Joker "The Joker" in development with Todd Phillips and Martin Scorsese attached? - Part 2

Everyone’s favorite YouTube Critic ( Grace Randolph ) , think this is the best film of the year.

Shows like South Park and Sunny are grandfathered in. I doubt South Park could premiere today.
i can't even imagine lol... imagine if it premiered today with the school shooting episode. the world would end.

Sh** got really awkward on Jimmy Kimmel with Joaquin Phoenix.

A lot of talk show appearances are rehearsed and prepped beforehand so I doubt Phoenix was actually embarrassed or surprised lol. At least I hope so lol

Well Rick & Morty and Big Mouth are basically successors to what South Park began so that statement rings a bit hollow to me. You don’t see articles about how South Park is responsible for our culture or ridiculous crap like that because we all know they’ve made a movie poking fun at that idea.

I didn't really like the movie all that much but not for all the hate and complaints its getting.

Basically, Todd Phillips made a deconstructionist take on the Joker and Joker-like archetypes. Phoenix is a more realistic and disturbing version of the Joker. I think the reason people are scared of it is because it seems more palatable and realistic. It's like Phillips is tapping into fears people have today. But I mean...don't good stories do that? Shouldn't stories be made that tap into what we are afraid of and show them front and center?

Also, it's just a movie at the end of the day. It's just make believe. Movies and art should be allowed to explore subject matter and things that make us uncomfortable.

Joaquin's pretty great at going along with the bit. I don't think it was something that caught him off guard at all.

Now I just want more outtakes and behinds the scenes footage honestly

Guys you have no idea what you're about to watch. I never felt this anxiety with a movie before. This one is TERRIFYING and DISTURBING. It is DARK AF. But it's so beautifully done and so sad... Kinda like The Road.
As a cbm fan, would you say it's a "must see movie" ?

This is DC at it's finest. This is pure DC. Dark, disturbing, sad, majestic... Watch it. You may like it, your may hate it.

Some people will dislike the message this movie is giving, because it never tries to address it at 100%, but show you how it can happen, and why it happens. it's not your kind of movie Hollywood does these days, giving a bland political message. This one shows you the worst of every point of view.

This one doesn't feel like any other comic book movie. Feels more like a sequel to Requiem for a Dream. Don't go to this movie expecting anything hopeful. It's pure nihilism. I understand now why so many American critics disliked this one. It isn't a feel good movie. It isn't a movie that wants to give you something to be proud of, or make an statement. It shows you everything that's wrong with the world, and the way the Joker sees it.

It's the perfect movie for the Joker. There's no hero in this story.

IMHO it's not a DC comic book story. The comic book connections are superficial at best.

To me it's more like a standalone elseworlds DC Vertigo crime story that got permission to use some Batman and Joker character names.

If you're fine with that, then cool, this might be a great experience for you.

How was the society?

I liked Zack Snyder's BvS: Extended Cut, his MoS was.. alright, but I feel he was not the best choice for Justice League. Todd Philips seems to have gotten what he wanted to show in the movie, which is what makes it exciting for me.

And Phoenix... Oh my god. Phoenix is just... wow.
How was the society?
Best scene was Joker shouting "Gamers, Rise up!" at live TV and dancing.

Without joking, there's a dialogue that i know will make everyone smile.
