The film is still good, it just could have reach greatness. The series has lacked a really good villain and continues to rest on RDJ shoulders.

yeah I have more questions I want to ask hahaha, but I'm just going to wait until I see it myself.

Probably best to just watch the film when it comes your way. You'll only ruin it more for yourself the more you know.

yup, I was fine with what I had been reading, but knowing the whole "twist" thing was unexpected and something I would have liked to see on film. I still don't know the context but knowing that it happens kinda sucks lol. For example when I was TDKR I did not expect the whole Talia twist thing so that made it a lot cooler to me.

Just got back from the midnight showing, I must say it's a great film. I loved it.

Any questions you want answering I will, but I'm sure there aren't many that haven't gone unanswered.

Some thoughts
I loved how Extremis was used. I like how we were given multiple 'Mallen' characters, it really drove home the danger of Extremis that was in the original arc.

The much debated Mandarin twist. If you don't know what it is when it happens you'll probably be shocked. I knew it was gonna happen and was still took aback by how far they took it. However, I liked how he was used and if we got the classic Mandarin he just wouldn't have fit into this story.

One question I do have, I'm sure I read somewhere a while back that the film ended with Tony saying "I am Tony Stark".

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

I have seen the movie, if anyone wants to be spoiled to oblivion PM me, I won't do it on the boards...

Some US bloggers are putting up their reviews. Can't say how happy I am that a lot are saying you can tell it's a Shane Black film.

I do like that a lot of these reveals show how fake a lot of the stuff that was reported about the movie was.

I can't wait to watch this again, just not in 3D...

Whoop-dee-do!!! Because that's what an "IRON MAN" movie should really be about: being identifiable as a Shane black film.

Like how the Dark Knight trilogy is identifiable as Chris Nolan movies?

That's because the Iron Man comic book series has *always* lacked a really good villain. Ever.

People who try to define comic-book Mandarin as "a really good villain" are delusional and in need of self-medication.

iron man 3 proves just how unbelievably wrong LokiD was about absolutely everything he predicted :P

i'm really happy this film is scoring so well on RT, it deserves it - it didn't play it safe and took risks, which is so rare in big studio blockbusters.

Yeah cause I'm a Shane Black fan. Just saying why I'm looking forward to the film.

I wonder if anyone archived his speculation to see what he got wrong and right.

EXACTLY my point. Batman should be known for the "greatness" of batman. Not for made up stories by a director. The character and the story arcs should be the stars and what makes the film based on them great. Directors are there to guide the process not hijack the concept.

I have heard a lot of strange things on these boards, but this might take the cake.

Still the think the movie could've used a cooler character like Ghost.

False dichotomy alert! False dichotomy alert!

Its good to see this movie getting rave reviews, and that the twist, while disappointing for some does not keep the film from being great.

Yeah, the reviews have me very optimistic. Looking forward to seeing the film sometime soon.
