I think this might be the last we'll see of the Exiles. You can only launch and cancel a series so many times within 10 years before you just let it die. Well, unless you're She-Hulk, Spider-Girl, or Runaways.

Yeah, I don't expect to see them again for a good, long time. Maybe in another 5 years or so.

Unless Bendis or Millar want to use them.

In his blog, Parker claimed that AGENTS OF ATLAS is safe for now, and the whole "Vs. mini against the X-Men" is basically an editorial stunt to try to drum up sales.

To be honest, Claremont was the one who ran NEW EXILES into the ground for about two years. On his watch the book went from selling about 30k an issue to barely 20k. It was probably too soon for a relaunch. There needed to be more time to build up demand. Look how well THOR has rebounded after taking 4 years to drum up demand.

Claremont's become a "cooler". His BIG HERO 6 mini was one of the lowest selling mainstream Marvel mini's in years; the final issue barely made it into the Top 300. Nearly all of his projects for the last few years at best hover at the bottom of the Top 100. Honestly I think he keeps getting work because Marvel feels they owe him royalties for building the X-Men into what they are now, or were in the 90's peak, but since comics don't usually have such systems, they just toss him random work.

God this sucks. That little group had such potential, especially with Parker at the helm. I hope Parker at least has the chance to do something to bring the mainstays (Blink, Morph, AoA Sabretooth) to the 616 reality which I know alot of people want.

I'd only want to see Mimic and Morph come to the 616 universe. Morph because he's unique, since I think the Changeling was his 616 counterpart and he's been dead for years, and Mimic because he has such awesome powers that are totally wasted on his useless, braindead 616 counterpart.

Sales for EXILES #3 in June were barely over 21,500. That's usually cancellation range. Least according to ICV2.com. Most books that can't sell above 22,000 aren't long for the shelves.

Honestly it was too quick for a relaunch after Claremont bogged down the line. It was on his watch that sales fell well below the 28-34k range they had been for years.

CC is the kiss of death. I had to stop reading this not long after he jumped on during the Exiles original run. He pretty much killed New Excalibur for me too. He's not excatly wowing me with X-Men Forever either. You have to wonder why marvel hasn't retired him.

The current leadership probably grew up on some of his work, so I imagine they have too much respect for him to turn him away. That's the only reason I can think of. I mean, it's certainly not like he's setting the world on fire creatively or financially for Marvel.
