The Joker Thread - Part 1

The problem with having Eddie on ignore is that it only works when I'm signed in.

In the movie it's most likely a voice modulator but that's beside the point.

No augmented Joker voice.

Riddler's voice is pretty obviously voice modulated. It sounds robotic. But it's probably part of the character in the movie to make him more mysterious.

Which is kinda the point I was trying to make in that Reeves could do something similar to enhance the Joker's voice. Scarecrow's voice in Begins was scary af

Saw this on the Gram today and thought it’d fit what a lot of us have talked about with Joker being mysterious but not necessarily dark. As an introduction, this seems pretty creepy but keeps in line with his true colors or loud suits so to say.

Regarding Bale & Heath being the same height, they're...not (according to Imdb anyway), but Heath being taller is so miniscule it's pretty negligible. Bats certainly doesn't come off in-film as being bigger than the guy, anyway, maybe the the suit/boots give him a teensy-tiny edge but you don't notice it.

It's all pretty "who cares?" at the end of the day though. None of the movie actors bar Affleck (I guess Kilmer's up there, and West if we count TV) have been books-Batman size anyway, not like 6'3" giant-shouldered Bats is some live-action standard. Half of the artists draw him more standard-guy-size in the first place, especially pre-Miller.

****ing this.

Especially for a slightly-more-mature (ie. 40s rather than 20s/30-ish) take, somehow the self-indulgent dandy vibe works better that way.

Love that look. Maybe the chin's a *little* exaggerated, not sure I'd want prosthetics to go quite to that degree in live-action with a real actor, but it's definitely the direction to steer the ship in here. In the ballpark of Jack's look, just a way different build for the actor, and you characterize him as not a greedy gangster who's coping with his new look with laughter, but as friggin' clown-Satan incarnate.

Maybe "goth/noir" it up another 10% too, some Veidt & The Crow/Dark City-ishness to the mood of the thing.

Height can easily be worked around with just good camera angling and thick shoes. They did that with Robert Downey Jr for a decade. So height is kinda whatever to me unless the difference is so ridiculous that the above doesn't work

Gorman would actually be a very interesting choice for this.
