This thread is absolutely right, good sir.

And, plus, you got your The Graduate bashing thread. Let me have my fun.

Oh, I'm not gonna close you down. You're entitled to bash King of the Hill. I just like it is all. I mean, its not Simpsons-in-its-prime, but its entertaining enough to watch in the middle of the day on FX when nothing else is on.

I suspect this really is, as much as I hate to say it, a case of people not really getting the entire joke of the King of the Hill phenom.
It's almost a joke from writers to writers. It's SOOOO dry, SOOOOO over the top full of Texan stereotypes, SOOOOOO quietly monotonous, that I laugh just at the thought.

I'm not voting for McCain, I'm just not voting for Obama. I am voting third party for president and Biden for vice-president.

This show along with The Simpsons and South park needs to stop. i dont get the appeal of them. Wuth the acception of the simpsons which i did like at one point and time. Alot of people say Family Guy is bad but i think the random flashbacks make it a better show albeit hit and miss at times.

Aww...you're just mad because they raped Dr. Jones last night.

Admit it. :oldrazz:

Haters. The first few seasons were crap, but the show got better. I like it for it's simplicity, and Peggy is one of the funnier animated tv moms.

Couldn't stand it. Ever. I think I've made it through a full episode once, something about some actors and stuff. I just couldn't take it. Ugh.

KOTH isn't a simpsons type humor with out threre, in-your face gags. It's more a satire/socoal commentary on Not Just Texans But America and American culture. The humor is more sly and clever, making fun of things we aren't rerally loooking at. A lot of people just don't get this show. Hank is the "King" of the Hill because he's smarter than all his neighbors. He sees through the gimmicks, trends and fads the supporting characters get involved in and boils them down to their nonsensical roots. It's comedy that'll go over your head if you don't understand the show.

Last season was one of the best I've seen in years. they made fun of neighborhood, gentrificatioin, Trans Fat bans and protesting and it was some of the funniest stuff I've seen in years I. I can't hate this show. It's gotten better with age. I love how the characters have grown and changed and become more interesting.

Last funny episode was Texas/Nebraska episode. Since then it's been pretty meh. :csad:

Not only that but the characters are so ****ing awesome. I mean the way they all play off each other and have there own idiosyncriacies, I love watching it.

I like King of the Hill so nanny nanny boo boo!

King of the Hill is awesome. One of the few good shows still on tv. Im sure a lot of you just don't get it, there is a lot of subtly to the humour and it might take a bit of time to understand the characters but its worth it. Amazing show and still look forward to it every week.

I haven't watched KOTH for years but from what I remember, you are right. I pre-judged the show, thinking it was going to be mainly hillbilly humor. That didn't appeal to me at all. However, I caught a couple of episodes and saw that it was the opposite of what I imagined. It was much smarter than expected, at least in the years I watched it.

my main beef is the show would be more interesting to have the people AGE on the show. Bobby has been 13 for like 10 years now, and I hate his voice. They should let the kid hit puberty, that would lead to alot more interesting plots instead of the stupid wholesome Texan crap thats been on for forever.

I liked King of the Hill, but I stopped watching it years ago. The last episode I saw was when they all went to Japan and found Cotton's illegitimate son. That was years ago, though. I didn't realize this show was still on.

Fox Not Renewing King of the Hill
Source: The Hollywood Reporter October 31, 2008

After several previous brushes with cancellation, Fox has opted not to renew veteran animated comedy "King of the Hill" beyond its current 13th season.

In April, Fox picked up 13 more episodes from the 20th Century Fox TV-produced show, which are wrapping production.

A lot has changed since "King of the Hill" premiered in 1997. Its creators Greg Daniels and Mike Judge have moved on to other projects -- Daniels developed and is running NBC's "The Office," and Judge has a new animated series, "The Goode Family," launching on ABC in midseason.

Judge had continued to voice the central character on the series, alongside voiceover cast members Kathy Najimy, Pamela Adlon, Brittany Murphy, Tom Petty, Johnny Hardwick and Stephen Root.

"Hill" has been executive produced by Judge, Daniels, John Altschuler, Dave Krinsky, Michael Rotenberg, Howard Klein, Jim Dauterive and Garland Testa.
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!
It lasted about twelve and a half seasons too long.

Just think... If Futurama had been the one to air at 7:30 instead of 7, it'd still be on the air instead of releasing DVD movies.

R.I.P. King of the Hill...the greatest show ever in the history of television.
