Seems like some of the promo stuff is calling the Hulkbuster armor a "Heavy Lifting Suit." Maybe it isn't Hulkbuster armor after all??

Heck of a display there. While most look to be from the movie-inspired universe, there are a couple that look to be more comic book-inspired due to the less bulky leg and arm armor.

War Machine was never actually the name of the suit in IM2 and Stane didn't (IIRC) call his suit the Iron Monger in IM1...so I'm wondering if the 'hulkbuster' will officially be called the 'Heavy Lifting Suit' but Tony, or someone, will say something like 'That looks like a hulk buster'

Fair enough...

possible spoilers:
I think what it is (mainly speculation) is that General Ross is involved with wanting Tony to build it. Tony goes through the motions and takes Ross's suggestion but he's not working too hard on the Hulkbuster and this is more of an original design he came up with based on how Hulk moves and General Ross's suggestion to build a suit capable of withstanding the Hulk. He would make suits for every other scenario, but isn't working too hard on the hukbuster Ross wanted him to build. So yeah more like a prototype Hulk buster that Tony intends only for lifting and to be his assistant Igor.

Pink Floyd or The Doors or GTFO! :)

but I've heard good things about Imagine Dragons from a few friends so I might have to check them and the other bands on that CD out.

I hated Mumford and Sons at first and now I keep Babel on replay day and night haha. Their stuff just grew on me, pretty catchy. Love the fast guitar they use in some of their songs

I like the prototype Hulkbuster idea. Leaves it open for it to become a bigger, bulkier, more dangerous suit in the future.

I also think it's like Tony doesn't really want to build it completely yet, doesn't trust the General completely, trusts Hulk to control his powers at this point... but at some point he will feel that Ross was right and he needed an even bigger version of it, not for Hulk but for many other huge Hulk-like threats.

I would say maybe in the end of that arc Tony doesn't fight Hulk, but instead has to build it to fight Red Hulk and intervene in a fight between the two in Avengers 2... Red Hulk and Hulk will tear apart the city, Tony steps in to intervene because he and Cap are still fighting for a leadership position... General Ross is manipulating civil war elements when he becomes power mad, and becomes Red Hulk, if the General Ross rumors are true... and what I said about Red Hulk having a bigger role going forward than Abomination way back is also true (although abomination may return too and this is partially why Tony wants a version of a hulkbuster); eventually he may battle the General himself who told him to build it. There could be a twist on where that's heading when Sterns/The Leader returns and the General and Leader meet. Leader would be the one who clones Thor.. not Tony in this story. Leader is able to obtain the Asgardian genetics from Crossbones, who switches sides and joins with the evil parts of the govt who are already infiltrated by Hydra in IM3 and Winter Soldier. He is able to make a snatch and grab on the asgardian genetics Tony has been secretly studying from the dagger that Thor was stabbed with. Leader can create a clone with this, he also creates Red Hulk. And is extremely upset about what he sees as being wrongfully imprisoned and abused by Shield in the past (in a tie in comic Blackwidow is forceful with him and Shield has him locked away like Abomination. Although Sterns didn't do much wrong... they are treating him like a test subject and he is learning even more from them.)

Agreed, I think there is a little bit of a genre change with this movie, but I wouldn't expect Stark to stop listening to Black Sabbath. rhodey may don the warmachine armor again in the very end because Tony tells the kid the War Machine name is cooler than Iron Patriot (the kid feels Iron Patriot is a cooler name, but Tony with his preference for Black Sabbath likes the name War Machine). "In the fields the bodies burning, (Taggert/ the extremis fire powers in the concepts... glowing orange eyes), as the War Machine keeps turning" making the Black Sabbath song selected for the credits more in line with War Machine this time.

I'm not sure about each and every song used, but I believe Foo Fighters was in the credits of Thor. They've had some Tool, Aenima, in one of the Iron Man 2 trailers.

In this movie Black Sabbath may not be completely unheard, as they will have a new album coming out soon... in April... with Ozzy back together with the members of Black Sabbath.
In the credits to this movie we may end up hearing "War Pigs", just as we heard the Iron Man song in IM1. War Pigs relates more to generals, War Machine etc (general Ross, Killian and Mandarin acting like Generals, war themes, politicians who hide themselves away and control things via remote, treating people just like pawns in chess-- Mandarin and Killian may control extremis soldiers remotely with their minds...)

The digital thing was sort of a marketing strategy at first. Eventually all those songs will be re-released but it's almost like things changed a little bit there too and there's some studio interference now. happens when anyone starts recording in different ways, with new people, new producers or sign on to other labels. some of the people involved with those early recordings technically own the rights to distribute them right now and things are being worked out.

Rhodey will be wearing the Iron Patriot armour in the final battle, the armour is shown stranded on two wires in mid air with Rhodey hanging onto it whilst there's an explosion below them..
Can someone upload that screen grab from the 2nd trailer if you know the shot I'm talking about, please? :)

I wanna play the game: how long will it take for Pepper to be objectified?

:D

Wonder when we'll get samples.

Yeah, I spy a genuine comic-book Iron Patriot (Norman Osborn style) armor in there, as well as a classic comic-book Iron Man look.

Awesome
this movie cannot get here sooner...

@Kubrick
I agree that there are much better bands out there than Imagine Dragons.
i don't take offense because technically I only work with them occasionally in Vegas.

Not a bad selection tho.
There are certain bands I get into only for the lyrics or only a few songs.
Magical mystery tour is my favorite album of all time, followed closely by Sgt. Pepper's because of the mixture of everything and the innovations the Beatles brought.

IMO The Beatles totally created the roots of what would become punk rock, hard rock, metal etc through forging a sound that was a mixture of styles and redefining rock in a big way at that point in time, almost dethroning Elvis. I still love the Beatles, they showed that you can evolve your sound and continue to make many hit songs. Almost re-inventing themselves across albums. Bands like that are what get to me. Bands like Queens of the Stone Age and Tool as well that are heavily into that whole psychedelic sound, or aren't afraid to try new things across albums and actually make it work. I do agree that some bands are too derivative.

many bands are playing stuff that is simple just to emphasize the lyrics, putting the "star" above the art and focusing on the singer too much. Or there's sometimes studio interference holding the band back and making them play to the crowd, changing their sound, turning their style more mainstream by using marketing tricks... The Beatles never really "sold out" imo. They kept true to what they wanted to do in the music...

I can find things I like in any band, but sometimes it's harder to find with mainstream rock bands. Once you go mainstream you have to deal with all the corporate interests, the leashes and the leeches...

goodnight

and for the record, John Bonham is the best rock drummer of all time. No drummer has replicated power, AND groove the way he did...with his natural feel, and technique, sound was not duplicable.
