Snyder's "fans" already telling Umberto and others to do you know what to themselves and lashing out, yep. Nice WSJ way to add oil to crazy fire right before Con.

And how much exactly would it cost? Are you guys aware he stepped down in May? So Whedon can make the VFX + score + script rewrite for his reshot version in 4 months, but Snyder in 8 months of post left all unfinished. Yeah, right...

It’s already been said there are entire FX sequences still to be done including the Darkseid scene that hasn’t been done at all. It’s not going to be cheap. Superman II was not in that same boat as many of the Donner scenes had been edited for the TV version and unlike what people are asking for in this film that film had to use a lot of Lester footage to fill the film out.

It's been said on a cut that was shown to execs in February and he got to work on for 3 more months. Nobody knows the state of the film in May, when Whedon takes over.

I think it might finally be time for Zack himself to come out and tell people that the game's over. Thats the only way the madness will end.

Considering how he keeps adding fuel to the fire with all that BTS stuff he posts, maybe he doesn't want the focus on it to end.

I'm waiting for Jay Oliva's response to this. It's going to get ugly.

Not as a whole we do know about certain scenes. Those scenes had unfinished FX work.

See and this is the worst thing for me. Snyder doesn’t say anything, just posts images. He needs to put the record straight if you ask me.

It's already ugly, but the universal consensus seems to be that this is some bad writing from that dude:funny:

In retrospect it seemed kind of cruel of him to have been teasing it for months on end the way he did. I mean, I totally get it, he's probably bitter af too about how his movie got taken away from him but giving fans false hope for another cut thats never going to come was not the way to go about it.

I feel really disappointed but also relieved that we have some conlcusiveness finally.

These people are turning psychotic. Lashing out at strangers on social media, organizing protests, who knows what they will do on Con.

And I associate Snyder with those fans of his now. And I'm sure I am not the only one. This is harming his career not the other way around.

He's almost always had director's cuts of his movies released. It's obvious he wants his cut of JL released, and he's doing what actually works to get to that situation: leverage with the studio, showing them that his films have a fan base. There's nothing about giving hope or false hopes there IMO. He's doing what any negotiator does in business. His BTS showing of JL isn't that different of Cavill waiting for MI6 to release to go back into a negotiation talk. It's pure and simple leverage.

I agree. Its time to let it go finally. Zack really needs to say something and shut this down once and for all. The last thing we need happening is peoe starting stuff at comic con this weekend.

Honestly I knew that this will be clickbait. But I didn't know that these 'fans' will get worse. Now they are 1. angry that it says there won't be a cut 2. angry that they were 'lied to' 3. angry that this dude didn't praise Snyder to high heavens

Cringe city.

This is what I mean about them taking it too far. We may all be passionate about these characters but at the end of the day they’re just movies. People getting death threats, told that they’re wrong for having a certain opinion on a movie, all the bashing other things etc. It’s just pathetic really.

So someone from WB ACTUALLY commented on it?
After all this time?

I think that was a HUGE mistake on their part. They either should have stayed the course of not even acknowledging it, or they should have responded with something of ACTUAL substance.

They gave it the TINIEST bit of attention by acknowledging it, hopeing it would go away, and now stuck with this cat, lol. It will keep coming back now, and forever.
They can't go back to ignoring it, pretending it doesn't exist, and hope it goes away now, lol.

Honestly, with today's technology and data access, I'm surprised there hasn't been a leak of the full rough cut. Certainly seems inevitable now.

^This. I don't know if that cut is getting leaked, but the script I'm 100% sure will be.

Also this is co-ordinated effort. This piece is here along with Cavill literally saying that Snyder's Cut won't make a difference. Even if it did exist, WB is putting an effort to put people off the idea this may be released. So how can anyone think they would give money to finish it or distribute it?

Snyder is still a producer for a lot of films there. It's shocking to me they didn't press him to say it's not coming even under "if you don't say it, we are not working with you again' ultimatum. Though that 'movement' is so far gone even if he says it, they probably won't stop.

oh there are already people saying it's a lie and propaganda! :funny:

Well, I wish people wouldn't do that. I would have liked to have seen the Snydercut, but I was at peace with it taking awhile or not happening, because I didn't think it was ever reasonable to assume the studio would be eager to do something so soon; they'd at least want to put some space between the debacle and the new movies. In general, I wish all sides would have taken a more measured approach to this.

I think the Snyder Cut stuffs gotten a little out of hand. I am fine with the movement and support of it but these people need to stop hijacking the posts about the new DC Films with the Snyder movement stuff.

I agree that it's best to keep the two things separate.

I really wish journalists and bloggers would be less involved with fan culture in general. As for fans, I hope their anger is mostly directed at those who are responsible, which is WB for (a) not saving us all a headache by not making JL when and how they did with Snyder from the start if they weren't supportive, and (b) for mismanaging the Whedon cut so badly.

I don't think anything extra needs to be done. I'm pretty sure an acceptable olive branch would be to either put out an unfinished film or even just make a website where storyboards, screenshots, stills, and script pages can be used to give fans something at some point. I can understand not wanting to do it now when they're trying to regain some stability and enthusiasm, but I think there's a way to be diplomatic in the meantime and consider compromise in the future as a way of showing gratitude for their earlier supporters and existing fanbase and remorse for some of their own mistakes.

Maybe. I think part of him just wants to be nice to those who were nice to him and share with them things that satisfy their curiosity or make them feel like he's okay and thinking of them.

He's been there longer than the current execs, since the Alan Horn-Robinov days. What I mean by that is that it's possible the execs are just honoring past agreements because firing him completely would be very expensive. So expensive it's possible he'll survive the current execs as well.

If you do something that makes the place you work for look bad, you can get fired. It can be argued that Snyder posting that stuff on Vero is just that considering that this movement is just throwing salt on the wound WB is trying to heal with silence.

Silence? They just talked about it on the WSJ themselves.

Snyder is exec producing WW and Aquaman at the very least, possibly also Flash since that version was introduced in his films. You know what exec producing entails? A cut of the box office and home release money. That exec producing deal is probably worth more than his salary as director of MoS, BvS and JL.

I've seen better things written in a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios than what that guy just put out. Totally unreadable and makes Snyder fans look like the chick from 'Misery'. For real, I award Ben Fritz zero points...

..and God have mercy on his soul.

One comment after 9 months.

On the other hand the entire franchise being steered away in opposite direction.

Which means more?

You’re asking a movie studio to released an unfinished film. Has this ever happened before?

I personally think that’s a bad alternative. As I said I’d much rather they just did what they did with Donners Superman II and try to merge the two films together to make a complete film best they can. Well if it narratively masses sense.

I think a big thing though too is JL was a flop. Why would they want to spend any time let alone money on that? I don’t think people think of the business side of things when considering the Snyder cut.
