To be fair did we know X23 was gonna be in logan before they started filming? i think we found out a long time later so this whole secrecy is very much a fox thing.

No. We didn't even know the actress until the trailer. Actually, we didn't know the title until a day before the trailer!

I do suspect it might be because they pretty much let folks know everything about X-Men: Apocalypse upfront, and then that movie disappointed both critically and commercially. They appear to be taking a different tact this time. Hopefully, this will also include making a better pair of movies too.

Yes, Logan also had major doubters calling it a "Jackman vanity project" and "all the other Wolverine movies suck." (Fanboys don't deal in details, such as thinking The Wolverine is horrible when it's certainly on par with plenty of MCU movies they'll adore).

Then a kickass trailer was pretty much everyone's first introduction to what "Logan" was and it built sudden hype. Of course the trailer was great because the movie was also great. There are no guarantees that NM or especially DP will be great. But it goes to show, if you control how fans experience a movie for the first time (the antithesis of the Apocalypse rollout with the "Ivan Ooze" debacle in EW), you can be rewarded with instant buzz.

I bet they'll let Reynolds hog the typical modern blockbuster marketing with Deadpool 2 and take that Logan route for the other two. And if the trailers are good, people will be intrigued. Of course, that means the movies also have to be good. So um... fingers crossed?

TW is a good film imo. I know that some people don't like the climax, and I can see why. I don't think that it's outright BAD, and it is foreshadowed A LOT throughout the rest of the film. But it does feel, out of place, when compared to the first 2/3.

it still amazes me with those who moan about apocalypse that they didn't pay attention to what singer and others were saying.they were very upfront about film they were making and who was getting the focus.

fox is obviously taking page from logan.if patrick stewart didn't spill he was in film we would never have known he was in logan prior to set pics being snapped.they keep title and who was playing x-23 under wraps for so long.

Which came out in December after filming was done. We didn't know anything about the suits for a long time until Endozn3(sp?) warned us after he saw behind the scenes footage

There was nothing worth hiding about the flight suits.

Reason why we didn't see the flight suits is the same reason we didn't see other things while they were filming.

This movie won't care about the casting in DOFP. This is the X-franchise after all. We better get an entirely different power signature too.

Yeah, he looks better than the last name that popped up because he at least looks like a version of Sunspot, but I think they can do better.

Though I am not interested to seeing the younger version of Xavier and Ororo again.
