In BoP they didn't even show his face OR bring Leto back, so I think that pretty much confirmed suspicions with that specific Joker at least.

He was pretty openly upset with WB over Phoenix's movie, right? Factor that in with him jumping over to Morbius and the poor reception to his Joker (which if it were to ever come back would appear in an HBO Max series/short which itself is a long shot)... And obviously Matt Reeves and Pattinson are doing their own thing so.

The Ayer Cut if anything will likely make him look worse because his performance was clearly fundamentally bad and if Ayer’s track record with a few exceptions is any indicator his cut is probably an absolute nightmare, we have no reason to believe a Batfleck series is happening aside from the vaguest possibility and we don’t know if he’d be there and a Joker card Easter egg is hardly a scene.

Leto’s Joker was possibly the most hated part of a hated franchise and we know he was extremely bitter toward WB for a variety of reasons.

AT&T want a Batfleck series (polishing the old Deathstroke script that Jay Oliva read and loved. The draft before Geoff Johns got a hold of it). It may not happen if Ben says no but Joker had a good sized role in that.

this is what Snyder’s JL apparently sets up. It’s a scene between Luthor, Deathstroke, Joker and Harley Quinn

There’s no guarantee that Flashpoint is how Batfleck dies, because Snyder may end up getting the opportunity to finish his JL arc.

Batfleck dies at the end of that storyline. No fakeouts.

Even if the mini series doesn’t happen, Leto will have a much larger role in SS. We’ll see the full original vision Ayer had for him. So we can judge it properly. Either i’ll warm up to him or i’ll think it’s still mostly garbage. I personally loved the comic con trailer for Suicide Squad back in 2016. Ayer says it’s in line with that, so I’m willing to give it a chance.

Leto - 1 villainous team up movie + 1 possible Batman season + 1 possible cameo in a hero team up movie
Phoenix - 1 solo Joker movie (possible sequel)

At this point, he obviously COULD, but then, with the exception of the more positively-received cast, they might as well just make a new DC Cinematic Universe from the (not entirely) ground up.

But since we're talking about Leto specifically, if they wanna stick with the punk gangster angle then I think Walton Goggins would be pretty cool. If they want a more classic Joker but still also want someone who looks like Leto, then I guess they could get Gyllenhaal. But at this point I'm just kinda done with most of that universe in general. It's been hard for me to drum up excitement for anything DCEU-related since 2017 because deep down I already knew WB had dug themselves into a hole.

If Ben wants out, that’s it. But if he’s on board, I see them reaching out to Leto. It’s not the same people running the show. The environment is different to how it was a couple of years ago.

It is, but let’s not forget that Leto in addition to being universally panned was also a source of terrible publicity. I genuinely do think they’d recast.

I’m very amused that Gunn wound up with the Squad sequel given his very public disgust with Leto.

I read a few things about Joker and Harley in Arkham. A breakout scene. Would explain why Leto was in Joker makeup in July 2016 (in London where Zack was shooting). Leto posted IG stories. The info came from ppl who got some **** right so it’s a good chance. And I’ve heard Snyder hint at wanting to use him in his future timeline. We’ll see how it plays out next spring.

Ehhh The Flash is a multi verse concept. If that movie bombs and JL does well on HBO, the priority will suddenly flip flop. It’s a multi verse so Keaton could move forward and Affleck could move forward as well. Two different universes. Batfleck dying doesn’t have to happen to set up the relaunch of the Burtonverse. In fact, you don’t write a death scene like that unless Ben wants it to be his swan song. If negotiations take place soon bc Ben is feeling re-energized, then they won’t kill him off. It wouldn’t make sense.

I imagined post-apocalyptic Letoker as directed by Snyder and my head started hurting. Also my soul. The Snyder Cut might be okay but the rest of that arc sounds so mind numbingly awful I’d sort of love to see it.

See, the complication there is that Flashpoint quite possibly straight up replaces Affleck with Keaton. I could very easily be wrong, but those rumours sounded like intentional studio leaks to me.

I suppose this is getting a bit diverted from Joker.
