Nope. Even long before I actually came out and said so, I stopped going with that design when I realized that it didn't jive with the image I had in my head, even in the Ultimate universe. I also came to the realization that a collar on Superman is dumb.

.Character you wish to portray: Papa Midnite

.Hero, villain, or walking the line?: Villain

.Powers and physical attributes: Despite being a master at Voodoo and a hypnotist supreme..Papa prefers to keep this powers dormant rather than showing off. A flawless tactian, he relies heavily on the body guards that surround him and his own wits.

Origin and backstory (as you see it): Raised in Harlem as a street performer, The man that would become Papa Midnite was originally a caring young man. With a fresh face and bright ideas despite his unforunate way of living. Regardless, this all changed when both his parents died of an overdose. Left at the age of 18 to take care of his younger sister, he was barely making ends meet. But things were'nt over...His sister required immediate medical condition as she came down with a rare strain of cancer. Packing up and headed to the swamp lands, the two children would move in with their grandmother, a powerful voodoo priestess.

All her powers could'nt heal the young girl who lost her battle with cancer at the young age of 9.

Feeling bitter against the world, the young man took the name of Papa Midnite.

It was his street performer charm and now his grandmother's powers that allowed him to make a large sum of money...one he would use to forge the most successful crime syndicate of its day.

The Shadowpact.

Now in his twenties, after his grandmother or "Boss Edna"'s death...Papa runs the entire Shadowpact Mafia out of Gotham City. Not doing anything for now, but instead silently waiting for just the opportune moment to strike.

.The burning question - Why this character?: I've always been a fan of the darkest aspects of DC. Besides that, I read all of Papa's mini and most of his Hellblazer appearances outside that, needless to say I feel comfortable writing him.

.How will this version of your character differ from others? How will it be Ultimate?: A younger and darker more city influenced version. Going from the Gotham rags to bigger city riches. Imagine a more "Soprano's" take on the night club owning immortal that is Papa Midnite. Drama sprouting from within his most private inner circles.

.What do you believe you can bring to the RPG?: A good story.

Papa Midnite

Our titular character sits down...His eyes weary, bloodshot and with large black bags underneath them. He has'nt slept in days but he has to stay awake, he has to keep this "buisness" running. The phone rings an irritating insessant beeping just as he lays his head down on his desk inside the backroom of Gotham's hottest nightclub.

"Well? What is it? This better be good..." He answers grudgingly..

The drug addled dealer on the other end of line, twitches and drops the phone. Scurrying to pick it back up, he nervously informs Papa of the fact that there biggest drug lab has been destroyed by a mask assailant. With anger in his tone and blood boiling in his finger tips, he screams into the phone "WHO!?".

"No idea boss. We just got here and all the guys have been knocked out, with bags over there heads. The boobie traps were disabled and the drugs are gone." the peon says, scratching his chin.

"Well ****." Papa retorts as he leans back in his office chair.

"What're we gonna do boss?"

"I have a few ideas...Hold on the phone will you?"

"Okay, boss".

The phone hangs up and Papa pulls out one of his many drawers in his office desk. Pulling out a small doll, he throws it clear across the room. Just as it slides down, he throws a large tack pin. The pin lands directly into the dolls head, pinning it to the wall.

"Si--Si--Sirrrr.....Ack!"

"Would'nt have happened if it was'nt for you."

Later that night outside Gotham's rattiest cheap motel, a body is found stuck to a pay phone.
