The Most Screwed-Up Movie You've Seen Is...

Most screwed movie I've seen? Probably Hellraiser, I only watched that as a kid. It scared the hell outta me.

Friend of mine bought Ichi the Killer round to watch. Sure, it was gruesome...but it didn't bother me.

Unfortunately had to watch Saw 3 for a different friend's birthday. It was really, really lame. I'm not one for movies that rely on shock factor and gore heavily.

Give me the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, that creeped me out.

Ah-hah! So you're the kind of person who goes to see Saw and Hostel.
Personally, I don't see the fun in torture movies. I do not enjoy the idea of spending my saturday night in the theatre watching someone pull out another man's toenail with a heated pair of pliers. The fun in that is beyond me. Even though I have seen my share of violent (gangster)movies, I do not seek out movies that revolve around physcial pain dreamed up by so called directors(Eli Roth, anyone?) that is a bit too much for me.

I despise Saw with a passion. The first Hostel was okay, never saw the sequel. I just consider Roth a comic director, though. His movies make me laugh, not really cringe or disturb me. Roth's films remind me of early Peter Jackson movies like Bad Taste or Dead Alive. I was talking about more than torture or gore really. The twist to Oldboy at the end is along the lines of what I'm talking about. Shocking scenes in general that may have stuck in your head over the years...

The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a masterpiece. It's right up there with Night of the Living Dead for me. Those remakes piss me off to no end, though.

You mean the classic b&w version? Bought that for 98p in a store.
Far from scary, but great nonetheless.

Oh, okay. Misunderstood you there. Anyway, this was a good chance of putting in my 2 cents about torture movies. :p

The only...ONLY...scene in a film that ever had me squirming in my seat:

^^^Whats that from?

Easily Mulholland Drive....the diner scene

Also the whole character switch thing

I got one. "I Spit on Your Corpse, I Piss on Your Grave" All I have to say is a broom handle and ramming it somewhere into a guy that made me cringe.

i've watched my fair share of horror, scary, and gory movies i've grown used to them. I can watch Exorcist, Saw, and High Tension, and not feel remorse or pity at all. However, there's a thing i cant stand: eye mutilation, just grosses me out. As of now the only movie that makes me cringe is the second remake of the Hills Have Eyes, just too gross (portable restroom, eyes, etc).

Whats that film where at the end everybody starts melting into messed up blobs and have a big blob orgy??

Suspiria. The barbed wire room. Scary because it's completely unexpected and completely nonsensical. There is no way you could predict it.

Is this screwed up in terms of horror, or just screwed up? If its just screwed up, I'd have to say Holy Mountain. Now THAT movie is messed up.

I saw that when I was given a collection of Argento films last Christmas (Opera, Bird with the Crystal Plummage, Deep Red, Suspiria)

I agree with you...that and the seeing eye dog attack.

Cannibal Holocaust. Easily. Only movie I couldn't finish. Tried twice, even drunk. No avail :csad:

Saw was a very good film. Sure the sequels were purely for shock factor, but the script for the original was excellent! Hostel and Hostel II are equally good films (not exactly asrt house, but they if you don't like it, don't see it). I saw the first Hostel with my girlfriend and she nearly screamed when Josh got his ankles cut. After this I decided to wind her up and showed her Sympathy for Mr Vengence, which also has an ankle cutting scene, but much worse.

Hostel was awful. An hour of random porn, and then twenty minutes of gore.

I sat back with a few friends watching this, mentioning it would probably end within a few minutes whilst they were getting tortured. I was right.
