The New New Avengers

Art is great. It looks Bendis is going back to the Strange/Voodoo/SoS story, I'm not really into that stuff.

Other than the placement of Wolverine's claws, that is a good cover.

And I like the fact Dr. Strange is a part of this team.

I had the exact opposite reaction. Knowing the first arc is so magic-heavy (and folds in Iron Fist, whose magical nature is usually not considered all that similar to Strange's for some reason) actually got me a bit interested in New Avengers. But I have not traditionally enjoyed how Bendis himself writes magic stuff (casually retconning away chaos magic, Strange's utterly pathetic display the last time he was a New Avenger, the funky weirdness of the previous Strange/Voodoo/new Sorcerer Supreme stuff, etc.), so I still doubt I'll pick it up.

Saw the Son of Satan in all that too. Always good to have him around. I guess Bendis will write him super pissed off all the time.

:doom: :doom: :doom:

He wasn't written any better in the recent Ghost Riders: Heaven's On Fire, so I doubt Bendis could make him much worse.

He'll find a way. Oh yes....he will find.....a way.

Well stop being right.

Any reason they had to re-start this series, besides trying to boost sales by having a #1.

They couldn't go back to the original numbering:

1) because Bendis already did that trick & ended the original series... badly;

2) because who the heck knows wtf issue # they would be on today anyways considering New and Mighty and Dark and Young;

3) because starting over at #1 justifies raising the price by another dollar per issue;

4) because Quesada can't count that high and has to keep starting over at #1 every time he loses his place

5) because there is no such thing as comic book continuity anymore.

Oh and because it's me and I have to say it...

The Hawkeye/Spider-Man banter in #1 was lame. All that build up with Clint wanting to kill Norman. The whole Bullseye in Clint's costume thing. Even the whole recent Kate from Young Avengers stuff. And all that Bendis can muster is (paraphrasing) "Yup, I'm Hawkeye now!' That was LAME and WEAK and PATHETIC. He still doesn't friggin get it.

yeah...he could at least of said something along the lines of "there only ever was one hawkeye..an' you're lookin' at him!"

it was a bit slow wasnt it.

Out of all the avnger teams the two heroes on two teams i'm looking forward to most is moon knight in secret and thing in new..

Ugh, I can't believe the stupid New Avengers get the mansion. Should've put the proper Avengers in there and left the New team with the tower. Or hell, even put the Young Avengers in the mansion. They still thought it was good enough to use as a base when it was in ruins.

Am I the only person here who could be totally happy never seeing Luke Cage in a comic book again?

Technically, you can't just give away property or a car of a certain value in the U.S. It had to be a minimum transaction of $1.

Great preview. Strange vs Hellstrom, Immonen drawing Iron Fist, can't wait! Tony selling the Avengers Mansion for 1 dollar...wow. :hehe:

That was kinda stupid. He's broke you know. He probably coulda sold it to Rand for a couple of million. He's got deep pockets.
