Come on there are a number of actors out there who were award worthy from the start of their career (like Ellen Page or kid actor Haley Osment). I mean yeah he definitely seems a bit nervous and unexperienced at some parts, but it's easy to recognize a talent when you see one...he just lost himself into the Joker in some scenes and that really impressed me. Plus I've seen some professional actors out there who aren't nearly as good as that.
I'm not disagreeing with your point, but I cannot begin to comprehend what you saw in the YT videos that makes you think he's anywhere near the likes of Haley and Ellen at the start of their careers.

Like I said, he's doing what's already been done before. It's an impression/imitation. It's a decent one, but that's ultimately all that it is. Haley and Ellen put in brilliant, original performances. BIG difference.

That's your opinion and it's totally valid. I think that guy is quiet original in some episodes though. It looks like an imitation of Heath because he looks too much like him...we can't be sure if Nolan wants a carbon copy of Heath or a new Joker from scratch. I'm not sure which I'd like better. I mean, we could have Johnny Depp acting in his own creative way and look and we would love all it very much...

That's not it at all. I've seen around 6 or so vids on that channel, and imitation is exactly what it is. Feel free to bring up something he's done that isn't based on what Heath already created, and then I might reconsider this point.

Yea he has taken a character Heath has created, imitated it, and done a couple different sketchs of different situations. He hasn't really brought anything truly unique or original to the table.

It's easily the best Heath Joker impression I've seen, I'll give him that.

That episode I think he's adding something from his own imagination.

When did we see Heath Joker getting jealous?

Wait a minute. What if Mark Hammil died after 10 episodes of BTAS?
1) Should the Joker never appear again in BTAS, JL, JLU, etc?
2) Should they recast with someone who would do his own thing because "it would be imitating teh Hammilz"?

No, the best thing they could have done is recast with someone who could carry on as if nothing had happened to the character.
Heath and Nolan defined this Joker, yes, but now its a character going in the history books. Why cant another actor take up the mantle and carry on the character as if nothing had happened? Look at what happened with Rachel Dawes, Clarice Starling from Hannibal, etc...

I agree. I actually like the actress who plays her in TDK but I couldn't relate to the new Rachel in any way.

I wish he tells us who he is. I found a radio interview on his site, he refuses to say his name and only refers to himself as Dave. Seeing his acting I think he might be a stage actor or maybe did something small for TV. He mentioned that some big studios contacted him, but not Warner Bros, not yet.

Am I the only one that hates his Joker impression? It just comes off as a bored fan who thinks he can do the voice. Not that spectacular IMO

I found he was acting to much like Heath and not enough like the Joker, everything seems..planned, Heaths version everything seemed...done on the spot, like it would take 1 take, and gave this sense of chaos in his acting even.

This guy, well, I don't feel Chaos coming from him, I just feel another impersonator, a good one, but not no where near where I feel it would be acceptable in a big screen movie.

Kudos for giving us something though.

He's funny. Ill give him that, but I know someone who has the sklls and worthlessness to take over from Heath...JOHNNY DEPP

But it would've been inconceivable for BTAS to finish with the Joker after only ten episodes. Nolan would only need to direct one movie not involving the Joker, and we don't even know what part he would've played in the third had Heath lived. It's possible he could be written out and the story could still be excellent.

BTW, I'm not on board with the Joker blogs guy replacing Heath in B3. I would be amazed if Nolan replaced an Oscar winner with some youtube actor.

But "actors", even if they have won Oscars, are not an elite aristocrasy with a genetic advantage in their art. They are just people who are paid to act. If they guy on Youtube can do the same job in the same way as a paid actor, it doesn't make any difference that his origins are amatuer and humble. He could be given a chance.

JOHNNY DEPP, BELIEVE ME. Youll be glad he didnt play Riddler if he played Joker.

Having an impressionist (a good one) take over from Heath,is basically like kicking crap on his name and Oscar. You want somebody is worthy and most importantly, capable,to take over that role. Johnny Depp is that man. He is the worthiest and most capable actor to follow in Heath's creation. Any direction Johnny chooses to play the Joker in, I know he will be amazing. But I also know, nobody, not even Johnny, will be able to outdo Heath. Not in a million years. Johnny can do his thing and perfect him,but he would be perfecting Heath. It was Heath who perfected HIS Joker and nothing can replace that truth.

As they say. "The show must go on". Heath wouldnt want to disappoint us by not having Joker in anymore, because of him. He will probably looking down saying...

"Lets see if that ***hole can outdo me. Good luck to him". lol.

Why is it that Johnny Depp is suggested for literally every role that comes down the pike?

You are right, but The Joker is one of a few roles that would suit him very well.

There are a lot of good actors, but few are suggested nearly as often as Depp is.

Well, to be honest, there are few actors who can transform as completely as Depp can. He's one of the best in the business. Also, Depp still looks fairly young, so he could possibly play a good number of roles, hence why he is suggested for so many.

And really, Depp would be one of the few actors I would trust to take over for Heath. If they do recast, it's going to be one hell of a time for the actor who takes over. They'll have to stay close enough to Heath's Joker so that it doesn't seem completely different, but change it enough that they make it their own and not just an imitation. In short, it's going to be one hell of a balancing act, and Depp's one of the few actors skilled enough to pull it off.
