less in other countries.

certain things had to be avoided so it could be screened in china and some things had to be added for their version

No, I get that. He made it sound like he questioned Black's creative control over the movie as a whole, though. That's what I was curious about.

As long as we get the version Black intended to make, I don't give a fig about how they doctor the chinese cut. I'm not going to be seeing it anyway.

Yea, with respect to the extra footage, I think it's more a case of attempting to appeal to Chinese audiences by showcasing China/Chinese stars a little bit more than something that they aren't allowed to show in the standard cut of the film.

I think the US (and the remainder of the world, I assume) will get the cut that Black intended.

I wonder how much creative control Shane Black has in light of this.

When I see your posts, I always read them in Alan Rickman's depressing Marvin voice. It matches perfectly.

That's pretty sweet. But who would pay for an expensive ass Hot Toys figure and then paint over it? I wish I had that much money.

So.. does anyone here care about the "Heroes Fall" soundtrack recently announced?

I'm just wondering because it's a wide departure to go from almost all AC/DC to a variety of Alternative Rock/Indie bands. (Not that I'm complaining, I love most of the bands doing songs for the soundtrack)

"Avengers Assemble" was mostly hard rock/metal songs, so I find it a strange diversion. Maybe it symbolizes the change of tone from Iron Man 1/2 and the Avengers.

So how is it possible for the suit to lose power? If the arc reactor dies, doesn't Tony slowly?

I agree that suit looks ugly.

And it vaguely reminds me of Spawn. Maybe its the red and green hues.

Producers want this film to appeal in China, so they are making decisions, creative and otherwise to meet that end. Ergo, this isn't a movie where the director had/has complete creative control.

For all the fans that cheer on Shane Blacks vision, it's becoming apparent that between RDJ/Feige/Disney/China's public relations cabinet, that there are few cooks in the creative control kitchen.

In comparison with say...Chris Nolan on his own work that is.
So yes, in light of this example of executives overtly pulling rank to suit their goals, I'm going to question Shane Blacks creative control on this movie. I'm going to question it alot more than I question Snyders creative control on MoS even.

I would love to compare this to the typical Director cut scenario. Maybe.
Still, now I'm beginning to wonder if the idea for China involvement entirely didn't start with the executives.

This suit is official?

Amazing how, fans will appreciate all sorts of changes if but only the film appeases their design needs early on.

I can only imagine if this was the concept work released for the first film. It simply wouldn't get a fair shake. Not around these parts.

Ah, that explains it.
