I found this image over on deviantart (by poumap) and wanted to post it here and get some feedback...

The thought of an older, wiser more mature Batman in comparison to the rest of the Justice League is very interesting...and Josh Brolin in this pic looks amazing!!!

and this would be our superman imagine brolin/hamm team up!!!

This would kick all kinds of ass!!! I'd be SO down for that!!! :ybat::super:

Never happen though. :(

Right now if Bale's not coming back I'm leaning towards a self contained JL with Joe Manganiello as Batman and Armie Hammer as Superman!

If Bale isn't playing the Batman I know him as, it lessens the impact for me. But I do agree in not crossing the franchises over in solo films.

Which is quite funny because previously Armie Hammer had been cast as Batman (JL: Mortal) and Manganiello was the runner up for Superman (Man of Steel).

You know, Hammer does have that clean, square jaw look perfect for Superman. I wouldn't be adverse to his casting but it's all moot considering Cavill will be Superman.

Which leads me to the height issue - literally the only reason I could previously think of for not having Hammer as Bats was because I wouldnt want Bats to be taller than Supes. Now that Joe M has been suggested, it would still make Bats considerably taller than Superman, so it would be a no for me.

Simply put, IMO cast someone shorter so Supes isnt dwarfed.

There are a lot of quality actors out there guys that can do the role of Bruce/Batman justice in a JL film and or reboot franchise, and are shorter or equal height to Cavill. I'm not worried at all. I liked Bale, but his Batman wasn't the definitive Batman for me. Plus I would like to see someone that can get the voice down this go around lol.

Anywho, on to the subject of Brolin, I think he would make a great Batman if they went seasoned and older...Brolin does not look his age at all and could past for someone in their mid to late 30s IMO before 50s. Heck when I was watching MIB III and that car scene where he says his age is 29 or 30 to Will Smith's character 'J' I laughed because I am 29 have friends that look older and can past for 30 something even 40 and also have friends that can past for early 20s and are my age lol.

Plus you have to think that Batman is obviously going to have a stunt double so it wouldn't really matter the actual age of the actor as long as he can look the part and act like Batman. The stunt double will take care of all the demanding physical stuff anyway. Not saying I want Brolin, but dude sure does have a good Batman/Bruce look. Something about when he stares people down reminds me of the stare Schwarzenegger does when the zoom in to his eyes lol.....very menacing.

Lastly, I have always had a problem with Miller's DKR as far as Batman's age. The way the characters were illustrated just looked older than the ages they were supposed to be IMO. Maybe because it was the 80s and people in their 50s were viewed as "old," senior citizens and less energetic, but I always thought that having Batman in his 60s, Gordon 70s and Alfred 80s/90s would make the story and feats of Batman all that more amazing. A 50 year old Batman honestly seems pretty young to me, regardless of all the hits, bumps and bruises he has had over the years. The illustrations of Bruce and Oliver IMO looked more like 60 or 70 year olds than 50s. That's one of a few things I didn't like about the novel...Batman's aged seemed incorrect.

So are we considering Brolin for a JL movie tieing into Snyder's MOS, that has no bearing to the Batman reboot?

I want a friggen Ninja Batman, the guy who does jumps, and insane martial arts, not a guy who holds his arms up and some weird twists movements and for some reason never turns his head..........even after getting a new mask that allows him to do so :funny:

......lets get Ray Park to stunt double as Batman in the next movie :funny:

May as well get a martial artist or someone that is willing to commit and learn how to do that stuff....like Keanu did with the matrix.

I agree I do want a ninja batman to that is also a master of deception and theatricality, an escape artist, master detective, etc.

Seeing an aged Brolin play an aged Batman doing matrix **** would make my millennium :funny:

I'd like that too, but who? Thats the question.

@Rodringo: Kung Fu Brolin :woot::woot:

Brolin: I know jiujitsu
Keanu (dressed as Alfred...for some reason):.....wow....

:funny:

That's why they should get an actor in his 20s/30s that has done action roles or can pull off action convincingly. Although Bale was a decent/good Batman the fighting was meh very very meh. Yeah his Batman used counters, but his style was not impressive...more along the lines of brawling IMO. Plus, I hated how they shot fight scenes in those films, too close, too dark and too many cuts.

Just get Scott Adkins for Batman.

I'm only half joking.

LOLOLOLOL... Seagal would be Superman (he looks like an Alex Ross drawing come to life!). Stallone is Batman.

As Billy Murray said

Nobody wants to see fat old men running round :o

Jon Hamm is so perfect Batman. Mad Men is one of my favorite shows and certain aspects of Don Draper just scream Bruce Wayne. At the same time I could see him as an older Superman. I really want to see him ad Batman though...

Yeah I did not like Bale's fighting at all. So sluggish and too much brawling.

I want Batman to be fast, but also with strong, hard punches.

Scott Adkins would be a good Batman. Maybe practicing on his acting a little, but he'd be perfect.

You can't focus on people who do martial arts before acting....

Hey, I don't expect the reboot to have better actors or more deep characterization than Nolans movies..i expect it to be more fun and visual. But this is the kind of thing im afraid of. Casting Batman because he can fight, looking at the acting as a secondary thing.

The next Batman NEEDS to have different fight scenes. But "Scott Adkins would be a good Batman"??..."He'd be perfect"??

Another fear of mine is the reboot will be all style and no substance. Maybe it's time for that after TDKT, but it's not going to win over the general audience. Only comic book fans. A wooden Bruce Wayne/Batman who can kick ass might work in an Arkham Asylum movie. But after Bale, the actor is going to stick out like a sore thumb if he's wooden with limited Bruce Wayne scenes.
