I'm hoping for realistic.

just like you saw in Advent Children or whatever that anime movie was.

similar style to that.

or Crisis Core.

The Advent Children style was terrible. The character artwork for the original game is leagues better and is what ought to be looked at. The designs in the movie and more recent games were drab and emasculated.

Indeed.

Cloud definitely needs to remain more optimistic, if they remake the game. If he's all gloomy, that's the first sign that the remake will fail.

I liked the cloud by the end of FF7, he had the **** kicked out of him but he was still ready to fight for everything and finally had his head screwed on right so he knew who he was and what he was doing, unlike earlier where it was all false bravado and confusion.

lol.

Cloud on the right looks like a Twilight Vampire.

I'd be fine if they went with the art style on the left instead of ultra realistic models.

and perhaps it would be easier to redo the game if they went that route.

Haha, remember seeing that comparison before. The design is a bit **** but I did like Advent Children. At lesast it had something to do with FF unlike Spirits Within.

Every FF is different, and Spirits Within came out at a point before any game had had a direct sequel, so I think it probably fit more with the FF motif than anything.

Most of the games seem to fit vaguely into a similar style though to me even if they are completely different and Spirits Within seemed very different. I guess for the 1st mainstream FF product I was hoping for some kind of film conversion of something in the style of VII or VIII. Which game did it come after (if you can remember)? From memory I liked it as a regular animated film, just not as a FF film.

Edit: And is Advent Children not well liked? I'd assumed it was popular with fans.

Just from my circle of friends (most of us like FFVII the best, or put it in the top five FF games) we really dislike it. It was boring and blah. The character redesigns weren't that good either.

We all wanted something fairly close to the original hand drawn animation the game was based on.

Alas...

I liked it. Cloud was too gloomy, otherwise it was ok. I enjoyed going back to the world of FFVII for a short time.

It came out in 2001 and, if I recall correctly, it came out either the same week of FFX, or right before it.

Final Fantasy Agito’s Story And New Characters Detailed. March 6, 2014 . 9:21am

Final Fantasy Agito is an upcoming free-to-play title for iOS and Android devices, and here’s a look at some of the features you’ll find in the game.

Final Fantasy Agito is an upcoming free-to-play title that will give players a look at the history of the first bout of Final Fantasy Type-0. The game will also feature many familiar characters from the game. Famitsu shares a look at the two recently introduced characters, and more.

First, here’s a look at Final Fantasy Agito’s story:
For the better part of the past thousand years, the world of Orience has been at war, as mankind continued fighting for the four crystals.

As the great war nears its end, the dictator’s plan to take over the world is set in motion.

In the midst of the raging battles, a ray of hope will save mankind from destruction—Agito.

The young boys and girls who gather together, with the aim of becoming Agito [Cadets].

In order to end the era of war, they throw their bodies into the battlefield.

Peace or war? Allegiance or resistance?

The Cadets’ determination will decide the future of the world.
The first cycle that surpasses the spiral of 600 million.

Tono Mahoroha:

Refusing the associate with others, Tono has a cold attitude towards those around her. It is said that she has certain characteristics that comes from past injuries.

Lean Hamplemann:

Lean is a young genius scientist from the neighboring country, the Mirites Empire. He follows and aims for Cid’s ideal of “The Empire will conquer Orience”.

The above screenshot provides a look at the Magic Academy where the Agito Cadets will be spending their days. There are various facilities, where you’ll be able to accept requests and communicate with friends.

By talking to different characters within the Magic Academy, you’ll be able to become friends with characters from Final Fantasy Type-0, such as the scythe-wielding Sice, shown above.

Missions will be the main part of the game, where you’ll be tapping the “Ability Icon” to pull off skills. The “Chain” feature allows you to register a combination of abilities, which will let you consecutively launch the skills. There will also be bonuses for certain skill setups.

Setting up the right skills will be important, but it’ll also be crucial to take friends who’ll be able to support you while in combat.

For subjugation missions, you’ll be taking a platoon of friends to fight powerful enemies. The targets will have high HP and attack, so the fights won’t be easy. Using the abilities from jobs you level up in regular missions will be the key to winning these fights.

Finally, by using the recipes and material gained from missions, you’ll be able to create or enhance equipments and abilities. Enhancing equipment will also change its appearance.

Final Fantasy Agito will be released this spring for Android and iOS devices in Japan.

****.

That just reminded me that they never released Type-0 outside of Japan. I doubt they'll release it at this point, but I've heard nothing but good things about it.

they just left it hanging they said it was coming then the thing with the MMO failing happened and they were in damage control mode not a word on what they promised of this coming to the west on console's or other wise, beside's ios ( the latter of which came when that was all happening since.) and that is indeed what happened.

Still pissed about that. :cmad:

nah.......they just gave us more XIII crap instead.........:o

Type-0 was originally a Fabula Nova Crystallis game, but I guess the director wanted to distance his game from XIII after it got the reception that it did.

they never stated that was the case it though they just started projects with ios as recovery for lost money that one is known. and I bet if asked they will never say that, ever and just cause that's what some of us that don't work there, think so they'd most likely that was never the case.. That's about it.

I'm just really annoyed that on 360 we have to keep getting the new lousy FFs and we can't get the remastered old ones like FFX/X-2 aka the ones I actually want.

Enterprising Fans Are Translating Final Fantasy Type-0 . March 10, 2014 . 11:31am

enterprising fans have taken it upon themselves to translate Final Fantasy Type-0, and are preparing to release a translation this year.

here's the video link at the very to in the quote or you can head to the article and see it there in it's embeded form. cause I don't know the Embed codes for vimo or if it wold work here if I did.

Final Fantasy Type-0 came pretty late in Sony’s PSP shelf life, at a time when the device was suffering from widescale piracy. While fans have waited it out to see if Square Enix would release the game in the west in some form, it hasn’t happened yet. Perhaps it will, at some point in time.

In the meantime, some enterprising fans have taken it upon themselves to try and translate Type-0 anyway, and are preparing to release a translation this year.

The translation group has provided a date of August 8th this year for the release of the translation patch, but say there’s still plenty to do before then.

While the main storyline’s text “looks good” and the interface itself is pretty much laid out, “literally thousands of NPCs” need to be corrected alongside other bits and bobs before it can be considered done said one of their members.

I know people did that for the various Monster Hunter Freedom titles to get them sooner. Could work. I hate how Capcom is busy going in all these tangential directions with FF instead of trying to replicate good turn-based RPG's like they're used to.

****, my bad you're right, had Capcom on my mind after going over some old stuff about them still leaving MegaMan dormant.

Square Enix then, I feel like they've gone in scattered directions.

yeah well they're both ticking off their fan base's of late with the chose's they make . so it kind makes sense they be mixed up to a certain degree.
