I expected it tbh. Deadpool 1 teased Cable and with it's success Deadpool and X-Force became a high priority for the studio and potential money.

That doesn't mean you release them a year apart though as i don't see the advantage in that since i'd imagine it wouldn't make any difference if they released it in just a year or released it in 2 years, infact wouldn't be have more of an advantage in spreading them out abit?

There must be a purpose behind it, i doubt its just fox wants to squeeze the money out within a 2 year period.

Doesn't mean you can't either. The purpose is to keep franchises flowing and audiences to show up invested. Pretty much every studio is doing this now for serial material, so I don't see why Fox would be an exception.

Not sure what answer you are looking for. Ultimately this is all business, Fox wants multiple IP's making money every year. Just like Marvel, DC and even Tranformers now. X-Force and Deadpool give them that. Much like say Iron Man and a Avengers film. Or Justice League and Wonder Woman.

Civil war and infinity war isn't being done that way? if marvel were greedy i am sure they could.

Bvs(2016) Justice League (2017), Wonder Woman (2017), . Tranformers 5 (2017), Bumblebeee (2018), Tranformers 6 (2019).

Pretty much all Marvel studios.

This is no different then Deadpool and X-Force being released a year from each other.

CW and IW have solo films in between to spread things out and help build things up. Fox has a plan right now and it's called "get to X-Force". I'm sure if Marvel only had Captain America we would get his films more often than not. New Mutants and the flagship X-Men probably don't have anything to do with XF so there's that.

I am inclined to think about how James Gunn said a film should take two years minimum though from a creative standpoint though.

It's not gonna be Deadpool 2 and 3 back to back.

If that's what ends up happening, then yeah that's odd. The current Director of Deadpool 2 was said to be in talks for X-Force, and these trades don't know whats going on in detail so they are calling it Deadpool 3/X-Force. They are clearly trying to get both going and we are years away from both, which shouldn't surprise anyone. Looking at Deadpool as the same property as X-Force would be a huge mistake. Deadpool and X-Force are obviously separate IP's no different then an Iron Man and Avengers film. DP2 will be the one setting up X-Force...not Deadpool 3.

Fox not wanting to wait 5 years to get an X-Force film made isn't a shocker.

It's all speculation at this point, but if FOX corrals a separate X-Force creative team within the next few months they will have two years to meet the FOX/Marvel release date in February 2019.

With Wolvie retired it makes sense for FOX to ride Mr. Wilson and use him to establish multiple franchises.

Mystique never learned of Stryker's name and Trask Industries was shut down.

Yes she did. Rewatch the Vietnam " the question is, who are you?" scene. She grabs his dog tags and reads his name. Trask Industries was obviously involved with the government. Mystique knew those mutants in Vietnam were in danger. She butt heads with Stryker several times in the film. She knew enough to lead Logan away from danger.

Xavier knows that Logan is not interested in joining them yet. Remember First Class? I doubt they would be watching him 24/7.

He didn't need to be interested in joining them and didn't need to be watched 24/7. He just needed to be warned of the dangers that faced him. Logan TOLD Xavier in DoFP that he just met someone that was going to cause him a lot of pain. Xavier saw into his mind all the pain that he suffered in his life. We are led to believe this scene is what will enable Xavier to save Jean in the new timeline. Xavier also should have been able to save Logan. Especially since he would have known the exact cause of this pain and how much it hurt him! Much easier and more attainable goal if you ask me than trying to fix the Dark Phoenix.

Xavier is a telepath for crying out loud. He could have just shared these memories with the current Logan if he was still stubborn.

The movie took place in 1973, two years before the war ended.

The movie features the Paris Peace accords and beat us over the head with the fact that the US lost the war in Vietnam. There's no way that I could see that this Logan would go from doing jobs for mobsters to enlisting in a war that was ending.

Stryker's hatred came from his son killing his wife.

Yes, according to Stryker, that happened after Xavier failed to help him. Stryker didn't seem to have any issues with his son in DoFP and that seems like a pretty crucial moment to have happen off screen. He seemed to hate mutants just fine in DoFP and doesn't seem any different in Apocalypse.

That is a point, stryker does mention his son in DOFP and doesn't seem to have the same issue with mutants as trask does in that movie, its not untill what happens to his wife that turns him against mutants and we can assume that happened in the gap between DOFP to apocalypse

Talking the director for a second, has anyone here actually seen The Fault in Our Stars? I personally haven't, though it was playing at a local theater in the city that plays mostly indie films. So not sure of his prowess as a director, even if I'm all for Fox picking him for this property. If only because, like Vaughn did with First Class, I think he could be a breath of fresh air for the X-Men films.

X-Force is part of the X-Men franchise dude. It's not the Deadpool only show.

Do you mean if Deadpool isn't in X-Force or if Cable would be lead?

Nate, Neena and Wade are pretty much guaranteed to be leads one way or the other, and we know Reynolds has control over their casting because of the conflicts with Miller now. Word was that him and the studio wanted a bigger star as Cable then Tim Miller wanted. They want both to sell big.

sounded like Deadpool III is now the X-force film.Similar to how elements of origins:Magneto was merged with first Class.

Deadpool II is the iron man 2 or BVS if you will with cable and domino and Deadpool III is now the avengers or justice league.

There was never anything said about the film that said that DP2 and XF are being combined. They've mentioned IM-IM2-Avengers as something that could be followed in the past, so I'm pretty sure they'll do something similar to that.

Also why does it matter when XF will take place? It's still part of this franchise.

it certinly sounded like in the trade that deadpool III was now merged with X-force.
