Justice League The Justice League Casting Thread - Part 4

I think they cancelled the WW series knowing that WB wanted a JL movie and wanted to use Adrianne on the big screen not on TV.

That's possible, but the story they give is that no network wanted to pick up the show. Now there is talk of a different series based titled "Amazon", which will have a similar type of format as "Smallville" and "Arrow". Palicki has been under consideration going back to Justice League Mortal. I won't be surprised if she isn't going to at least get a screen test for this time around. It doesn't mean she will get the part, but I would find it hard to believe that they would discount the fact that she has had that type of experience in her resume.

Plus the pictures and synopsis for WW on NBC looked and sounded terrible. What was she a corporate woman by day and crime fighter by night:huh: So the Batman/Iron Man theme but with WW?

Adrian P. is a good looking chick, but that WW outfit did nothing for her. Wonder boobs going in opposite directions. Nasty blue latex and then blue stretch pants....yeah that show was not crash! lol.

I would like to see Amazon take place on the island for the first part of season and then switch to her in the city possibly. I think they could really explore WW's backstory, gods, mystical creatures etc. if they go that route.

I have mentioned it someplace else too but I really think they could make Amazon into a Sherlock style series consisting of 2 seasons of 3 "TV Movies" each and connecting it with JLA- mostly based on the island and maybe moving to America towards the end.

It's obviously not possible if they rope in a bigger name like Emily Blunt but it could surely work with an unknown or erstwhile TV actors?
My network of choice is obviously HBO.

I see Emily Blunt as the comedy role type actress can Emily be serious can she come off as being a butt kicker.

Why don't they do everything on the island as a prequel with a younger actress (for the tv series). Then keep Emily Blunt as that WW but in JL, as the 30 year old Diana. Then you only do a WW movie with Blunt, after the team-up if the fans really want it. In that case you have the movie set after JL.

Watch Looper. This is probably why me and many others are now down with her playing the part.

I wouldn't mind seeing WB doing a 30 minute introducing each character where WB puts each one on youtube.

Emily is an incredible actress. I watched Boudica the other day and I just loved her.

You can watch the full movie on YouTube.

But, she is sooooo tiny!
Tiny? She got in pretty good shape last year and that's nothing compared to the shape I know she can get in for WW. Height is not a factor in film. And being physical and a good actress makes up for anything else.

Wonder Woman is 6'0" and I remember people going after Keaton when they found out that he was Batman because he was only 5'9 where Batman is 6'3" and I know Christian Bale is only 6'0" 3 inches away from the Bruce Wayne height but Adrianne is 5'11".

Like I said, height means nothing in film. Especially these days. Look at Tom Hardy as Bane. Boots and camera angles.

I would rather get a great actress who can look the part and get in shape than settling for a mediocre actress who is a bit taller and is hot.

I just listened to her and to be honest her voice is nice. It is mature, not deep, but has a strong womanly tone to it. At first I thought she was going to have an annoyingly high squeaky voice like the wrestler Chyna, but her voice is actually pleasant.

I wouldn't mind that voice for WW.

I agree. There's nothing wrong with her voice.

TINY? No one claimed "TINY" when people were falling head over heels for Megan Fox as WW not so long ago (regretful but true). I think Emily has a good height (5'7" is like my minimum, so yeah, she passes that) and has the right body type for Diana.

Anyway, WW is 6'0" as you say... Superman is 6'4". Since out Superman is 6'0"- 4 inches shorter, we can easily accept a 5'7"-5'8" WW!

And apart from Looper she's soon to be seen in "All You Need Is Kill" where she is playing a hot-shot veteran alien-exterminator!

On your suggestion shauner... I did give this a thought too and it can certainly work. As long as they can make the TV Series good enough to be canon with the JL film without any quality compromise, I don't mind it one bit (that's one thing I have against Smallville and the idea of Welling taking up the Superman mantle on film- the production quality of Smallville wasn't up to scratch and so wasn't the acting of most involved).

Maybe Blunt could make a cameo appearance towards the end to make sure everyone realizes it is a lead up! LOL.

The fact remains that no actress ever cast in that role has ever been shorter than 5'10". I have no reason to believe that they would cast a new actress that were shorter (unless they were a diamond in the ruff).

Who cares about the past actresses or height. If she's 5'7 or more it could work. If they can make Hardy work for Bane, WW will be a breeze unless the actress is 5'4 or 5'6.

And aNarcHy I actually don't think they need to address that the tv show is a prequel. It wouldn't hurt but it would be just for the purpose of giving an audience a season or 2 to show WW's origins. But of course a Blunt cameo, or a flashback in the JL movie would be a fine move.

And people actually wanted Megan Fox? hahaha shame on them. People don't know what acting means or what a character is obviously. It always makes me laugh when someone on the internet does a fancast and that person can't even act, they just go by their look and match it up. It's like a kid going OMG she looks it! She should play it! Quite frankly the Gina Carano choices fall into that category.

The TV show "Amazon", if it goes ahead, won't just be set on the island. The plan is to show the early years of Diana away from island. Ideally, because casting this part is so hard, it would be nice if the show was really successful in showing the early years of WW that it could spin off into a feature movie or something like that. But it's CW, and that's a bit iffy, in terms of, if it is successful, the show could just go on for a few seasons and just be its own thing, like "Smallville."

It will be interesting to see who they cast. It's obviously a hard part to cast.

Maybe they can have a version of WW for the JL movies, and then when Batman gets rebooted in solo movies down the line, they can go with a new version of Wonder Woman in feature films too.
