I was thinking the same thing although I'm fairly certain a red faceplate would be asstastic

You have a point. I just can't get over how out of place the helm looks on that suit. Surely they had to take that into consideration when they designed this one... right?

I don't hate it....but I have a feeling this isn't the final armor.....I think this will probably his minor armor akin this the suitcase armor

Hmmm kinda on the fence about it. Hopefully it doesn't look so matted in the movie. I'm sure it will grow on me once I see it in action. Makes me.wonder if this is the extremis armor or just a new redesign he starts the movie with

I agree, the helmet looks Asif it were tacked on afterwards.

After looking at the newest pics it does look like this is something akin to the suitcase armour, the indentations on the helmet make me think so.

It's okay, but I'm not a big fan of the beige color they used instead of the gold used on the other suits. The suit just doesn't look IM-ish enough for my tastes.

I can't shake my initial impression of it. When I first took a quick glance at the SHH article, my first reaction was "it looks like an Iron Man action figure that fell in a bucket of cream paint". I'm assuming it'll look much better on film, but right now I'm not loving it.

I dont know what to think of this armor I like parts of it but not only is there too much gold but the gold they chose looks more like champagne gold or creamy. Hell the faceplate looks plastic instead of metal and I think they over designed the faceplate with so many lines, oh and now it has no disc-like ears.

They should have made it entirely gold.

I'd like to think they'd save the extremis armor for a later date, as I feel like that's a pretty big reveal. In terms of his armor that will be the most radical change yet so hopefully they'll keep it under wraps for as long as they can. Hopefully this is just a redesign he uses at the beginning of the film, but at this point it's much to early to tell.

I'm definitely noticing a kind of "circuit board" vibe to this suit...which would be in line with the Extremis arc and Tony having circuitry embedded in his body...

I'm sure there will be a more advanced armor in the movie, Tony is always 2 steps ahead.

I like that they went with something different, but if there IS another armor in the film, it has to be an entire redesign. The slight augmentations have worked for 3 films. I'd like to see a radically different, more sleek suit (like Granov's extremis armor). The helmet and faceplate have stayed nearly identical for every armor! And bring back the Triangle unibeam...for some reason the Triangle conveys more power to me than the circle

I agree that the triangle looks more distinctly "powerful" than the circle, however I think for this design the circle fits the rounded/curved aesthetic much much better.

:barf:

The new suit appears dreadful, I detest the color scheme and armor design. I honesty thought the suit for IM3 would feature a new creative design or something sexy amongst the lines of Bleeding Edge armor. The inspiration for the last three armors for Iron Man has been lackluster, in my opinion.

I'm certainly preparing myself for this to be the "final" suit of the film and that the Mark VII gets the majority of the screentime in the interim. That way should things shake out differently I'll be pleasantly surprised.

The armor design look great, just not the color scheme.

I think Roger Moore would look good in that armour.

Agreed. It looks like a cream/light tan 70s or 80s suit (ie business/casual suit not suit of armour) where it almost looks like it's flared out like bell bottoms and you can see his red shoes below.

It almost looks already horribly dated before it has even come out like some awful 70s fashions.

First reaction: too gold.

Hopefully it grows on me

I am not blown away by it, but for all we know this will have as much screen time at the red/silver version from part 2 - Marvel has done fine by me thus far so I will wait and see...

Is nice to see something a little bit more different. I'll wait to see it motion before judging it.
