I don't know I think it would be kinda hard.

I mean sure if they kept Chris out of the picture and he had no scene's with his dad in the movie until he shown up as the Red Mist I think then maybe it could work. I remember reading the comic and it surprised the hell out of me when the Red Mist turned on Kick Ass.

yea that surprised me too.

i was missing the big reveal from the movie. they really just threw that out the window. you see him and his father in the first ten minutes of the movie. seems like they just wrote the part for mintz instead of leaving it how it was written. i mean the creator was on the project so i wonder if he was seduced my the glammer of making a movie out of his unfinished comic book

how do you know what he would do given the opportunity and it could have been a simple meeting which convinced him. not anything malicious maybe he felt it needed to be changed for film. im just saying it wasnt a small thing to change it really changes the dynamic of the character.
went from a mysterious character to a spoiled kid wanting dad's affection.

Because anyone familiar with Millar knows he doesn't give two craps.

Eh I love the movie no matter what.

When Hit Girl comes to rescue Kick Ass and try to Rescue her dad that whole scene when the lights go out just gives me chills everytime I watch it.

Fine time for me to be broke, otherwise I would have had this movie right now.

Its super indepth. Like, everything from the first conception, to audio mixing, color correcting, to the London premiere. The whole 9.

While watching the DVD, I caught something that I didn't notice before:

When Frank and Chris D'Amico get into the movie theater, there's a sign above the entrance that says "Now playing ... THE SPIRIT 3" :funny:

I can't believe I didn't catch that before!

please that's such a generalization, based on an outsider's opinion. no one can know what someone else will do.

No. This is based on countless interviews with Millar himself. He's not the kind of guy to care. He never wants his comics to be exact interpretations. I mean, look at Wanted. Its so far from the comic its hard to even call them the same thing. Yet, he LOVES Wanted. The same way he LOVES Kick-Ass. It's his favorite movie of the year.

"A lot of people ask me 'What if they ruin the movie?". I say the comic is still there--that hasn't changed. And if they make a good movie, even better. It's free money."
-Mark Millar

So he just takes the money and doesn't worry about it.

Just finished it was still good movie. The extras were great. I liked seeing the artist inker and colorist doing their things.

He does care alittle bit. He told on his forum that he sold the Nemesis rights to a studio that was paying *alittle* less, but quarenteed that the superhero costume would be used. Since Nemesis is a super villain wearing a pure white superhero-styled costume.

Just watched it again. I haven't seen Inception or Toy Story 3 yet, but I know this will be my favorite of 2010. Saving the extra's for tomorrow night.

How can you say that without seeing the other two? LOL

This is my 2nd favorite. Toy Story is number 1 and Inception, 3.

The behind-the-scenes docs on the Blu-Ray are the first I've watched in a while that haven't bored me to tears.

Loved watching this movie last night but I wish the picture quality on the blu-ray was actually good, it's pretty bad compared to most blu-rays.

Hm, mine is pretty fantastic. Is your player up to date?

The Blu-Ray image is really bright with saturated colors. It represents the intended look of the film perfectly, imo.

My Blu ray is picking it up very crisp and perfect colors unlike both times i saw it in crappy theaters...so no complaints bout the look here

and this is definitely one of my favorites of the year
1. Inception
2. Kick-Ass
3. Toy Story
4. Shutter Island
