The "Keep Hope Alive" (that the rights can revert back to Marvel) thread

The X-Men would want to fight Galactus as:
No.1 It could end the world
No.2 defeating him could improve the way society looks at mutants

Lol those are incredibly weak motivations imo. And incredibly boring for a story. The fantastic 4 are all about the cosmic. The Xmen movie universe is completely not. Not only that, but the whole "lets take on a cosmic being because we wanna prove ourselves to the people who hate us..... Makes them seem like oppurtunists.

Plus..... If they're about to potentially take on apocalypse in a future xfilm they're battling their own "destroyer of worlds"

From Captain America onwards the MCU films feel more family friendly.

Disney had very little to do with cap. Paramount was still part of production then....

Also keep in mind Disney as a company, has done plenty if non "family friendly" films. That notion is incredibly ignorant and subjective

^ indeed. Much more comedy too. Luckily comedy fits right in with GOTG

GOTG is made by Marvel which is owned and controlled by Disney.

Disney also owns touchstone pictures and ABC ... Plenty of non kid friendly films and tv shows there.....

And IM2 was far more family friendly than IM3....

You Guys have no clue what you're talking about and using Disney to justify parts of the films you don't like which is moronic.

What non family friendly films have they done? I'm not so familiar with their first family so perhaps a family friendly vibe might suit them?

it doesn't seem like you're very familiar with much in general...

Touchstone Pictures - Down and Out in Beverly Hills, Beaches, Ruthless PEople, Con Air, Armageddon, Enemy of the State, Gone in 60 Seconds, Coyote Ugly, Pearl Harbor, Bad Company, Deja Vu, Lincoln, War Horse, The Help, Good Morning Vietnam, Rushbore (these arn't "family" movies)

by the way... The Walt Disney Company also apparently had something to do with Dogma (very very non-family friendly film) it was probably when they owned Miramax?

as for the ABC television network...

Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, Lost, Revenge, Scandal, Nashville, Motive, Mistresses....

not exactly family friendly.

Disney will be treating Marvel Studios and Lucas Film the same way they handle Touchstone pictures... I really doubt aside from Big Hero 6 (for obvious reason's as it's being created by Disney Animation Studios) we will ever even see the Cinderella Castle Disney logo in the opening of any of these films. Because DISNEY FINANCES THEM, they do not CONTROL these studios.

Fair enough. All I'm saying is that I am 75% sure the film will be made and I'm keeping an open mind about it.

it's fine to be optimistic (though im not entirely sure why anyone would want to be) but alot of us are seasoned vets on the hype, and have been around since the beginning of all these CBM films getting made... and we know a pattern when we see them. It's worth listening to us. Knowledge is experience. If we're doubtful... it's for very good reason.

I expect the film to be ok but I might be surprised. I would rather like Marvel to get the rights back though.

If you look closely at your copy of many Kevin Smith films, they'll say they were released by Buena Vista aka Disney since they owned Miramax.

So yes, the complaints that Disney is too childish...especially when you consider how adult some of the attractions really are...the complaints get tiring.

I really wish the rights would revert back.

Tears over what? Not only does Millar not tell us anything we already didn't know, he doesn't really even confirm anything. If I didn't have a general lack of faith in Millar's consultant gig to begin with, I'd say this further reinforces the notion that nothing is happening regarding F4.

^^^ lol this

seriously RBW??? are you going to be this naive that just because there's a news article or snipet of Millar or Fox mentioning the film that it's happening?

Were you not here during last year's Daredevil debacle when this is just simply repeating the same story.

This is even worse because i can't even recall the last time (or if at all) Josh Trank has even mentioned this film

the DD director at least tweeted about it

All I'm doing is updating any information that comes lol.

+1000.

I am in complete support of the rights to FF reverting back to Marvel. They belong in the MCU and would have far more potential there. X-men can stay with Fox. They are basically a universe all to themselves and Marvel Studios doesn't need the added responsibility of dealing with X-men.

I hope Fox keeps this film in limbo. And we DO NOT need FF/X-men crossovers. Let FF go home where they belong.

It's supposed to "shoot" in two-three weeks and still not casting whatsoever. Or any news besides production locations changing. >.>

Mark Miller  for some reason I get this Avi Arad vibe from him nowadays. Throw him in with El freaking scooping Mayibe in the "I don't care what you say" bucket.

Millar - call him Maybe.

So if the rights go back will Marvel use the characters for Phase 3?

sooner the better to establish the F4 i say... but assuming the way it all pans out.. it might not be until Phase 4. because they also need time, and are currently already plotting out phase 3
