"The Northman" is "so huge" in scale that Eggers had to change up his entire pre-production process: "Usually we storyboard perhaps 10% of the movie, but this one is so complex. We [had] a graphic novel of the film ready by the time we [shot]."
After earning an Oscar nom for "The Lighthouse," cinematographer Jarin Blaschke shoots his third Eggers film: "It’s Rob, so it will be accurate as hell...I believe there are four Viking historians advising. So it’ll be as accurate as a Viking movie can be"
Any mention if the film is in black and white?A few reactions out there:
Calls this very long at around 2hr and 45 min give or take, very dark and violent, not GA friendly...so basically a normal Eggers movie. Rough cut. Some guy said he needed to 'google search' a lot of things. lol ATJ is great in her scenes, per usual.
