The Nostalgia Critic Thread

OK, for those not familiar, the Nostalgia Critic is a web show hosted on "That Guy With the Glasses," dedicated to reviewing old movies and TV shows that most of us remember (typically from our childhoods), typically with a sarcastic slant. His best reviews are usually of absolutely awful, wretched movies that either don't stand the test of time, or were simply awful and yet everyone has seen it or heard of it. He also does "Top 11" videos, where he recalls nostalgic moments and gives them his critique.

His latest video is "The Top 11 Stupidest Superman Moments." It made me LOL quite a bit, because it was pretty spot on (although if you ask me, pretty much the whole movie of Superman Returns should have been somewhere on the list).

I love Nostalgia Critic, I like the one where he going to the release of the Last Harry Potter book; and the ones he did on the Nickelodeon shows.

Watching the superman one and this guy's horrible. Not funny and he has to have one of the most annoying and grating voices I've ever heard.

It sounds worse then Gilbert Gottfried banging Fran Drescher while she filates a sheep.

Also hes wrong on 11,8, 7 was stupid because the effects of Supes 4 were bad because they didn't want to spend money on effects, 6 was...less said the better, and 2 because everyone and their brother knows Supes 3 was just the Pryor show guest starring Superman.

I love his Batman & Robin review - "Noooooooo! Does not compute! Does not compute!" "A credit card?! You bastards! I'm gonna kill you!"

And his Johnny Cage shrugs in the Mortal Kombat review.

This guy and the reviews from Spill.com always give me a good laugh.

My problem with the Nostalgia Critic are that his videos go on for WAY too long. The Angry Video Game Nerd is better in that his reviews have much better pace and has more interesting things to say. It's quality not quantity.

I like both of them, but I've heard people make the same argument against the AVGN. Some people just plain like one more than the other, but I like them both.

BTW, his review of "Titanic: The Animated Musical" was quite possibly the most shocking and disheartening thing I've seen in years... Right next to the Garbage Pail Kids movie.

This dude is hilarious. I loved his reviews on the TMNT trilogy, Tom & Jerry movie, Double Dragon, Howard The Duck and Kazaam.

And even though it was a funny review I didn't agree with his take on the first Mortal Kombat. It was one of the rare times when a movie based off a video game was actually good.

Mortal Kombat was silly fun, like "Enter the Dragon" meets "The Goonies." It wasn't great, but it was certainly entertaining. His followup review for Mortal Kombat Annihilation was awesome though.

i'm not a fan of the guy. (though he does make some good points at times). Maybe he's trying to hard to be funny. I dont' know.

I've heard of this guy but never watched a video....until now. Wow this guy tries way to hard to be funny. Hes worse than any horrible movie he reviews. Never again will I watch this guy until he decides to tone it down a bit.

I think the NC is great. He & the AVGN are the best on things on the internet.

His pick for the most catchiest theme ever is spot-on. I've been listening to themes from shows of my childhood & god d*** Ducktales can't get out of my head.

The guy's personality and voice are really annoying and his commentary is not funny at all, but the clips he shows are funny on their own. It averages out to be tolerable but nothing I'd make a habit of watching.

I watch it regularly, but I don't like him. Does that make sense? His screaming, and voices, and characters, and attitude, all kind of grind me the wrong way, but I keep watching it because I remember all of these movies (Pagemaster, anyone?).

AVGN, on the other hand, is phenomenal. I wish the two would switch updating schedules.
