned to work with Marvel Studios on Iron Man 3. One of Russell’s favorite props was The Mandarin’s set of ten rings. Bobbit collaborated with jewelers through several concepts and manufactured specific stones for the rings, giving each ring a custom paint job. The process took a few months in order to get the rings right and ready for Ben Kingsley’s first day. Bobbit was able to use the same ‘ten rings’ images he designed for use in the first Iron Man film.

  • Florida pop-art artist Bask was hired to create distinctive artwork for the office and bedroom of the Mandarin’s residence that would mesh with the villain’s persona. Although the basis of Bask’s work is pop art, it is infused with influences from comic books, graffiti and punk rock fliers.

  • Iron Man 3 pairs Robert Downey Jr. and Ben Kingsley working together for the first time. Both actors also played memorable roles in films directed by Richard Attenborough (Downey Jr. in Attenborough’s Chaplin and Ben Kingsley in Attenborough’s Gandhi). The first day they met on set, Downey Jr. and Kingsley snapped a photo together to send to their mutual friend.

I see Disney is having an influence on these films.
That means more money in the long run.

By promoting it, yes. They promoted The Avengers with extended character spots on Disney XD last year. I don't see any influence with the film's themselves though.

Wait...you're telling me that children now exist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?!

And heroes intermittently interact with them!?!?

MY WORLD IS SHATTERED!!!

They'll be on par with Pirates, John Carter and what not. Disney has no issue with going the PG-13 action route, but they won't be getting like borderline R rated.

you mean... like the family van scene in IM1? the kid with the IM helmet in 2?

there's typically a scene with a kid in most Marvel films... showing the kids get wowed by something the hero does... this one just talks and actually has a small role in the film.

Almost every superhero movie has a silly moment or two with children, even TDK Trilogy.

Oh and the 'actors' in that family car scene from IM1 are hilariously bad, haha.

From what I've seen, the kid in this film does more than listen to one 2 second quip from a busy Stark in a suit.

I was being sarcastic.

Of course children exist in these movies and have small to large roles in them from time to time.

I find it ridiculous that some people are up in arms about a kid being featured in this film in a larger capacity than a bit part.
