The Joker Thread - Part 1

I completely forgot he was even in Dunkirk to be perfectly honest with you
To be honest everybody keep forgetting about that film as a whole lol!. It was good movie like Interstellar, they just don't have the same magic as Batman Begins,The Dark Knight,Inception,Insomnia or the Prestige. Tenet look like it might be back to form for Nolan!

Dunkirk is better than most of those.

Eh, I liked Dunkirk. The soundtrack "dragging on" made the tension feel that much bigger IMO

If they were to cast a Mexican-American actor to play Joker, I think Tony Dalton (Eduardo "Lalo" Salamanca on Better Call Saul) would be a pretty solid choice

Paul Bettany is my first choice if they want an actor who almost played Joker in a previous film

He’s my favourite character on tv right now, great actor but too old I think.

It's my favorite TV show that's on right now. I honestly both hate and love the fact that Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul have ruined a bunch of other shows for me. The cinematography is a huge part of the appeal for me.

If Matt Reeves sees enough potential in Harry Styles to cast him as Joker, to hopefully avoid all the fangirls glorifying him, they should give him chemical burns.

Honestly what are the chances of them casting CLJ? I'd say he's my first choice but like others have said, we'd probably get another dirty Joker although I'd be interested in a Joker who has an "ugly" face and dirty hair that's all gelled up with tailored suits to provide a nice contrast

I'd say zero. He's not a star.
There is something to be said for that since Joaquin Phoenix was relatively well-known (not like, say, RDJ levels but well-known enough). However, Heath wasn't really an A-lister when HE was cast IIRC. If they do cast an A-lister I'd go for Paul Bettany at this particular moment.

If they choose either an unknown or an up-and-comer (the latter seems more likely) then a role like this could make them popular.

Cool if you dig it, the film isn't bad just a movie that doesn't hold any weight and kinda forgettable in my opinion. His other films people are still talking about except Dunkirk and Interstellar.

Lol that's what people said about Robert and Heath when they was cast. I'm pretty sure if he is a good enough actor he will get lost in the role.

Personally, I don't consider Bettany an A-lister.

I like Paul as a actor I don't he is the right age and him being in MCU will kinda be weird. I'm still up in the air with Andy Serkis as Alfred after him playing Klaw. Then again I know he will do a great job and he is one of those actors who is a master of disguise. I would love to see someone who is around Robert's age and someone that is out of left field. I know who ever Matt cast it will divide fans until a trailer or make up test lol. Like I said before if MGK wasn't on drugs or wasn't so damn cocky he would be great for The Joker or they can get Xavier Samuel.

Regarding Phoenix, he's a lot more well known than you give him credit for. Let's not forget he was the villain of Gladiator, and that movie came out 20 years ago. I'd say he's not that far away from RDJ. As for Heath, he had Brokeback Mountain and A Knight's Tale under his built. While not a household name, he was still a known actor. Certainly much more so than a lot of the actors some of you guys keep pulling for.

On social media and in the real world, one of the top films from Nolan that I hear about is Interstellar. It’s massively popular among the Letterboxd and “film twitter” world. On a lot of people’s top ten lists and critically/commercially successful. I have some issues with the screenplay but it’s in my top 3 Nolan’s. And Dunkirk is Tarantino’s second favourite film of the decade. Not sure where you’re looking tbh.

I'm a film buff and I have my own opinion. I'm one of the few people who doesn't call Nolan a God like M. Night or Peele. I was a fan of Nolan before he made Batman not after The Dark Knight. When I talk to anybody the only movie they bring up is Dark Knight and Inception. I bring up his other movies because I feel like The Prestige,Insomnia,Memento,Batman Begins and Dark Knight are my fave films of his. I could care less about rotten tomatoes or what anybody say.I don't let fandom or what some critics say affect my judgment. If I like the film,I like the film and if I don't like it or think its good but forgettable isn't that my right? I studied films so much I can pick apart any films, even Nolan's movies. I just like to enjoy them what they are entertainment. Don't forget I was the one who recommend Harry Style because of Dunkirk. Didn't say I hated the movie or it sucked. I said it was good just not my fave Nolan film and it was kinda forgettable in my OPINION. Btw I'm a Tarantino fan and he also loved Superman Returns and other weird movies. I have a love/hate with Superman Returns but like QT will say it's his opinion.Hell he didn't even know that Nightmare City was about infected people not zombies until the director school him lol.And this isn't personal attack either just saying its okay to have a opinion so it's all good cheers!:yay:

Being in one thing does not negate being able to be in another thing. Tbh, Bettany deserves it. I remember when he was like front-and-center in Joker fancasts and I was DYING for it.

Dude... HELL no lol

Likewise. He’s barely a B-lister, if that.

Really don’t see how an actor acting in a different movie makes it weird and MGK as Joker sounds like hell on Earth.

... what? Are you saying those two people called him a God, or you’re calling them a God as opposed to Nolan?

He is a great actor and very underrated as hell! Just not the right age for this batman.
Dude... HELL no lol
Look I am not going to disagree with you on this. I like Mgk except when he is being cocky, the drugs or getting a Killshot from a Legend. He does has the look, height and some acting chops.By saying that a part of me will be saying HELL NO myself if they even wink at giving him the roll lol

Yeah but like I said he can act just throwing his name out there wasn't trying to be serious. Plus it might be hell on earth but at least he is not in his 50s or 60s like the rest of fancasting. Mgk is a okay guy at times just don't him nowhere near this movie unless he mature and get his act together. I'm pretty sure if you would had took the time and look back I said. I think I said he has a drug problem and way too cocky or getting himself owned.

Ha this must be your first site or forums.I been too many sites and seen too many youtube and comments on people calling Nolan a God or in Nolan we trust? Dude makes good movies but come on! I don't like it when they do that **** with Kevin Feige,Peele or M Night(we saw how it go to his head and how he to work his way back.. to kinda fall again with Glass but you get the point)
