Where are these rumors about Mackie being in Ant-Man coming from? I've seen him address this by saying he heard similar rumors but that it was uncertain where he'd show up.

It's from bleedingcool, in the same rumor piece (spoiler for Age of Ultron I suppose) about the line-up of Civil War.

Apparently Devin Faraci has more cred and claimed the rumor is untrue, but in a more recent rumor piece (the one about Doctor Strange appearing in Defenders) run by the site gloats that it turned out to be right (at least the part concerning the twins in Civil War. I'm not sure, I haven't watched Age of Ultron).

Reed should have everyone's faith. He's good friends with feige and everyone knows feiges the mad scientist behind this all.

if you think about it every director marvels hired has one really good movie under their belt. Other then that they get filmmakers with the fire in their eyes but just hasn't broken out yet ala the Russos or whedon or gunn... Or them all.

And bring it on is a classic so F the haters

To add more to pro-Peyton Reed, here is a bit from an ew.com article I just read:

For a short time, McKay was also in the frame to become the director of Ant-Man. After he bowed out of contention, Marvel instead approached Peyton Reed, best known for the comedies Bring It On, The Break-Up and Yes Man. But in the early aughts, Reed developed a version of The Fantastic Four with Feige, albeit one that never reached the screen. “Peyton, I think, is a great great filmmaker,” Feige told EW last year. “We had worked on a version of the Fantastic Four at Fox that ended up not happening. I always thought, Gosh, wouldn’t it be great to work with him again? He came in on a number of our movies. It came down to he and James Gunn for Guardians of the Galaxy. Obviously, we thought James had a hair advantage there and we’re very, very glad we went that way. When this occurred, he was one of the first people we called to say, ‘Might you be interested in this?’ And it wasn’t just a ‘Yes.’ We had to bring him in, we had to show him some of the work that had been done before. He wanted to be comfortable that he could add his voice to it, that he wasn’t just picking up pieces that had already been prepared.”

The fact that Reed was nearly given the director's chair for Guardians of the Galaxy tells me his pitch vision of that material must have been pretty damn good.

And Marvel Studios had been looking at working with him for a while should give those crazed hardcore fans confidence that Reed is a good choice for Ant-Man.

Wright is the man who made me look into Ant-man. He made me sing the praises of this project to everyone I knew. Once he left I was shocked and stunned.

Learning Reed and his story I never lost faith in this film not one bit.....My sister made me watch Bring it on endlessly(it's actually not bad re watching)

Was she trying to indoctrinate you into competitive cheerleading?

Giving Reed's take on Fantastic Four was very close to the early comics (where the four is famous in-universe, and every other issue the story involves one of the character getting pissed-off / being pissed by other three), if he was to build the Ant-Man from anew, he'll probably start with Ant-Man ans Wasp instead LOL.

Wasn't there a rumor saying that in Wright's pitch, Pym turned out to be villainous, but Marvel Studios rewrote him to be on the good side instead?

2, 3 and 4 can actually be compatible. Falcon shows up to recruit Lang for the Avengers. Civil War opens with him as part of the team. The inciting incident happens and the Avengers are split, with some members going pro and others anti. Scott ends up siding with Stark on the pro side.
This is what I see happening. Pym's philosophy is in line with the Anti-Reg camp, so it would make sense for Scott to side with Stark.

These are four mainstream outlet rumors on Ant-Man's role in Civil War so far

(1) Ant-Man springs Black Widow out of jail implying him on the Anti-Reg side

(2) General Ross visiting Pym to talk about a war they're in, implying him on the Pro-Reg side

(3) Ant-Man joins Iron Man and goes Giant implying him to be on the Pro-Reg side

(4) Falcon appearing in Ant-Man, implying to recruit him for Anti-Reg side

Usually that means some of the rumors are wrong, unless they mixed up the two Ant-Men.

I have my doubts that General Ross will ever return to the MCU.

If Ant Man is to appear in Civil War I hope Yellowjacket isn't killed because I really wanna see Iron Man take on him. I know their suits probably aren't close to being equal in terms of firepower but the YJ armor is honestly the best costume in the MCU.

I was just saying I hope we get Yellowjacket as a member of the Masters of Evil in a future movie.

I was just thinking that the MAsters of Evil coud turn out to be a collection of villains we have already seen, but I suppose Crossbones, Abomination, and maybe Yellowjacket (technically don't know if he survives) is kind of a small team. Maybe Absorbing Man from AoS

Ant-Man is the most anticipated movie of 2015 according to data released by Outbrain which measured the popularity of upcoming films based on how often people were reading about them online.

I'm not sure if this is down to the up and down roller-coaster nature of Ant-Man's production history or people are genuinely curious about the movie.
Leading content discovery platform Outbrain has been busily measuring our online movie-related antics by recording the page views of articles about Hollywood’s up and coming releases. Based on the data recorded worldwide, lovable everyman Paul Rudd’s Ant Man comes out on top, while Channing Tatum ripping his clothes off again in Magic Mike XXL is a close runner-up.

How does that work? What's the "0" detirmining mark?

Based on the trailers and the humor I think that Ant Man will have the same fun and not too dark tone as Guardians Of The Galaxy! It would also be kinda cool/ funny if we say young Hank Pym meet young Peter Quill, maybe Hank is stealing a chocolate bar and Peter tells him to stop because its not right haha

1. Hank Pym is way older than Peter Quill

2. Hank Pym wouldn't steal chocolate bar dude. He's busy doing phd and superheroing. Actually he's probably done both, and jumped shark to begin his own company when Peter Quill was abducted. Probably a fallout with SHIELD with regard to his consultant work.

I think you probably mean Scott Lang.

hahah yes! I meant Scott Lang xD not Hank Pym hahahaha

I'd say that there is some skewing in terms of Ant-Man being that he is part of a shared continuity that has earned quite a few favors and exists as a mostly unknown property.

Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas Talk ANT-MAN With AMC

Actress and comedian Lyndsi LaRose who has appeared in the movie Insurgent and Tv show Workaholics talked a little about her role in Ant-Man.

Lyndsi LaRose plays a character called Emily. She described her as 'fabulous' and 'a little bit on the evil side'. Her look is based on rapper Iggy Azalea (fake nails, animal print, ect). LaRose had comedic scenes with Michael Douglas and Paul Rudd.

David Dastmalchian brought a old Avengers comic from his childhood to set and got Stan Lee to sign it for Dastmalchian's son.

Surprisingly, there was no Ant-man trailer before AoU for me. We got FF and BvS instead. A tad disappointing!
