Everyone in my movie movie theater laugh at that toy train scene.

It was the same in mine. They laughed at all the right moments so the humor seems to be playing well for audiences. I don't know what the quality of the full film will be, but right now audiences seem to be responding to this film's marketing like they did to GOTG's marketing. If the film is actually a good film with heart and genuine laughs then I think it's gonna be a hit.

I got the same feeling from the Ant Man trailer at the movies as I did with GOTG. It had that quirky, funny cool vibe that gave me goosebumps.

Seen AoU twice with the Ant-man trailer in front of it on both occasions. The train bit gets a huge reaction every time.

Second That!
Plus read it elsewhere!

Audience at the 'AOU' screening I went to last evening responded well! "...steal some stuff" and "toy train" bits very well.

It's working!
It's WORKING!
:woot:

Got the trailer today, pretty good reaction for a Monday crowd :awesome:

I think it's so refreshing to go back to a more simple superhero origin film after all of these sequels and team-up movies.

Out of all the trailers at my showing which included Jurassic World, Antman was the only one with any response. Lots of laughs and giggles at the right moments. I expect it to be a decent hit.

I was just thinking that the MAsters of Evil coud turn out to be a collection of villains we have already seen, but I suppose Crossbones, Abomination, and maybe Yellowjacket (technically don't know if he survives) is kind of a small team. Maybe Absorbing Man from AoS

The Masters Of Evil I have in mind would be Baron Zemo, Crossbones, Klaw, Yellow Jacket, Batroc, Absorbing Man & Blizzard. Just me though! Graviton could be too.

:woot:

Somewhere around $500 - $600 million worldwide would be great for this movie!

Ant-Man may fail because Marvel Studios has reached the point of success where all sides began actively working against them.

Joss Whedon is doing rounds complaining about Marvel forcing him to do this and that using pointing a gun as analogy, people will draw similarity to Edgar Wright regardless.

Internet Feminists are attacking Age of Ultron for some subplots and lines, while "leaked" email says the elusive CEO of Marvel is not hot on female-lead films, which will cement the stand of those who complain "why we get Ant-Man film nobody asks for it give us Black Widow".

This is why we can't have nice things.

I suspect the whiny minority are mainly just online. I haven't heard anyone in real life complain about any of it. Heck, half the people in my office who are not into comic books AT ALL love the Marvel films...one lady who knows nothing about the comics actually comments on the film lore with me. haha

bet you it still pulls through if it is good, but I will admit the negativity is piling on at the moment. but as long as the quality is there, so will the people I feel.

I agree. The sequels and team ups seem to get over complicated at times. Something fresh is exciting.

P.S. Perlmutter is a scumbag anyway you slice it, but I think Feige is doing a great job changing things slowly. Captain Marvel, Black Panther etc...

I third this notion! Great change of pace, and I loved AOU despite it's flaws. It's why I think I still kind of want origin stories, particularly for Dr. Strange who's origin I find can be cinematic gold.

I recall a big article on Perlmutter and what a nut he is - iirc he at one point seriously said not to worry about recasting Cheadle as Rhodey because "no one will be able to tell the difference anyway".

As much as I think the hate Marvel getting right now is idiotic, I am going to miss Whedon quite a bit and I'm a little worried about the next Avengers movie even with the Russos directing.

I think Civil War is going to tell us a lot about them.

Thats what I was thinking. I just hope they manage to capture the humor and tone right like Whedon. Both of The Avengers movies actually feel like comic books, and I love that. Its something harder to come by lately. (cough, cough DC)

I agree, i think TWs felt like a comic book though , a different type, their tone is better for a Civil War.

I agree.
On a different note, I'm super excited for Black Panther. Ant Man and Black Panther are both great choices to do stand alones with.
