The Last Crusade of Relationships

She still lives under his roof, she (and by extension, you) should be respecting his rules.

Alrighty then. Fair enough.

Well, I’m in the middle of having sex with a girl, NSA type with a girl not looking for any relationship, and I get a knock at my door. It does not stop and turns into loud pounding. This was ruining it for me, and so we stopped, and I put on my jeans and answered the door.

Outside is a portly looking fellow, middle aged, and I never saw him before. He has his fists clenched and that I want to hit you look on his face.
He asks me "what are you doing with my daughter?!"

Now at this point I’m terrified. Being a sex offender in my state means knocking on neighbors doors, and telling them such, and not being able to own a firearm etc… I’m beat red in the face, and all I can think of is calling my dad's attorney. I’m pissed too, because she told me she was 22 years old.

So, I yell for her in the angry man voice, and she comes out of my room with her clothes a mess.

I turn to her and I tell her to get me her ID I want to see how you she is.
Her dad (the angry guy in my doorway) interrupts me with "Don’t bother, she’s 22 years old".

So I’m like "WTF?!?!? Is the matter with you she’s a legal adult, not your property, this is not your business".

I turn to her and as I’m asking her if she needs to leave I feel a horrible pain in my crotch and cannot breath. The old bastard had punched me in the balls.

As I’m doubled over he screams in my ear "**** you, you piece of **** she still lives under my roof".

I might not a heavyweight MMA guy or anything, but I’m still a 240 pound combat veteran, who both used to competitively powerlift and boxed while in the Army. I do make the short list of the kind of guy not to get into a fight with, and he crossed the line in more than one way.

So I tackled him off my deck, and pounded him into hamburger, right in front of his 22 year old daughter and I was already on the phone with my dad’s attorney before the police and ambulance got there. I’m ****ing happy the little turd had to eat with a straw for a long time. Yeah, the only part about that which pisses me off is having to pay a chunk of his medical bills, which given the context was out of line.

While the father deserved a slap for hitting you first, beating the crap out of him and putting him in the hospital was very much above what the situation required. Doing it in front of his daughter makes it all the worse.

The Squirrel said:
Wow, I really hope that is not a true story. Otherwise, you were a terrible person in that situation.

Yeah, although the father wasn't justified in hitting him, I can't imagine how that excessive force (breaking his jaw and 3 of his ribs) can be justified at all. I can completely understand the father's concern for his daughter (even though I don't agree with him striking the first blow).

I think SuperMike335 deserved to be slapped with the medical bill (which I don't think was out of line at all), and he's lucky he got off with just that.

Yeah, I honestly would not be shocked if the daughter immediately sided with him over you after that. Unless the dude is like a complete ******* to her or something, he's always gonna be the first man in her life, so to speak.

I'm more surprised that we don't have a Dunkin' Donuts in LA. :o

In the heat of the moment a lot of things can get out of hand, especially if someone has started on you in your own home.

And at the end of the day, it's his fault for continuing to attack you. If someone is insistant on having a fight, they deserve the full brunt of what you can give back... Within reason. And since he's still alive, and only suffered minor injuries in the scale of things, I'm gonna side with SuperMike on this.

Of course, it might just be the brit in me, or the fact I don't like agressive controlling fathers.

Now, I'm gonna move on too my depressing problem.

So I was a bit of an idiot on valentines and was talking a bit too loudly about my new found feelings for my friend. His best mate over heard me, much to my dismay.

I proper begged him not to say anything, explained I wanted nothing from the situation, new he was off and there was no point in pursuing it.

But the little **** says he can't promise not to tell him.

I haven't seen him since, and I have no clue if he told him.

But I just ran into him in the club (only club in town) and he saw me, looked uncomfortable, walked swiftly away.

We're all in the same friend group, so I come over and greet everyone else where they are sat. He grabs this girl who I've never seen before and starts raunchy dancing with her and laughing...

WTF am I supposed to make of that?

I am assuming his mate told him I'm in desperate stupid love with him (which isn't even remotely true) and now he's trying to make it clear he's a free agent...

I hate men! :(

Kick him in the crotch.

Tell me where his mate lives so I can properly kick his ass. :argh:

:funny:

I love u guys :)

It's okay tho, I found an old mate of mine I haven't seen in years to flirt with, and all of a sudden he was drunkenly trying to drag me on the dance floor... I ignored him.

Becky wins! :p

But now your old mate's drunken feelings are hurt. :(

On my way home now... I have seriously got to stop going out AFTER work, getting to the club at 1 in the morning and attempting to 'catch up' with everyone who is drunk as a skunk!

Thankfully the guy i've been chatting to for the last hour doesn't drink so he's sober... Of course, he was trying to get me to come do speed with him...

I love my country, I love my home town :o

Seriously... I haven't even begun to give you guys an idea of how full of drugs this town is, how full of drug related stupid **** my life has been.

Maybe she has no choice but to respect his rules else be put on the street (though who she has sex with is absolutely none of her father's business at this point, at least if she does it over someone else's house) but Supermike didn't even know him at first, and even then the only reason for him to respect this old man's antiquated values is out of respect for her or whether he believes the old man's values line up with his own.

At 22 years old, she's more than old enough to make her own decisions and have sex with whomever she likes, regardless of her living situation. That being said, if I'm a 240lb man with at least some fight training, I know what I'm capable of doing to an old man and what would be necessary and unnecessary in the situation. He may have deserved to have hands put on him but breaking his jaw and 3 of his ribs is going way too far. Simply grabbing him or giving him one shot to make him aware of the situation and letting him know he is way outmatched would be plenty. Actually beating him up is just being a bully. Also, try to look at it from his point of view; in his mind, he was just looking out for his baby girl. Sure, we may all agree that he didn't need to and she was capable of making her own decisions but he was just trying to be a protective father and got the **** beat out of him for it. I'd say Supermike still comes out as the bad guy in that story.

Also, how did her dad find out where you lived?

My first question too. Maybe the daughter baited him. Given the judgement of two of the people involved in the situation, she might as well join the fray. :oldrazz:

There is something called adrenaline. When that picks up you don’t always have a stop button. That all happened in less than 30 seconds.

How did he know where I lived? She told her sister where she was going to be for safety reasons, in case I turned out to be a psycho killer or something. Lots of girls do this, and I’d recommend it to.

Anyway, She text her sister to tell she that she decided on spending the night.

I had no idea she lived with her parents still. She was a Junior in college I figured she was living in a dorm, or an appt with her sister.

Lets get nothing mixed up here, she was not exactly a virgin, and I was not breaking any laws.

Her dad somehow found out his innocent and pure daughter was out, and he got the address from her sister, who incidentally was 24 years old…and still living at home.

Why thank you for the support. I do think its the brit in you. I got choked out by a Royal Marine once.

Was just some USA troops and the Brits fooling around together in Iraq with some hand to hand training, and he and I got a bit too competitive with all our buds cheering us on.

I thought I had him for a bit, but he was just quicker and meaner than I was. They're tough as hell over there.

This.

If you're still living at home, then you respect the rules of the house. If that's to hard then you need to get your own place.

I agree with Mike under the circumstances that the woman was 22, she's an adult who can make her own decisions, and the action was happening outside of her father's home.

In that regard, I think Mike was justified, especially when the father comes to Mike's house, knocks on his door, and puts hands on Mike first.

Mike isn't living under the father's roof. It's not his place to make sure the daughter obeys whatever rules.

Where Mike was out of line was the severity of the beatdown he apparently laid out on the father. It was excessive, and goes far beyond self defense. And that's where it's not justified.
