Justice League The Justice League Casting Thread - Part 4

I'm not bragging but I'm pretty awesome.

Also, I suggested this in another thread: Zachary Quinto for Batman. Thoughts? He can do dark characters well.

Quinto's voice is too high. He'd be a great "creepy Joker" though IMO. It's not that far from Sylar if you think about it.

His voice is too high? It got pretty grumbly and deep at times when he was Sylar. Actually his voice was part of the reason I picked him to be honest.

Still one of my favorite sitcoms! Christ how depressing

Remember when they took the "Pizza Place" off the title and Nathan Fillion became a regular cast member?

Yep totally remember that. Most people I know don't remember the show at all.

Totally underrated show. Glad it was on for so long. I still have copies on VHS

Quinto will never be cast as Batman. Sorry but facts are facts.

Quinto is Spock. DC isn't gonna to that to themselves. Casting him as Batman gives you a detriment right off the bat. They'll get another Bale-type actor.

No Spock for Batman please. If they recast I'd prefer it to be someone with no ties to any other big franchises.

I don't see the issue. Star Trek isn't a superhero franchise. Other Star Trek actors get suggested for superhero roles all the time.

Did it ruin Dredd for you guys when Karl Urban played the role?

Fan casting is fun. But how many have every been cast? Exactly

Urban wore a helmet that didn't show 3/4 of his face. And he also didn't play one of the most iconic science fiction characters of all time, like Spock.

You're suggesting something along the lines of Chris Hemsworth going off to play Superman.

years ago back when tom cruise was attached to iron man and that didn't happen, i said rdj as iron man b/c of his drug use and alcoholism as a joke. who would've thought i was right? everyone else "knew" it would be johnny depp. haha.

looking back on it, i couldn't give a crap. it's not like i'm a casting director. why can't we just have fun with casting without someone take a huge crap all over whomever is suggested because they have "insider information" that x person will not be cast as a fact? i mean be reasonable, atleast.

karl urban having more than one franchise doesn't mean anything. he's not the star of star trek. quinto and pine are.plus he wore a helmet in dredd and no one could recognize him. a star of one huge franchise rarely goes on to star in another iconic franchise. han solo was part of an ensemble and indy was a headliner. but one is sci fi the other is action adventure. just like rdj with iron man and sherlock. chris evans doesn't count because he's not human torch anymore.

I don't think anyone has the "insider information" to discount any casting. I'm not arguing Quinto is likely, but it is silly to say that casting is impossible. Star Trek isn't even a superhero franchise. If Quinto had already played a superhero or supervillain that'd be one thing.

I don't think it's impossible (few things are) but I don't think it's any more likely than Donald Glover playing Batman or Tom Cruise playing Batman. So if it's not a likely candidate I just don't want to discuss it. Seems like a waste of time.

BTW I would have loved to see that Tom Cruise Iron Man movie. Just saying.

I'm waiting for the five words that will send fear and chills down every fanboy's spine.

Selena. Gomez. Is. Wonder. Woman.

Dun-dun-DUUUUUUUNNNNNN! :o

Maybe you missed this movie called X-Men Origins: Wolverine

He was great as Wade. It was the director's fault that Deadpool was such a disaster.

Doesn't matter whose fault it was, the character will be remembered poorly and he was/is the character. And he could have very well contested to that god awful treatment. But it proves he was more about the $

Same could be said for Green Lantern. The script/director/story/etc failed him but he did alright. Doesn't change the fact the movie sucked and he sucked in it

Because we're in the land of try-hard fanboys.

I'm warming up to the idea of Rebecca as Diana. So good on you Sub-Zero.

What ruined Dredd for me was Dredd. Very disappointing. And I can't stand Karl Urban... But to your point, no it wasn't because he was Bones.

We get that you just dont like Reynolds, but using how bad a movie eventually turns out to be as a stick to beat him with is ridiculous. Some of the greatest actors of all time have been in god-awful movies.

Who said I don't like Reynolds? He's one of my favorite actors. I was just talking to someone else here about being a fan of his since Two Guys, A Girl and a Pizza Place.

But just because I like him a lot and think he's talented doesn't mean I'm gonna excuse his crappiest performances. He was terrible in Blade 3, Wolverine and Green Lantern. So what? I'm not allowed to say just how bad I think he was in them? And what do they have to do with him being a good actor? Doesn't matter how good he is if he gave bad performances.
