The New New Avengers

I'd rather have Hawkeye on SA and Moon Knight on NNA. But Moon Knight's okay on SA for now.

I'm liking Moon Knight on SA a lot actually. So far, out of all these new Avenger titles, SA is the only book worth getting. IMO.

Why don't they just re-title New Avengers as "Amazing Fantasy" instead? They've had to many supernatural opponents. They should do the same with their Ultimates and Ultimate Avengers now. "Ultimate Fantasy" would be appropriate.

Not at all like the old Avengers, who squared off against a trickster god, the king of Atlantis, lava men, a witch from King Arthur's time, a god of war, all kinds of extra-dimensional monsters...

Im sick of the magic stories myself. I dont care for Dr. Strange and his stuff here

Brother Voodoo is the Sorcerer Supreme these days anyway ain't he?
Is or was bc according to the first issue
he's dead
. Im not so sure thats true though and Im sure the story will provide further details as the story progresses

Co-sign.

He's the perfect fit for that team. Especially given his past. Originally, he wasn't going to be apart of SA according to Bru in an interview he gave a few weeks ago. It was actually Brevoort who told him to put MK by saying "Use Moon Knight, use Moon Knight." :hehe:

I wouldn't rule out the possibility of MK in NNA, but like he told Steve in SA #1 - "too many voices". That, and it also depends what happens to Jake after his Shadowland mini - meaning if he snaps or not.

Perhaps because everyone does not share your opinion.

Well obviously:o.

But seriously, I thought that out of all of the relaunches, NNA's writing was the worst. Avengers #1 was pretty good and I thought SIEGE was great. Bottom line is Bendis didn't give me a good reason in the first ish for this book to even exist.

I'm giving it a chance, just to see where it goes in terms of the team's direction. If it devolves too much into Bendis's typical nonsense too quickly, I'll drop it without a second thought (please, no jokes about how it already has).

But seriously, I though that out of all of the relaunches Secret Avengers written by Brubaker was the best with the New Avengers second and Avengers #1 a distant third. It is apparent to me and many other readers that the New Avengers exist because they are a non-government sponsored team hopefully not subject to political manipulation. If you don't trust big brother then Bendis has given you a very good reason for why the New Avengers and this book exists. If you do, then perhaps not.

This book actually looks pretty good. That Thing scene was pretty funny & I like funny comics.

I'd keep Spidey & Wolvie or Hawkeye & Mockingbird on this team, who ever leaves NNA goes to Avengers.

I think that Spider-Man and Hawkeye work pulling double duty for New and regular Avengers. After all, the point of the regular Avengers is so they would be the face of Steve's new era.

I would take Wolverine off the Avengers for several reasons beyond just being a murderer. Most people think that Daken and Logan are the same person and once X-Force is revealed, you're going to want to completely distance yourself from Wolverine in general.

And I would switch Ms. Marvel for Spider-Woman.

I guess they it makes sense for Spidey & Hawkeye. But it's still confusing. I'd be fine with Wolvie on Avengers, if they hadn't gone back to him being a killer. If he used his claws to injure people, that'd be fine. I'm 99% sure he's done that for a time in the comics.

I agree with you. Secret Avengers was the best, New Avengers was second, and Avengers was a third. It's a shame too, because Avengers has a better team but New Avengers kills it in the art department. Still, none of the titles were horrible, just mediocre at worst. Except for Secret Avengers. I loved me some Secret Avengers.

And it's evident that New Avengers ONLY exists because Marvel is a money-****e. :o

I agree with trading Ms. Marvel for Spider-Woman. It just makes sense. However, Spidey and Wolverine can go to New Avengers permanently. Hawkeye can stay with the Avengers as pulling double duty doesn't make much sense.

Oh and while I'm putting together a wish-list, can we please get Songbird on an Avengers team?

I agree. Wolverine seems better on NNA or SA if anything. I love Spidey on the varsity Avengers and definitely think MS. Marvel and Spiderwoman should definitely be swapped.

Wolverine shouldn't be on any Avengers team period. It makes no sense for him to be on the New Avengers since he lives in San Fransisco and it makes no sense for him to be on the Avengers because he is not someone who should be the face of Steve's new era for the obvious reasons of people thinking that he and Daken are the same person. He would make sense if he were on the Secret Avengers, but I'm just flat out opposed to a murderer under Steve's banner period.

Also, I think that Dr. Strange should be on the Avengers. Someone like him would be a good face for Steve's new era and he fits the tone of the team. And as for New Avengers, I think Daredevil would be a good fit once Shadowland is over.

None of the Avengers teams are supposed to have political manipulation, when Steve got the "top cop" job, it was gonna be his way or nothing else. NNA has Victoria Hand in place as Steve's liason to the team, and Maria Hill is in charge of her (and prob Sharon Carter in charge of both). So I wouldn't say there's no interference....at least from the US gov't.

And by the reason for NNA to exist is, okay, Steve wants to give someone an Avengers team to operate out of Avengers Mansion doing things their way, right? Why make THAT guy be Luke Cage 5 min after having him start up the Thunderbolts program which uses Raft criminals for a good purpose? Why not someone else with nothing to do? Iron Fist? Anybody not already a dedicated member of one of the teams? Why Spider-Man? Why Wolverine? It makes zero sense for some of the members to be there...

And the opportunity Luke gave to Ben Grimm...."why should I join?" "Why not join?" It's ******ed. Every Avengers team has always had a purpose to exist.....EVERY team put out there no matter how weak the roster was. Whether it's to protect innocents or carry on what the founding members started or let's do it for Cap or IM or Thor, blah blah blah.... I don't get that feel from NNA. But then again it's only been one issue.........

considering X-force hasnt been been made public yet, I dont think it ever will. I dont think that will be much of an issue for preventing him from being or rather continuing with the Avengers. As far as people think he's Daken, if thats a reason to keep him off, then Spiderman and Hawkeye shouldnt be on the teams either. Ms. Marvel too

But people know that it wasn't the real Spider-Man, Hawkeye, or Ms. Marvel. People saw Clint Barton on TV, unmasked saying how psychotic Norman Osborn is. And people saw Spider-Man and Ms. Marvel fight Norman Osborn's forces.

However, because Wolverine was barely with the New Avengers during Dark Reign and when he did fight Osborn, it was either when there were no TV cameras in New Avengers #50 or he was doing X-Force style covert fighting during Utopia and as a result you have people thinking that Daken and Logan are the same.
