I don't mind if Janet is in this and she hasn't become Wasp yet. I'm perfectly fine if she only develops her powers later. As long as they nail the look and personality of Janet perfectly, then she should be a real asset to the movie. They need a character like her in the MCU.

Well I guess she looks close enough to Autumn Reeser, who was my top choice. I prefer Autumn's voice though as Rashida's is deeper.

Isn't Rashida getting a bit old for the role though? She's nearly 38 isn't she? I always pictured Jan as being younger, and perhaps even younger than Scarlet Witch. Rashida kind of reminds me a bit of the young Lauren Holly.

I think Rashida can play late 20's, early 30's pretty believably. I think that's the age range she normally plays. They can skew Jan a little older though if Rudd gets Hank Pym.

I think it'd be great if they went a little older for the characters. Hollywood can be so very ageist with casting, so hiring a woman nearing their 40s for a major superhero role would be great.

I'd give my right kidney to have Rashida cast. I need them just announce Hank Pym already LOL!

If she does have a big part in the film, that gives me more hope that Pym will have a larger role than we originally thought... Hopefully in the present day, too.

I'm fine with Rashida for the role; she certainly looks the part. Am I the only one who can see that she looks quite similar to Elizabeth Olsen in certain photos?

Rashida could give the MCU a little bit more diversity since she is mixed, yet at the same time, she's light enough to where the internet won't go on a rage if she becomes Wasp, unlike the recent Fantastic Four news.

Paul Rudd is 44 and if he's cast, Rashida would be the right fit for Janet. If they go with JGL, they'd probably look at Emily Blunt or Jessica Chastain

Ugh. Neither of those 2 seem right for Jan. They were originally going to be cast in different parts in the MCU which were completely different to Jan. Would be as if Marvel are just determined to cast them then in whatever role comes along, regardless of whether they would be actually suitable. Blunt definitely seemed more like Black Widow to me than ScarJo.

If they wanted to go the Ultimate route and make her Asian, my top choice is Jamie Chung, followed by Freida Pinto.

But Rashida would be a good option if Rudd was Pym.

Here's more on the Janet Van Dyne rumor:

This is consistent with Wright's quote about wanting from a couple years ago about Wasp being introduced "in a roundabout way" and "saving some things for future films", as I said above. Also matches Marvel usual casting pattern (pulling good TV actors and is even from the same show as Pratt). So I'm inclined to believe this.

If Paul Rudd is Hank, then her age is just right isn't it? I've always imagine Jan being just about 4-6 years younger than Hank, and Rudd is 44. I think it makes sense for them to be older adults in the MCU around Tony and Bruce's ages.

Why is Joseph Gordon-Levitt's name always come up when a new Marvel movie is being cast? This has happened three times now.
Well, sometimes it's because we are legitimately talking, and sometimes it's just because he's a prominent actor out there now. And lots of rumors surround prominent actors.

Paul Rudd's name is out there for Ant-Man. That would be fun if it's true. I have no idea if it's true.

Regarding JGL, he says they're rumors. But regarding Rudd, he says nothing is true yet. I think it's definitely going to end up being Rudd.

I still think Rudd = Pym and JGL = Lang. There's a reason there's such a big age difference between the two. They'll play Lang as being early-mid 20s and they'll play Pym as mid-40s (which is exactly what I was hoping for instead of super old Pym).

I wouldn't hate it, but some here think JGL should play a bigger role in the MCU than Lang. Depending on how large Lang's role is, I might agree or disagree with that.

And yeah, I didn't wanna see an old Pym either.

I don't know any other big roles JGL could play. I know there were rumors about him for Strange but he would have to be the Ultimate version of Strange...which isn't nearly as good as 616 Strange so I'd rather they not do that.

Does anyone know which comic the panel on the left is from? I imagine it is Ultimate, considering Thor's design and Ultimate Fury's presence, but I don't recall either the Ultimate Wasps looking like that.
