McCain Stands Up for Joe
By Matthew Mosk
MIAMI -- Sen. John McCain made Joe the Plumber a household name. Now he wants Joe to know he's got his new friend's back.
Speaking to a boisterous crowd at Florida International University, McCain expressed dismay that the fame he brought on Joe Wurzelbacher has now turned the Ohio man into the focus of endless publicity, not all of it favorable.
For this, McCain blames his opponent, Barack Obama.
"The response from Senator Obama and his campaign yesterday was to attack Joe," McCain said. "People are digging through his personal life and he has TV crews camped out in front of his house. He didn't ask for Senator Obama to come to his house. He wasn't recruited or prompted by our campaign. He just asked a question. And Americans ought to be able to ask Senator Obama tough questions without being smeared and targeted with political attacks."
Press reports focused on Wurzelbacher's story for the past 48 hours have included mention of his lack of a plumbing license, and a tax lien.
The questions coming from the Obama campaign have been more mild. The McCain campaign has pointed to comments by another Joe, Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden. Biden said in an interview, "I don't have any Joe the Plumbers in my neighborhood who make $250,000 a year and are worried," Biden said.
McCain told the crowd in Miami that the question Joe asked about our economy "is important, because Senator Obama's plan would raise taxes on small businesses that employ 16 million Americans. Senator Obama's plan will kill those jobs at just the time when we need to be creating more jobs. My plan will create jobs, and that's what America needs."
McCain also offered some red meat to the Miami crowd, saying, "When I'm president, I won't meet unconditionally with the Castro brothers."
"The day is coming when Cuba will be free," he said, to a roar.

McCain office in Florida has a sign on the wall comparing Obama to Hitler and Stalin, among others.

i wonder if they realize that they're belittling America's youth by comparing them to the youth of Nazi Germany.
I wonder if McCain is "proud" of the moron who put that in the office in the same way that he's "proud" of the racist, xenophobic morons showing up to his rallies.
Isn't it the media, and not Obama's campaign, who was "targeting" Joe, who made himself a target in the first place?

It is literally McCarthyism at its finest. They are playing on the fears of socialism (they are depicting it as an idea system that is different then what we have now, and just painting it up as something bad because it is different) and the ignorant people's fear of change. Some dumbass Congresswoman on Hardball tried to associate "liberal" with "anti-American." Matthews nailed her on it. He said, "You know, ma'am, roughly 35% of the country is liberal. Are you saying they're all anti-American?" He said that the robo-calls by McCain's campaign and the Congresswoman's interchanging of "leftist/liberal" and "anti-American" reminds him of the 1950's when people were going around accusing others of being communists.

REPORT: MCCAIN 'ROBOCALLS' ARE FROM THE SAME COMPANY THAT SMEARED HIM IN 2000

(You all remember John McCain 2000, right? In 2000, he called these calls 'HATE CALLS'. I guess he feels differently not being on the receiving end. Hypocrit.)
Fading I have never really looked at your avvy but is that Gurren Lagen?...
. I watched the Japan subtitled version and loved it heh, that catch phrase was goofy and addictive enough I put it in my sig heh. Haven't felt like changing it in awhile.Well, it backfired at least. As of now her opponent has raised $65,000 in about five hours. One less crazy person in congress now it appears.
