How was that guys? Should I make one of those banner things that Spikex1 has? They look cool.

I can try putting one together for you if you'd like.

Or somebody else can do it. Spike's banners are kinda lame.

I'm confused. There seem to be two batmen in the same universe. Doctor Love and the normal Batman. Help solve the confusion!

I see...so who wants to start making bets as to who this is?

3-1 it's Azrael
5-1 Bizzarro Batman

Any other takers? Who else could it be? Drugged up Alfred? Batmite having a laugh?

Let me just say that it's not Drugged up Alfred.

He'll be Crazy Quilt.

don't ruin the surprise.

Notice he didn't deny bizzarro Batman? come on people place your bets!

How can Bizarro Batman exist in a universe where Bizarro hasn't been introduced yet?

Let me just say that it's not Drugged up Alfred.

He'll be Crazy Quilt.

Drugged-up Alfred is still no match for the might and majesty that is Bizarro Alfred.

But then again, no one is.

Bizarro Alfred is a ninja master/janitor.

.Character you wish to portray: Booster Gold (Michael Jon Carter)

.Hero, villain, or walking the line?: Hero

.Powers and physical attributes: By himself, Booster is just a fairly good runner, but with S.K.E.E.T.S, a time travelling suit from the 23rd Century, Booster has super-strength, can fire energy from his hand, can activate a shield around his body, can fly, and can finally travel in time.

.Origin and backstory (as you see it):
Michael Jon Carter was a star runner for Metropolis University, nicknamed Booster for his speed. He was a hero to the school, winning many races between schools for them, even gaining a gold medal for one effort. However, in a vital race for the school, Carter is disqualified for a false start. He instantly loses all respect from his fellow students for being disqualified and becomes completely unpopular. After that, Carter wore his only gold medal everywhere, to keep a memory of the glory days with him. After the incident, Carter found he only had one friend, Richard Hunter, or Rip as Carter called him.

Rip believes that he's created a suit that is capable of travelling through time, called a Sentient Kinetical Environment Enabler of Time and Space (S.K.E.E.T.S for short). Rip explains to Carter that the suit will be capable of travelling through time when he retrieves one final piece that can only be found in the Metropolis Museum. He gets Carter to help him, saying he can be popular again with the suit. Relunctantly, Carter helped Rip to get the piece, which Rip fitted immediately. The computer in the suit came alive, but soon after security catch up with them and Rip is caught. With just the suit with him, Carter is told by the suit's computer to put on the suit, which activated an emergency protocol, sending Carter hurtling through time.

Booster wakes up in 2009, Metropolis, and finds out in order to return to the 23rd Century, he needs to retrieve a component. The component was only available at LexCorp, and Booster immediately went to retrieve it, but instead got himself into a rather awkward situation with Mr Luthor himself. What happens next, is a mystery, but it's believed that Booster escaped the encounter, and is somewhere in the present with S.K.E.E.T.S.

.The burning question - Why this character?: I setup the character ages ago, and I liked what I was doing with him. Now, I've finally thought of some new ideas for him, and want to give them a shot.

.How will this version of your character differ from others? How will it be Ultimate?: This Booster is lost in time, and has no plans to be a superhero, and would much rather just survive long enough to get back home.

.What do you believe you can bring to the RPG?: An old character with some new ideas and plans.

.Provide a short sample post as your desired character, in three paragraphs or more:

<SIR, DO YOU THINK THIS IS WISE?>

"Shut up, S.K.E.E.T.S, you'll give us away!"
hissed Booster to his talking suit, as he slinked down the aisle of the supermarket, wheeling along his trolley.

<SIR, THE PROBABILITY YOU'LL GET AWAY WITH THIS IS 0.1324%>

"Well, I never was too good at Maths."

An old woman stared at Booster, as she glided past with her trolley, confused as to why he was talking to himself. He flashed her a grin and waves, and carried on, trying to remain subtle. He made sure the old woman was gone, before he grabbed a can of tomato soup from the shelf, and slipped it into the old battered trenchcoat that was covering S.K.E.E.T.S.

"That'll do, let's get out of here."

As he said so, he left his trolley behind in the aisle and half-ran towards the exit of the shop. The alarm rang out as he went through the doors, and he immediately ran as fast as he could, a security guard poking his head out of the doorway.

<SIR, DO YOU REQUIRE MY FLIGHT CAPABILITY?>

"Nah, I need to stretch my legs..."

Approved.

Just make sure you stick with him.

Somehow I get the feeling I'm going to regret this, since I'm already having enough trouble as it is keeping up with my two characters, but the allure of picking up this character was just too good to resist.

THE NEW ULTIMATE DC RPG

Character Application

.Character you wish to portray: Dick Grayson, aka 'Redbird'

.Hero, villain, or walking the line?: Walking the Line (for now)

.Powers and physical attributes: Dick has no supernatural or metahuman powers or abilities. However, he is an extremely athletic young man, a devoted student of jiu jitsu and a few other martial arts, as well as practicing parkour free-running. He has equipped himself with a lightly-armored suit and freefall harness, as well as a variety of traditional and homemade weaponry.

.Origin and backstory (as you see it):

Dick's the son of John and Mary Grayson. John was a detective for the Gotham City Police Department. When Dick was ten, his mother was diagnosed with cancer, one that acted fast, taking her from him and his father in six months. Dick threw himself into his study of jiu-jitsu. As his father worked with Batman to take down Tony Zucco, Dick withdrew into himself socially. Things came to a head on his father's investigation, and things wound up looking like Batman was responsible for the detective's death. Dick was put in an orphanage, until he was taken in by Ms. Harriet Cooper, a resident in the penthouse suites at Wayne Tower.

Since then, Grayson has been sneaking out at night, testing his mettle as the fledgling crimefighter 'Redbird' against the forces of organized crime in Gotham City, engaging the Chinese Triads and a drug cartel run by a mysterious man named Morpheus.

After some less than successful encounters against the Corinthian and Morpheus's enforcers, and an even less successful encounter with fellow teenage vigilante Batgirl, Grayson has devoted more and more of his time and focus into training, all working towards one singular goal: find the Batman, and avenge his father's murder.

.The burning question - Why this character?:

First off, because everyone and their grandma has a Gotham character in this game, and by Jove it's my turn to have one too! Also, because I hope to revive the long-lost art of the sidekick, while hopefully finding a cool way to get there.

.How will this version of your character differ from others? How will it be Ultimate?:

Well for starters, since Dick believes that Batman killed his father, he's not going to be particularly fond of the Dark Knight at this point. His motivations for training are of course to become Batman's nemesis rather than his protege, and the relationship between the two should become pretty darned interesting once Dick learns the truth about what really happened to his dad.

.What do you believe you can bring to the RPG?:

Aside from being the guy who loves to pick up vital characters that no one else wants to play? Lots of fun, plot-driven stories and hopefully some really good character interaction. I also still know how to do the Macarena.

.Provide a short sample post as your desired character, in three paragraphs or more:

Miss Cooper's usually in bed before ten, which means I'm free to sneak around as I please after she does. I've gotten really good at getting in and out of the place without her noticing; sometimes I even go out for a quick run while she's still up.

For a while, my excursions out into the city after dark were strange and wild adventures, knocking around the Triads and stealing their gear. Things took a turn for the worse when I encountered that Morpheus guy and his crew, when I saw just how horrific things were out there.....

.....how bad things were because of the mob.....

....and because of Batman....

....and because I wasn't ready, they absolutely trounced me.

Not again, I think to myself as I run across the rooftop, trying to keep my heart rate up. Never again.

Since then I've been throwing myself into my training, working harder than ever, trying to get my body and my mind into the best possible shape it can be. So that next time I put on the costume, I will be ready.

And I won't be unfocused.

I lost track of what I was doing, got lost fighting one gang or another, that I forgot why I was doing this in the first place: to find the man who killed my father.

I can feel it; I'm almost ready now. Soon I'll put the costume on again.

Soon I'll find a way to track down the Batman himself.

And when I do.....I'm going to kill him.

THE NEW ULTIMATE DC RPG
Character Application

.Character you wish to portray: Hank Hall & Don Hall - Hawk & Dove

.Hero, villain, or walking the line?: Heroes.

.Powers and physical attributes:

Hawk.
Heightened Strength
Increased Body Density
Above Human Speed
Healing Factor
Enhanced Endurance, Agility and Combat Abilities (Offensive)

Dove.

Enhanced Endurance, Agility and Combat Abilities (Defensive)
Flight.
Healing Factor
Concentrated Radiance - Manifested as a blinding bright light.
Inhuman Speed

.Origin and backstory (as you see it):

The Brothers Hank and Don Hall were fairly normal siblings. They were complete polar opposite. Hank hard-headed, and irascible with a talent for athletics. He lorded this over his brother, whose talents were more intellectual, and pasifistic. Although they could often be each other's most ardent adversaries, Hank and Don were extremely close and Hank was very protective of his younger brother.

Their father, a prominent judge overseeing the trial of the ead of one of the Mafias biggest families became the target of an assassination attempt.

The hit was taken out and both the Hall Brothers parents were shot. Irwin Hall survived but their mother did not, dying upon the porch of their house from multiple gunshot wounds.

Angry, bitter and frustrated, Hank lost himself in drink, women and violence. Don however, left the city to find himself seemingly lost and helpless. Both men blamed themselves for their mothers death and both desired a means by which to carry on his work in a more pro-active manner.

It was in this time that the brothers were brought forward before the mystical forces of order and chaos who offered the pair the power that they craved. Imbuing them with powers and abilities, they became the Avatars of War and Peace respectively, becoming the heroes known as Hawk & Dove.

.The burning question - Why this character?: I think it'd be interesting to explore the ideas behind this duo, delving not only into the brotherly bond between them but also their opposite ideals and how they come together for the greater good.

.How will this version of your character differ from others? How will it be Ultimate?: They're origins differ and add a bit more depth and motivation for them. Also, their powers are magnified slightly.

.What do you believe you can bring to the RPG?: A strong story idea and a love for B and C list characters :D

.Provide a short sample post as your desired character, in three paragraphs or more:

Don Hall sighed as his brother stormed out of their house. Why was it that he and his brother never were able to see eye to eye? They had always argued since they were very small. Yet, his brother had always been there for him if he was being picked on by a bully, or teased by his brother's friends.

"Hank!" Don called out, trying to catch him in time. The front door slammed shut. Cursing himself Don sprinted toward the door. By the time he got out Hank was already speeding away. Don glanced to the side and spotted their mother's car. He raced back inside and pulled her keys off the key hanger they had in the kitchen. He sprinted over to the white Audi sedan and started the engine.

For a second he felt guilty, not a full day past his mother's funeral and he was already using her car. He shook his head and backed out of the driveway faster than he ever had. Hopefully Hank had run into traffic, Don doubted he could keep up with Hank's aggressive driving. Though Elmond may not have been a large college town it was large enough he could easily lose his brother.

It was only a few turns and stop signs until Don found his brother. Hank had gotten caught at a long red light. Don kept his distance between them and hoped that Hank wouldn't look back and discover him.

He allowed several cars to get in between them he wasn't sure he wanted to get involved in whatever it was Hank was up to. His brother had violent tendencies and a habit of acting before he even had a chance at thought. Whenever he involved himself with his brother he ended up either as a fifth wheel or in some sort of trouble. He wondered even now what he was doing following his brother.

They passed several districts of town that Don found unsavory. The longer they drove the larger the knot in Don's stomach grew. If they were going to hide out anywhere it would be in these neighborhoods. He was proven wrong as they passed them and entered a nice area where those that existed on the upper crust of middle class made their homes. This couldn't be right, why would rich people choose to be criminals when they already had it all. It didn't make any sense to Don.

He saw his brother park his car parked haphazardly at a large house behind a tall fence and rush towards the house there. Don parked on the opposite side of the road. If this really was where the Drop Outs were hiding out then he really didn't want his mom's car seen parked right in front. He leaped out of the car as soon as it was parked.

Trying to keep his wits about him he slunk over to the neighbor's yard. He crouched below the fence and snuck along the edge until he found a large side window. He peered over the top of the six-foot wooden fence and glanced in the window. He could see at least seven or so Drop Outs inside, none of them were looking his way. Taking advantage he quickly pulled himself over the fence and into the Drop Outs' yard.

He positioned himself below the window and took another quick look. He cringed and ducked back down. His brother was in there now, in his Hawk persona. Hank was in there fighting eight gangsters all by himself. Don closed his eyes and sighed. His brother had always been so rash, but he also had a strong sense of justice.

"Damn!"
Don cursed. "Hawk!" He leaped through the glass window.

Not only had his strength increased to superhuman levels but so had his agility, He flipped and landed solidly on the glass covered kitchen floor. Everyone, even Hawk, stoppped fighting and turned surprised gazes to Dove.

"What the ****?" a gangster blurted. "Another one?"

Before anyone could attack him Don was on the gangsters. He clocked one with a right hook and was surprised to find the man practically spin a full circle before falling to the floor unconscious. He had never really won a fight before, he rarely had gotten into them, even as a child. His brother, on the other hand, had plenty of experience.

A Drop Out rammed into him, knocking him off balance. Don brought both fists down on the man's back. The gangster dropped to the floor with and audible "oof". He didn't get back up, but Don could see him breathing. A searing pain raced along his back.

"Ah!" Dove cried. He spun around and found a Drop Out facing him with a large kitchen knife in hand.

"Dove!" Hank called to him. Don dodged another attempt to cut him, his back screaming in protest.

A chair came flying into the gangster. Dove turned and saw his brother with another chair in hand, blocking a gangster with an asp. Dove squared off against a gangster that would normally be twice his size. The man kicked out at him, but with his increased reflexes he was able to thrust it aside with a kick of his own. Another gangster was coming at him with a knife he quickly dispatched the first gangster with a strong punch to the sternum.

Again he dodged a knife attack. This gangster was the fastest he'd fought yet. He glanced around desperately searching for something to use against the knife. He grabbed a large pan and swung it. Metal clanged against metal as the knife and pan met. Again and again the two blocked each other's blows. If Dove had more experience in fighting he might have dispatched this gangster easily, but he was a lover, not a fighter.

With a resounding crash a glass plate shattered against the gangster's head. The criminal dropped revealing Hawk behind him with what was left of the plate in his hand. Dove's brother smiled at him. Dove glanced around and saw all eight gangsters on the floor, either moaning in pain or out cold.

"I thought you weren't coming,"
Hawk said.

"Let's get these guys tied up," Don avoided the statement. He winced at the pain in his back as he bent to grab a gangster.

"Good idea," Hawk agreed.

Amazingly the Dove suit had protected Don from the worst of the long slash on his back. In his form of Dove he had practically recovered from the flesh wound. Now he and his brother sat in Hank's room, once more back to normal.

"I thought you didn't want to be a hero," Hank pressed.

"I didn't," Don admitted thoughtfully. "But you were right. When it comes to fighting for causes I am willing to inconvenience myself, but not put myself in any actual danger. I am a hypocrite."

"I didn't mean that," Hank said, sounding contrite for once.

"Besides," Don smirked. "Who's going to be there to keep you from going crazy on those gangsters?"

Hank laughed, but then got serious, "I knew you'd have my back, bro."

THE NEW ULTIMATE DC RPG
Character Application

.Character you wish to portray:
Gardner Naydel, The Turtle

.Hero, villain, or walking the line?:
Villain

.Powers and physical attributes:
The way his powers work is he is like a walking black hole for kinetic energy. In short, he can steal speed and grant it to himself or others. He wears a costume that is tailored like that of a turtle. The shell he wears as part of his costume serves as body armor and can expand to cover and protect his head.

.Origin and backstory (as you see it):
In the 1950's, Gardner Naydel was a frequent villain of the hero Max Crandall known as Mercury who would use his intellect to constantly challenge the fastest man alive. Wearing a green domino mask and a tuxedo, as Naydel would broadcast his schemes for Mercury to try to solve, he would always leave the hero with his tagline "Slow and Steady wins the Race, Mercury", which lead to the papers calling him "The Turtle". Naydel at this time had no powers though one could argue that if he had one it was his intellect. And every time he was unsuccessful, he managed to escape Mercury and the authorities...except for when he set his last trap for the hero.

In one of his attempts to capture the faster man alive, thinking he had successfully caught Mercury in one of his elaborate death traps, Naydel slips and falls into a pit of alligator snapping turtles as he was about to taunt the hero. Enjoying the attention from the media and the alias they had labeled him with, towards the end of his villainous career he did in fact incorporate turtle related things into his traps. Hearing Naydel's screams as the alligator snapping turtles bit at him, by the time the speedster made it into the pit, the damage was done and Naydel's spine partially shattered leaving the villain partially paralyzed. A young man, Naydel could now barely walk without assistance.

Over the years, as he laid in his cell, Naydel hating Mercury more than ever before. One day there was a prison riot, as he remained in his cell, with all the prisoners running about and the guards fending them off, Naydel was able to wiggle his toes for the first time in decades. He speculated that it seemed that the more speed that was around him, somehow granted him mobility as if his body was suddenly absorbing and reacting to it. Not even his high intellect could explain the phenomenon, but after a long time of speculation, it seemed like the only explanation. But nothing was ever fast enough to allow him to ever walk. When word spread of a new speedster hero of Central City, called The Flash, Naydel knew what he had to do.

Being a resident in Iron Heights had its benefits in that Naydel had connections with some of the nastiest and toughest thugs and crimelords; his run as The Turtle as he messed with Central City's previous speedster gave him some extra street credit of course. Using this to his advantage, Naydel is going make himself a free man.

.The burning question - Why this character?:
There are plenty of reasons for me to like this character. For one simply silly reason: I love turtles haha. So when I first learned about a Flash villain that was called "The Turtle" my curiosity grew already. And when I read the Flash issue where Geoff Johns sort of re-invented The Turtle I fell in love. It is a villain that has insane potential on how cruel he can be and I love it.

.How will this version of your character differ from others? How will it be Ultimate?:
The Turtle was never given an actual civilian name, so for starters I have given him one. In the mainstream comics he was created by Gardner Fox and Martin Naydel, so simply made his name Gardner Naydel. Also what is different is that this villain was not a joke when he used to battle Jay Garrick in their youth but an intellectual threat. Plus, his entire back story is different and I plan to make him a very powerful threat.

.What do you believe you can bring to the RPG?:
Another villain. Every RPG across the boards always have more heroes than villains. I'm hoping to add to the Flash mythos that byrd and others have built towards as well. If my stay isn't long at least I left behind an enticing villain for another to want to pick up. Should JB ever come back--a buddy of many of us who is a hardcore Flash fan--I think he will be very pleased with my version of this villain.

Iron Heights Prison Facility
Outskirts of Keystone City

Freedom.

A guard walks past Gardner Naydel's cell, looking in for a brief moment, and moving quickly on his way. It is one of the more pleasant hallways within the Iron Heights prison facility and it is of rare occasion that a guard bothers walking past The Turtle's cell. A prisoner that is paralyzed from the neck down is hardly considered a threat.

But one should ask...why else would they hold him in such a high security facility then? Ah, that is the question one should ask but they never do, do they?

I could calculate how long it would take the speedster hero Mercury to make it from one of my traps to the next and after much study and natural growth of our...relationship I could even tell how he would first try to react to said traps and even what his back-up plans could be; say for that one dreadful day.

A cockroach crawls from the cracks of one of the walls of the cell, and Gardner's eyes follow it closely. As it rides the edges of his bed and moves along towards his fingers, the second it hits his fingers, it suddenly stops movement; completely immobile. It is not dead, and not even it's antennas move. But one would think it was dead. Barely able to wiggle his finger, Naydel taps the roach and suddenly it is sprung to life again. The insect crawls away quickly, heading back into its crack in the wall.

Before, it did not seem possible to calculate the odds of my freedom for the probability was always at a dreadful 0. But now...it would seem that something has changed in my DNA. Something that I believe, with the proper catalyst can raise the probability of me being free from this rotten hell hole of a cell to 100 percent. That is how sure of it I am.

There is a new speedster clad in scarlet threads that has been roaming about Central & Keystone City. A son of Mercury? Nephew? Grandson, perhaps? There surely must be some sort of relation. There cannot surely just be some uncanny coincidence there must be a connection between the two. And I will
find Mercury through this hero they call The Flash wherever he now lies and I will end him.

I may be an old, crippled, man with 68 years under my belt...but when my plan executes exactly as I have concocted it to execute...

Whispering to himself, for the first time in a long time, The Turtle smiles.

"I will walk out of this fortress of punishment with such energy and mobility you'd think I was a man of age 35 or so."
