Comics The Offical Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Thread

The hobo was another, evil, Uncle Ben. When the good Ben didn't take the gun, the hobo (evil Ben) shot him and switched spots with him. (Took his clothes, gave him his own clothes, etc.) The hobo that was talking to and shot Spidey 2011 was an entirely different one than the one in the alley that was killed.

I'm am finally going to drop FNSM from my pull list since the Mysterio arc has ended. Also dropping the book because Weringo is leaving and going to work on Ms. Marvel.

That's how I interpretted it as well. I swear I read somewhere the David was going to follow up on that plot thread later in this title.

But it could have been another plot thread.

Maybe I shouldn't have asked. Reading that pretty much ruined that whole arc for me. I actually enjoyed that arc a bit, but after reading that my views on that one have lessened.

Did anyone notice a continuity error in the art in Issue 10? In the beginning of issue 10 Hobgoblin 2211 has five toes like a normal human, yet twoards the second half of that issue (not to mention in issue 9 and in both the covers of 9 and 10) you can clearly see she has two? I know Weringo is awsome but how can you miss that?

Ok, well I'll lay my cards on the table and say now I'm quite enjoying FNSM. The twist at the end of the Uncle Ben storyline was 'out of the blue' and the ending to the recent arc has left a lot of tantalising questions hanging:

What id the situation with Ms.Arrow and the spider Stingers?
Who is the Beck Mysterio working for and why does his employer want to keep Peter at the school with Ms Arrow?
What is the situation with the alternate universe Uncle Ben?

Its good to see lots of things happening in the background like the old days. Too many stories now are written especially for TPBs, in which everything is started and concluded in those issues.

Ok, after saying all this, the explanations for these questions will probably be really lame, but at least style is going in the right direction.

Great minds think alike ;).

He said he'd deal with it soon in an arc with the Sandman that's coming up.

Sweet. I knew I saw that somewhere...I thought I was losing my mind there for a second.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was on a newsarama interview with him.

Hmmm... so Sandman and Uncle Ben in the same storyline eh? Maybe just in time for the release of Spider-Man 3? :cwink:

Just read #13 yesterday.
The book is ok, not that great but I like that Quentin Beck is back and I hope he shows up again in future arcs. I want to know about what the deal he has done and who the beneficiary is.
Art is whatever, and PD is doing better than the previous arcs.

Yea, I think the Mysterio arc has been the best of them so far. I liked issue #13 (which I just happened to buy yesterday) and I'm eager to see where everything goes with Ms. Arrow and Beck. I'm very happy to see the original Mysterio back in action too.

Also........ Ben Reilly's return.....

Well, I just read issue #14, and I would say that it's probably the BEST issue of FSN to date.

:yay:

O yay, that's good. I've liked the series as a whole, so far. Can't wait to read the issue.

That is good to hear. So far the series has kind of been a bit of a letdown to me, but I decided to stick with it after the Mysterio arc.

I liked it too... even though it was a little confusing.

Also like the new artist,
although his Ben was kinda... ugly... It took me awhile to realize it was supposed to be Peter in disguise.

So... do you think Miss Arrow is "cocoon-girl"... or is that too obvious?

i'm reading the "Derailed" TPB right now and i have mixed feelings about it. i thought the wrestling match story was odd and not set up very well. the art varies throughout the book and right now i've just begun the final chapter of the "Jumping the Track" arc and it's a decent story . . . but feels very DC. it feels like i'm reading a smaller, Marvel Crisis on Infinite Earths, what with all the parallel earths that are involved (okay, there's only two, but still).

but a bad Spider-Man book is still better than most other books on their good days. and it's not all bad, i've enjoyed it for the most part, it's just made me scratch my head a couple times.

i read it, i kinda liked it.

Excellent issue!

The art was fantastic, and i LOVE seeing an Adrian Toomes who ISN'T being portrayed as a joke. Finally, a menacing Vulture again. (LOVE his new claws, BTW)...

Apparently, several of our fellow posters here were correct about something:

Deb Whitman wasnt selling Peter out. She is once again letting herself be pushed around, this time by her publisher. I hope PAD gives us a great reunion scene between her and Peter. (fingers crossed)

Why do I think Flash is gonna be a total ass towards "ben" *Sigh*I hate Flash.

Somehow I doubt that. It seems like throughout the Mysterio arc, he came to accept Peter and matured a bit to where he wouldn't be a prick to him.

I really hope PAD goes somewhere with that whole "Flash wakes up like it's 1965" story, because I'd really like a damned explanation at some point.

issue 15 wasn't bad. Can anyone say heart attack?
