The Joker Thread - Part 1

Y’all still think the actor they choose will look like a pale version of themselves lol. Especially when Colin’s face is unrecognizable. It’s not about the actor’s facial features overall. It’ll be about their mannerisms, how they use their eyes, their voice, their physicality etc.

Art Vandelay 4 Caleb Landry Jones confirmed.

Isn't also kind of short? I assumed you'd all want a taller Joker.

I don’t particularly care either way, especially seeing as how the Joker was rather short in BTAS. At the end of the day, what matters above all else is the performance and the writing.

The more I heard the CLJ fancast the more I hope he's never cast as Joker.

Leto and Phoenix are tiny.

Imdb says Phoenix is 5'8", Leto 5'11".

"Tiny" seems a little extreme (though 5'8"s a short dude). 5'11" seems about average or just barely under, meh.

But yeah, I tend to prefer the tall lanky gangly-freak-Conan-O'Brien look for Joker too.

5'11" seems really generous for Leto. But then again I suppose I wouldn't know.

Haha, yeah, was just speaking more generally. You know, lanky skinny dude with long legs and a long face. Not 6'4" pompadoured Irishman who touches his nipples while dancing.

Okay, fine, we can include the last part.

Heath’s Joker was shorter than Bale’s Batman yes. Even if Heath and Christian are the same height.

Heath also hunched over a bit in scenes like the mob entrance. I think doubling down on that with Adam Driver as the broad hunched over BTAS silhouette could be pretty cool (if someone "big" like him was chosen). I do like the idea of a more physical Joker this time around after having Arthur Fleck. Part of why I want Gosling's physicality so much. I want a Joker this time around that's truly menacing, imposing and in total control. I do agree Batman should be taller than him, but I don't think that'll be an issue because Pattinson looks huge in the suit and the boots + ears add a good amount.

Adam Driver definitely has that ideal lanky Joker build, when he's not jacked up, and his unique face would lend itself fairly well to prosthetics, could be super interesting. He'd probably be my number three choice behind CLJ and DDL.

I don't really want Joker to be imposing or anything that would probably make him feel too masculine. I much prefer when he has a slight metro quality, even if he looks terrifying here.

I just wish his voice wasn't so monotone.

You guys remember what Ledger's speaking voice sounded like, right?

Yeah, that dude had an Australian accent, can't have no Joker with Australian accent.

They could always fiddle around with his voice in post, like they did with Dano's.
